Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

hey guys, few weeks ago I received an email from yonomi that they revamped the options for controlling sonos stuff, cool! I set it up, but location based action do not produce any effect. Yonomi is set up on my iphone, there are no other devices running yonomi in the house. Let me be more clear. I have a stereo pair of sonos one. The yonomi location routines are the following: 1) WHEN i leave the house, STOP speaker 2) WHEN i arrive, PLAY FAVOURITE playlist I receive a notification for both on my lockscreen, meaning the app understands correctly when I enter or leave the trigger zone. Unfortunately though, the music is not stopped/played accordingly. What is more weird is that when i'm at home and I force the routine, the speaker stops/plays as it should. I'm pretty confused and would like some feedback from whoever is also using yonomi. - ideas for troubleshooting? - what is it that is going wrong? - i read somewhere that i may have to keep a specific device alway
I have a dozen or so Sonos One's... Some paired some singles and a Sub. I run them over the Sonos Boost and finally got them operating trouble free... then last night I get the you may not use some features message (mandatory update essentially). Post that update all my Lutron remotes stopped controlling the Sonos systems. I Rebooted Boost, Sonos devices, Lutron Bridge, had Lutron delete Sonos data so I could re-add. Re-added the remotes. No results. Any ideas?
I have 4 Sonos Play:1 speakers and a Sonos Boost controller. I also have a Sonos Controller for PC app on my PC. It took me a while to figure out that I cannot create or add songs from my NAS to a Sonos playlist that I created using my PC. After reading many posts on this site explaining how to accomplish this, I realized that the ONLY way to add songs from my NAS device was to do so on my iOS device (iPhone). I really don't understand the reason why. I can place songs in queue from my PC but cannot add songs to a created playlist in Sonos. Is there a good explanation for this, or am I just being anal?
Hi there. Quick question / UI concern I have in the iOS app - which I otherwise really enjoy. I would like there to be a way to clear the queue without stopping the currently playing song. By entering the now playing queue and pressing the "clear queue" button, the current song is stopped, and the queue is cleared. This ends up being frustrating in practice. A common use case amongst me and my friends is that we want to clear the current queue, without ending the song currently playing - in order to either let the current song finish and then the music to stop - or to clear the queue ready for adding more music after. I think it would be A HUGE IMPROVEMENT if the "clear queue" button would remove all songs AFTER the currently playing song - and then pressing the same button a second time could then stop the currently playing song. Sometimes I queue up many songs, but then want to stop listening after the currently playing one. Say I have 20 songs queued up - the
anyone know how to turn on or off Sonos when away from the house?
I have Play 5 gen 2's in the kitchen and bedroom. When listening to internet radio, favourite stations, it would be good to be able to change favourite stations by swiping the touch buttons on the play 5's. In the same way as changing tracks when listening to albums. More convenient than going to a controller each time.
Why am I now being forced to create and link a Sonos account to the controller just to be able to add speakers to the system? There is absolutely no reason why this needs to happen. Poor form Sonos. This should be an optional step. As such, I will no longer be buying any more devices.
My phone app thinks my account is under an old email address. Even when I used the Forgot Password link, it sent the new password to my newer email address. I can login fine on the sonos.com site, so it is a problem with the app. The message says "Sign in with the account used to set up Sonos". How can I fix this?
As per my 8 year old thread - http://forums.sonos.com/showthread.php?t=14604 I would like virtual zones - for example, an upstairs zone or downstairs, or outside so I can quickly get the music I want to the areas I want.
Hi everybody, since there are no sonos controllers anymore (and mine from 2006 is not working anymore), how can I use Sonos for the guests in my B&B? I can't ask guests to download the controller on their phone and give them my password, so what's the alternative?
Hello, I I have 2 Sonons One speakers in a stereo setup. Plays fine with Sonos app. But in JRiver Media Center they appaear as 2 different speakers. Even linking them as one zone is not a solution.
I am generally OK with the 9.2 Desktop Controller. Yes, the black is a bit forbidding. I have a preference for light themes, such as this forum. But the one thing that I can't forgive is the design of the Windows 10 task bar icon. I use a black task var. So the Sonos icon background colour (also lack) make it merge into the task bar. That means that all that is visible is a microscopically small "Sonos" text. This definitely comes into the category of "What were you thinking?!" This is a usability issue and it needs fixing please
I just bought a connect amp that is connected to my speakers in the kitchen. I also purchased a Play 5 speaker that I control directly via the iphone app. I was told that I can control the volume of each room but do not see how this works. Any help would be appreciated.
Bumping this out of my last thread to stand alone in this big bad world. has anyone floated the idea of a controller app for the new generation of Smart Home Displays (Echo Show / Google Hub) I have this dream that I can one day play music without talking (by talking I mean trying 500 times to get the naming conventions right) or using my phone Seems these displays offer an elegant, large screen control surface - LUXURY INDEED as you were
Basically I am very satisfied with the system. I have a few boxes throughout my house and would like the ability to set an alarm for the different play 3 and play 5 items that I have, but with individual sound levels. At this time the level you set applies to all of the rooms.
Following update to Mac desktop controller I received prompt to change system settings to allow the app to control my computer. That sounds ominous. If I allow control, what can the Sonos app do?
Thank you for making Spotify more enjoyable with the Sonos app by offering more than the annoying Add to Queue of the Spotify app. Play Next and Add to End of Queue are so helpful. However, please make it possible to sort albums by Recently Added, as you did for Apple Music. It is the way many of us select music. It's there for songs, but then you can end up queueing your whole library if you don't want to add an album's worth of songs one by one.
Is there any way to implement Summed Stereo (Dual Mono) to each of the Connect Amp output channels via software? I honestly don't know if it is even possible and for this reason I still have hopes. I currently have 2 separate outdoor zones (each one controlled by a different Connect Amp). When the speakers are relatively close to each other (like I have on my "Patio" zone where the ceiling speakers are 10ft apart) having separate stereo channels are not such big of a problem but when you have speakers far apart (like in my "Pool" zone where the speakers are 30ft apart) it becomes a major issue when listening to some musics. To be quite honest, even in my Patio, if you stand or sit right under one of the speakers, you don't have to be an audiophile to realize you are missing "some" of the content being delivered to the other speaker, and that is bothersome. But when you can barely hear the other speaker (due to its distance, like I have on each end of the pool) you realize that you are
Is it me or is anyone else finding it really difficult to read and see the screen. The dark colours may be nice and sexy but they are rubbish to work with. I keep having to move the screen around to try and get it in exactly the right place so that I see anything. It's a real pain!
Add the ability to set a PIN protected volume limit per zone.
Hi, I have a setup consisting of a playbar, sub, 2x play 1's, and a play5 in another room. I've been using them quite happily for a couple of years now and never had a problem until the last few weeks. I'm now getting the above message EVERY time I launch an iphone controller or the mac os app. With the iphone app, I can manage to get it to re-connect following the instructions to connect to an existing setup and by pressing the volume up/mute buttons (sometimes after several attempts) but I can't get the mac os app to work at all. It says it has connected after following the setup instructions, but it really hasn't and then presents the above message. Please help. I'm really struggling to use any sonos equipment!
I cannot find a way to sort (to my liking) my favorites list. Especially frustrating on the mobile app when I want to quickly access my top favorites that I listen to daily.
I've installed linux mint 18.1 and moving away from windows but I'm having trouble finding a sonos app for linux. What is the best way to make this work?
I want to hear from the business why they are turning their back on Linux. There is no official Linux app, and we have to reply on running the Windows app through emulation (WINE) which is not ideal.
The app says all speakers are connected and playing. Usually. Sometimes one of the speakers will not stay turned on in the app -- but in any case, seldom can I get all the speakers to play at the same time. I've turned them all off. Unplugged. Reset all the connections. It is really frustrating. Sonos hasn't lived up to the brand promise in a while. Any suggestions for getting my five speakers to play at the same time?
