Controllers and Music services

I have a Spotify account and I share it with my wife’s phone, but if she is listening to an audio book in the car, if I put music on in the house it kicks her out and plays what ever o am playing!! Is there a way around this ??!

I recently downloaded the Sonos App from the App Store. It shows up as an icon in black on my IPhone 13 Pro Max running IOS 17.5.1 whereas it shows up as a golden colored icon on my IPhone 7 running IOS 15.8.2. Can someone enlighten me if these are 2 different apps or what is the explanation please ??Look forward to understanding this - thanks.

My Sonos Radio recently stopped working (all the other services work fine, on all 8 speakers)The APP says “Your Sonos Radio account access has expired”  when I try and reauthorise it, it fails.  it says “Couldn’t sign in”   even though I am using my valid account Is there some way you recommend that I can have my account re-validated?

I am in queue now to speak with agent.  I am curious if anyone else has experienced difficulty with playing content today.  As recently as 10pm last evening, no issue.  However, 12 hours later and nothing will play from any services. Yes, my internet is up an running.  Yes, my WiFi is streaming without issue. Yes, I have, in the course of troubleshooting, have reauthorized access to each service.

All of a sudden the latest update of the Sonos app has disabled the ability to search and play local radio stations.  What is going on as this a basic element that we use our Sonos system for. Please advise.

Ever since the big app update, I have not been able to group my three speaker zones.  I have a Play 1 stereo pair and a play 1/playbar surround sound set up attached to a tv.  Anyone else have this issue?

I have updated to the new app but no longer able to play international stations (mainly from the Republic of Ireland. Why has this happened?

Jacaranda 94.2fm in Pretoria, Gauteng isn’t playing on my Sonos today. It was working last night still.

Where can I trash the 2 worthless speakers I have? I originally bought 2 speakers and it was working great so I added 5 more. then the new app came out and I haven't been able to do anything at all. luckily the new 5 speakers were returnable, but now I have 2 useless speakers that I need to trash because I went with bluesound and it has been much, much better! 1st it actually WORKS!!! 2nd the quality of the sound is much better. sons flat out sucks, and clearly they have no intention of changing it, as their CEO put out that its customers are just too stupid to understand what they have!  so where can I dump these so they can be recycled?

Since the update to the new Sonos app, I’m finding that Pocket Casts is no longer working properly. Previously, it would remember the play time I had reached, even if it was in the app (as I use it standalone when I’m in the car), so playback would be resumed from that position (if I come home from listening in the car, I can continue from the same place using Sonos).Now Pocket Casts still knows what podcasts are in progress, but when I go to play them, they play from the start, regardless of where I’ve reached in the standalone app.  This removes the main reason I started using Pocket Casts with Sonos.

It simply DOES NOT WORK!Some users complain about the missing features in your new en heavily promoted app. I would settle if I could just get my Sonos to work again!!! Since your new app from hell arrived, I havent been able to connect to my system. I have different generations and it all worked sort of well before, but now the Sonos S1 app kicks me on to your new app with a message that states "all my units are compatible but some may need an update". But your sh**** new app just keeps on crashing and is hard-wired to search for end prompt to endless updates that always ends with a "system 1000 error" on and on and on...and I have no freaking way to turn the non-functioning updates of or just return to Sonos S1!???!??Its so god damn' unbelievable how flawed this is. But here goes. So since the update my tirelessly curated play queue- saved as a custom playlist- which was a mash of individual songs, playlists, and modified playlists, is no longer visible. It was all originally sourced from Amazon music. Initially I couldn’t even find it to play. Then one day to the next it seems like it was playing the songs from it….but the playlist nor the queue are visible anywhere within the app. The first song from the playlist is visible and I can start the playlist by playing it. But when I click on the playlist/queue icon it just pulls up a bunch of incorrect and duplicate album cover graphics. I’m basically stuck not touching anything in fear of losing the entire playlist…. even though I can’t currently even see the playlist or amend it…. Anyone else having this issue?

Since the update I cannot access SiriusXM Canada. Attempts to authorize are rewarded with “Something went wrong….. checkyour internet connection”. Other streamingservices are working fine. 

Long time SONOS user that has reached the breaking point.  Ever since I downloaded the May release my SONOS system has been garbage.  Very frustrated.  I cannot figure out how to play music from a folder that is on my NAS.  This always worked before and was the reason that I started with SONOS in the first place.  Also, the latest issue is that I log into SONOS app on my Android phone and I get a message that says Software Update is required.  I click on ‘Start Update’  and the phone says that it is checking for updates and then says ‘Your SONOS system is up to date’.  I click on Done and I am back to the ‘Software update’ and I go through this loop over and over and there doesn’t appear to be aby way out of it.  I did hit ‘Submit Diagnostics, and the case number is ********** if that helps.  I am completely lost at this point.Moderator edit: Diagnostics number recorded and removed

Since the half decent App update everything has been chaos here. Music library disappeared and now, finally, after the lates update 16.2 (MacOS), at least the possibility to add a Music Library is back.But I can’t do it. I’m back where I was when I replaced my Asus NAS with Synology. A massive googling effort and a lot of trial and error finally got me on the right path? What I did? The Black App has caused consternation and some real anger, the main issues showing up here being how to get functionality back where the app has been updated and the ability to access local media libraries where SMB 2 or 3 is not activated.The workload on your help lines/chat bots/whatever must be appalling and the feedback here is unanimously negative.Surely you can help the owners of your hardware by posting clear guidance as to how they can sort them out on a DIY basis.  You’d also be doing yourselves a big favour by getting a lot of people off your backs on the help lines and this forum and Reddit.  I have seen a number of posts from users with either video links or written instructions.  These, because of the chaotic nature of the forum, are very difficult to find.  Authoritative instructions from Sonos itself could be made “sticky” and would be r

So upgraded, absolutely useless! Loses speakers, playlists, connections, preferences. Wondering if Sonos have back ended an AI engine in to this update and wrecked it? any idea when an update will be coming? Thanks all. 

I have had SONOS connected in my house for 13 years, using speakers in my ceiling and a portable speaker. It stopped working a few months ago and I have tried numeous times to reconnect to the sysem. I’ve also tried creating a new system. I’ve unplugged the speakers many times, have deleted and downloaded the SONOS app, but it can’t find an existing system or create a new one. Do I need to buy new equipment? If so, what should I buy? I would love to have voice control this time Thanks!

Since the upgrade to Sonos 2 for Android, and regularly during the course of the day, the app drops the connection to my router and I have to reboot the router to regain the connection and be able to use the app. I have been a Sonos customer for 10 years and have 5 sonos speakers and a base unit in my home. Most are used frequently throughout today. The router I have is a Google mesh system and I did not have this problem prior to the upgrade to Sonos 2 for Android.  Unfortunately, I've been unable to get through to Sonos telephone support to diagnose this problem. Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.

When are Sonos going to make their app work so that I can play and stop music using it ?At the moment my only option to stop Sonos music is to switch off the electric in my house.No control on my app ever seems to work.I have eight Sonos devices on my home network and some play and some don't.Dreadful.Changing channels used to help a bit but now I can't even do that.Any advice ? Or is Sonos just crap ?
