Greetings,I use my Arc primarily to listen to music. I have 5.1 surround & Atmos audio files on my PC. What format should they be in to play them on the arc with the sonos app? Or is there another way to do it without using a TV? I even read somewhere that the app will only play stereo files.Eg. many of the files are encoded as flac 96khz / 24 bit. I tried converting them to 48khz / 24bit flac as listed in the requiremetns, but Sonos app still wouldn’t play them, says ‘unsupported format’. Thanks for any help you can give.
Hello all,See the title for the problem. I’m playing a 3 hour long track from my NAS. Yesterday evening, the track progress bar showed up, along with all the time info. Today, apparently my system rebooted, and I attempted to play the same track, and I get no time or progress bar. I used to think it was the tracks, but since it was working the previous day, and now it’s not, I suspect it’s some sort of problem with the S2 app.I would have replied here: https://en.community.sonos.com/topic/show?tid=6842164&fid=228995 but that thread is closed.
I’ve requested this of Sonos but I always get the standard reply we’ll look into this. Suppose it’ll ever happen?
My Sonos Assistant doesn't recognize my Apple Music Playlists. If I instruct it to “Play my Sia Playlist” or “Play my Apple Music Sia Playlist”, it just plays a variety of Sia music and not just those songs on my playlist. Help please. Thanks.
Why is user behaviour for Sonos Radio not configurable?I do not want Sonos radio first in the result list when searching for music. This is so very annoying, especially as it seems to be an intentionally marketing decision rather than a technical issue.Best regardsTomas
Hi, I have about 200.000 music tracks stored on my Synology NAS.I've read that the limit of files for each library is 65.000 so a created 7 different libraries with about 30-40.000 tracks in each. The system completed the index for the 2 first libraries but don't go further. How can I solve this issue? Or is the TOTAL files limited to 65.000 for ALL the libraries together?Thank you very much for your help!
I created a Sonos Playlist from some of my Amazon music last year. When I go to play it, it skips tracks and there is a pop-up saying my Amazon account isn't authorized. I reauthorize and play something else for a while. When I go back later, 10 or 15 minutes, same problem. So I do the whole routine until I give up. That is like 5 or more times. I've had enough. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Somebody sent me a file on whatsapp. how do I play it on my Sonos system ?
I just updated the SONOS V2 app to V14.0 Build 67125130 on an iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and they both will randomly not show the playlist that have been previously created. If we force close the SONOS V2 app then it will some time show the playlist. Both iPhones have been updated to iOS 15.3 and have been rebooted numerous times. All music has been ripped to the FLAC format and is stored on a SYNOLOGY DS1821+ NAS running the latest DSM 7.x operating system.
I appreciate that Amazon have changed the format of their products and you can access less with prime however I still have more functionality when I use the Amazon Music app vs accessing Amazon via the Sonos app. For instance on the amazon app I can still see track listings on certain albums whereas on the Sonos app it just launches into playing the album and I’m not able to look at it select certain tracks?
If you select an album the music that plays is not the album of choice and album contents (songs) not shown
I recently bought my first Sonos speakers (a set of Sonos One SLs from Costco setup as a stereo pair). I added YouTube Music after a couple of hiccups (something to do with “brand accounts”) and am able to play music on the speakers. I have an individual YTM Premium subscription.I am running to two, probably related, issues:Launch Sonos app | Search for a song | long press | Play Now: This plays the song, but then stops after that song is done. In contrast, on the YTM app, I have ”Autoplay” enabled and clicking on the “Up Next” tab shows a long list of similar/recommended songs. This does not seem to work similarly within the Sonos app. Launch Sonos app | Search for a song | long press | more | Start Radio: This starts the “Radio” feature - but with a completely random song and not the song I searched for. Is this expected? The song is not completely random though -- each time I search for aspecific song and launch the radio, the same “random” song starts playing. Is this a known issue
Hi allFor some reason when I click on any playlists it just auto plays and does not open the playlist to let me see the songs in it. I have removed Amazon and re added it to my Sonos App. See screenshot attached
Sonos released another minor patch 14.19.1. No details are provided yet. Has anyone updated? Any feedback?
I Sonos planning to fix this or is my Play 5 now junk?
The Sonos app on my iPhone 6 (iOS 12.5.6 and stuck there) is no longer functional, it asks for an update and most parts of the app greyed out.Why ask for this update and cripple the app like that? The funny thing is that the alarm I set up in the app still works and wake me up every morning, but I can’t change the time or what is playing!
I have 1,000s of songs on a stand alone hard drive (no power). I want to play them on my Sonos, utilizing either a music source, an app, or hardware (3mm input jack). I would like the functionality to search songs/albums/artists (just like an iPod). Any suggestions?
Hi Sonos Friends,Been using Spotify Family as our primary music streaming for Sonos and everything else. I want to take advantage of Amazon Unlimited’s higher resolution for our Sonos system, but the 13 year old daughter insists she will die if we cancel Spotify because of her 10,000 playlist combinations of the same 47 pop songs. I understand that you could transfer the playlists from Spotify to Amazon, but let’s not open that can of worms for the moment because she is 13 and rationality is only a small part of the bigger picture. If I wanted to let the kid keep her Spotify and take on Amazon Unlimited for our Sonos, can I get away with a one device account for Amazon Unlimited or do I need a multiple device account? Anything from experience I’m not accounting for or should be considering? Be Well an Thanks a Ton.
Dear Sonos, You make great speakers, but your app sucks. It doesn’t just suck, it sucks a**. I have loads of gadgets and apps to control them: routers, switches, smart home devices, smart speakers, etc. But never have I seen such a poorly designed app and associated hardware integration. I don’t even know where to start. Installation, adding devices, removing devices, adding services, vanishing speakers, vanishing services, things magically appearing after being absent for days. Honestly, just start from scratch and give us a world class app to go with your world class speakers. It’s not gonna be easy, but it will be worth it in the end. Thanks. I am currently trialing Tidal Hifi and playing it on a stereo pair of Sonos Ones. The Tidal App on my Android phone lets me stream to Sonos and I have the streaming quality set to the highest available. I can also use the Sonos app to select Tidal music. What I would like to know is whether there is a difference in the music quality using one or the other. I find the Tidal app better to use. Thanks in advance for any of your insights.Andrew
How do I transfer/download personal iMusic playlists to Sonos?

Seen a few answers for this but i’d like one from Sonos. When will Trueplay be available & work on an iPhone Se 2 ?I have tried setting this up with an older iPhone 8 still would n’t happen.I have the latest version of the app & all software.
Hi. I have been using my S1 App for quite some time now as the majority of my system is quite old. However I have recently been gifted a new Roam SL which is S2 compatible only. Now, I know I can split the system for S1 and S2 systems (and if I have read it correctly, it is really only my Play 5 that won’t work with the new S2 app) and I am happy to set up two systems. However my question is this. Can the speakers that I move across to the S2 app (Play 1s, SYMFONISKs, Playbar) also be added back into the S1 app? IN other words, when I use my Play 5 with my turntable, can I have those S1 compatible speakers on both SONOS systems?
When will the Sonos app start supporting Android better? I can't add devices on my Samsung Galaxy S20 with the most recent OS and most recent app versions as of 11/2022 but have no problem with the app on an old iPad. It's very frustrating.
