Controllers and Music services

Hi, I only have two rooms in my system but I can’t create a permanent group with them. The group option is greyed out and it says I can only create groups when three or more rooms exist. What is the purpose of this limitation?

Hey all! I saw in the music services Calm, a nice meditation app. I use a different one, Waking Up, so my question is: What is a procedure to ask app designers to add this one too?

I am experience bad problems accessing the sonos speakers (play 1’s , one,amp, soundbar etc)  since a few weeks . Bad performance when opening the sonos app and finding the speakers.   Today a search the internet and find there is a release 14.20 released 6 dec.  anyone the same problem as me?  so i think the bad sonos perfomance has to with this release. How can i roll back to the last release?  

I have the app preferences for the Sonos S1 app set with both Show Lock Screen Controls and Home Screen Volume Control enabled.This makes using my Sonos equipment much easier as I don't have to find and launch the app when I'm just making minor adjustments.Yet on Android 13 neither of these show up.That is a big functional regression from prior app versions.Is this a known issue? Are there any workarounds?

I would like to use my Audi Q4 Etron SONOS in-car sound system via CarPlay or Android Auto to play my music like in my SONOS One home system.

Trying to add amazon music to Sonos app its not working. Annoying. Any advice please? Thanks

Is anyone else unable to play BBC radio via Alexa assistant on their Sonos speakers? It keeps asking me to link my BBC sounds account and I've tried disabling and enabling it again and again and no improvement. 

Just tried to use Trueplay Tuning on my Arc system and I got the message regarding it is not yet supported on this iPhone. I have the iPhone 14 Pro. I assume a software update will be coming soon for Sonos similar to what happened with the iPhone 12.  Less of a question and more of a PSA

I have music and audio books stored on my NAS.  I previously ran a Samba docker container so I could share this content with my S1 system and SMB 1.0.  Though I didn’t use it a ton so it may have been broken then; not sure.  I just upgraded to S2.  I can index my Audio Books and Music folders with Sonos directly on the NAS (not the docker container) but only some books play back; others consistently fail.  Not sure why.  Anybody know of limits of file size?  These are all in the same “Audio Books” folder.  The files that work are smaller (200mb or so) but small files have also failed.  I can access that share with the same user account Sonos uses and copy the file so I don’t think it is a permissions issue. Separately, I run Owntone on my network (iTunes server).  But apparently it doesn’t support DLNA.I have Plex but am hesitant to enable Remote Access.What is the best way to expose my Audio Books and Music to Sonos?Any good docker containers of DLNA servers that I could run that Sono

Sonos S2 system.  Latest updates.  Just deleted and re-added Plex; no change.  Plex software is current.  Running Ubiquiti Unifi system for network gear.I can see my library, and for the most part, play music files from Plex.When I try to play much larger m4b audiobooks, I see a whole bunch of ranged gets (with 200 status code) of 6144 bytes in length (For a 200+MB file) and then it eventually fails and I can’t play back the book.  Each of these gets is from a different source port on my Sonos, which I think is excessive.I do have Remote Access for Plex enabled but do not have any ports published (for Plex or anything else).Any idea what is going on and what I should do here?  I’d like to be able to play Audiobooks through Plex on my Sonos.Thanks

Hi, I’m running Sonos 2 v12.1 on Pixel 4a (though I had this same issue on Pixel 2).When I browse “On this Mobile Device” my music appears just fine under Albums, Songs, and Playlists. However, there’s no discernible sort order of Artists and my Genres are all empty. I’d appreciate some thoughts on how to resolve these. I’d like Artists in alphabetical order (or for someone to at least tell me what the sort order is) and for Genre to be populated. Thanks so much!Artists - what order?eh? 

Few years ago many users suggested to add the option to make presets for the sound settings on the app and its still didnt happened. Can i ask you pleeeeease to make presets for the whole EQ settings (10 slots to customize) such as for music we will be able set height levels to +4 and the Loudness on etc. And just by pressing on ‘music’ for example, it will change all the settings. Thanks in advance.

I want to add Pro Ject turntable to my existing home theatre set up. Play bar, play 1s and sub.Once I connect via amp, port or play 5 etc. will the sound broadcast over all speakers? or just one?  

I’m looking for a consolidated tutorial, or instructions for setting up a network music library accessible by Sonos devices.  Something that will at least cover the basic requirements, system compatibility, etc.I know this is a wide open topic, and dependent on OS and hardware, but I find myself starting from scratch, searching through other’s mistakes and questions, trying to solve problems that should be basic knowledge.

What’s the firmware needed run existing products on S2

Would be great on the desktop controller if we could click on the now playing artist / album / track artwork to make it full screen.At the moment you just get a slightly larger pointless thumbnail on the mini player, it would be great if this could go fullscreen.I understand that the image is square in shape so wouldn’t be able to stretch to fit to a rectangular screen, but a larger image against a solid colour backround (white or black) would give the desktop app a great look when music is playing. Just like the mobile app but landscape for a desktop screen. Surely a possibility in 2022?

Hi,I don’t know for how long this feature has been removed, but it now seems impossible to set an Apple music local radio station (I’m talking about “legacy” radio stations, not the ones from Apple) as an alarm anymore. Radio stations just don’t show up in the “Alarm” menus.I read somewhere about a workaround (adding the radio as a favourite, then it would show up in “My Sonos” section of the alarm menu) but it doesn’t work anymore as radios are simply removed from the “my sonos” list in this particular menu.Sonos support confirmed the regression but was not able to provide a target date for resolution.Any suggestion? I know I could stream from Sonos Radio (which is correctly displayed in the alarm menu btw) but it is buggy (same ad repeating several times each time the alarm is fired up).Thanks!

Every year I bring my Sonos Play:3 speakers in off my home deck and winter them in my office by adding them to my “work” system. This year when I try to add a Play:3 to my “Work” system, the Sonos 1 app is making me upgrade to Sonos 2 app (see picture) .  There is no choice about it. The Sonos 1 app forces you to update to the Sonos 2 app. I tried updating to the Sonos 2 app on my iPad. It sees the old “Work” system but will not allow me add any new products to that system. I’m bummed because this is something I’ve done many times without issue previously on the Sonos 1 appI have read about updating in the chats and they say, Devices that are S1 Compatible only will only work on S1 (it’s in the label). Newly designed devices (currently Arc, Five, Sub gen 3) will only work on S2.My equipment (20+ sonos products) is older S1 and I want to continue to use the S1 app to add and subtract speakers from my different Sonos systems.  Is there a workaround?  Thanks.

I updated the S1 app on my iPod Touch this morning, to version 11.6.1, and now when I try to launch it, the splash screen displays for a few seconds and then it quits. This is a 7th gen iPod Touch that had been running iOS 15.6.1. I noticed there was an iOS update and updated it to 15.7.1: same result. Is anyone else seeing this?

hi there, new member of Sonos fam.   I have about 80+ gigs of music stored on iCloud.  is there a way to access this to be played in Sonos app?  can someone explain in detail how to make this happen if possible?  or workarounds if not possible? thank you so much!
