Hi.

I am soon installing a sonos system at a sailing club where all members have access to the wifi password.

We want to have a sonos system where only exclusive members will be able to control the sonos speakers from their phones, so that when music is playing nobody will be changing the song just because they don't like it or want to play their own music without permission. Is there a way we can set up a password for the sonos system? Does Boost setup influence the way you can connect to sonos in terms of passwords?

I was also wondering, with Spotify accounts, if you would need to pay for premium in order to skip songs or play in select order (instead of shuffle like it automatically does in the spotify app), or if you get these features in the free version when playing through the sonos app?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
As to Spotify ...

Can I use Spotify Free with Sonos?

No, you need a Spotify Premium account to listen to Spotify on your Sonos.

There is no password to access Sonos. You best bet would be to create a guest network for general users, and give full network access to trusted users. Most modern routers have a guest network which allows only internet access. Using this method would also give you the added security of keeping the general users off the local LAN.
