It will not let me sign in as owner even though I'm the only user.

I know it sounds odd, and I’m not sure it will work, but have you tried transferring your system to you, following the data at the manage your account FAQ? I’m wondering if that does some sort of ‘reset’ of the data that ‘fixes’ whatever is blocking you.
