When I want to pair the Lutron Pico Audio Remote, I select the room where the remote is located (office) and then I am presented "select Sonos room for Audio Pico to control" which presents two rooms (living room and bedroom) that are attached to another Sonos setup with a different email address. And thus I cannot continue because the office room is not presented. It seems that there is no way to remove those two rooms. Please advise on what I can do to correct this problem. I have already talked with Lutron and they have indicated it is a Sonos problem. But Sonos indicates it is a Lutron issue. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Can anyone advise why it is not possible to save playlists created from music on an Android phone and is there a way around it?
Removing fuctionality in the PC Controller software makes me quite frustrated. I have to stop upgrading the Sonos software. Way too much bullshit is done because of lazy programmers and idiotic corporate decisions. My old controllers stopped working which was a great way to instantly have Sonos available to all my guests and all children in the house, internal or external. My Samsung tabs are too old to be used. My spare smartphones are too old to run the Sonos software. My previous iPhone are too old to run the software. Come on, Sonos! Wake up to what you're doing to your customers! I will now for the first time in 15 years STOP recommending Sonos to anyone I meet from now on. I've always been a big fan. Not anymore. I'm getting ready to throw everything out for sale to get me something else that I can rely on and doesnt make my day troublesome. Maybe even find something that supports bluetooth as well. By not letting me do everything through my PC anymore, is just super incon
Sonos Icon in Windows 10 changed to >|| after latest update. Is this correct?
Why has the compression settings gone from the new Windows App? I can't find the "advanced" section anywhere! I used this all the time as i suffer from drop out when streaming music from my PC to other rooms, turning on compression helps with this, and I switch it back to uncompressed when watching youtube video etc on PC, as there is a delay when compression is on.... It's still there on the phone app, but not the Windows version!?
I might sound like an idiot here - but bear with me - I’m listening to a song on Apple Music through the Sonos app and would like to listen to similar sounding songs in a playlist (using a mix of my own library and songs not in my library). Is there a a way to do this through the Sonos app? Through the Apple Music app I would just tap “create station” but I seem unable to do similarly through the Sonos app.
My wife keeps deactivating my surround speakers and subwoofer because the sound "scares her." Notwithstanding how irritating this is to recalibrate every night, I lose my mind watching a movie that is gradually becoming inaudible. She changes it in such small increments that I don't realize it at first. Its like Chinese water torture. I feel like I'm getting the Ludovico treatment in Clockwork Orange; she's killing my one true passion!!! Please give me master user access to regulate this. I can't believe every schlep with wifi access can change SONOS settings. Its a huge fault in the system. Worse still is when my brother comes over, thinks he's captain DJ, and changes everything again.
Hello, I saw someone asked this over 6 months ago and was wondering if we were any further forward on whether Sonos and Discord will join together?
I am an a/v installer, and have set up a dozen or so Sonos systems for customers, and recently have encountered a problem. Typically the installations consist of Sonos connects or connect/amps wired to speakers throughout homes. For a long time I had no trouble playing music that is on my iPhone just by selecting tracks within the Sonos app. On the last job, that stopped working. Now when I try to play songs, I get an error message, something to the effect of “unable to play cannot connect to media server because the media server cannot be found.” I have no trouble using pandora or tune in or anything else so far as i can tell through the Sonos app, but get the same error no matter what I try to play from my phone. I’ve now checked it on 4 different systems, 2 of which had given me no trouble playing songs on device in the past. None work anymore. Any ideas? I submitted multiple diagnostics, Sonos customer service didn’t know what to make of it.
With the recent Windows App update, the background changed from a mellow colour of blue to black. I would like to have control over the colour of the background as I seem to have with every other music app on my pc and phone. SOSON - update the app with configuration options for background colours and patterns
Hi. I set an alarm on sonos in my vacation rental, but I completely forgot to turn it off. Now it will go off every day at 6am (had to wake up early to leave) at full volume! How can I turn this off? It's in another country, so I can't go there easily.
Anybody else want this? We use our system for multiple inputs. Currently we have 6 speaker systems and want to be able to define MACROS that set the input, which speaker and the SPECIFICS for those speakers. Initial volumes, balance, EQ including the Sub when attached. This will take the system to a whole new level. I have a ton of ideas on this and I really encourage you to do this. We are building a new house and if this feature isn't added, we may need to go to a much more expensive solution to get the functionality we need.
I accidentally played some music at 100% volume on my pair of Sonos One speakers. The music sounded distorted and very loud. Probably because I have the bass and treble set to about 75% in the equalizer settings. I know distortion/clipping is especially bad for a speaker. The torturing lasted for about ten seconds. Is there someone from Sonos or someone else with knowledge that can tell me if this damaged/degraded my Sonos speakers?
* allow me to access the Information screen from items in the queue, or on the Now Playing screen. * have the Browse The artist facility include composite albums where the artist contributes tracks, but doesn't own the whole album * allow me to access track tag data not indexed by Sonos; ie. Genre, Composer, Conductor, Lyrics, Date Recorded, Date Ripped, Original Title, Involved People, .... If I have taken the trouble to tag my music with a this data it would be good if the Sonos controllers could display it back to me. * allow link across to Artist or Album data stored in public places such as wikipedia or Last.fm (eg. http://www.last.fm/music/Gotan+Project or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotan_Project or the same at the album level) I have difficulty seeing what value it delivers in its current form. ... I have a computer in my hand ... it has an "information" button, but it just seems to a lame little circular facility showing just what I could see already see, but didn't ans
Yes we have guest WiFi, but employees are on internal WiFi to access fileservers and resources. And no one has Admin access to install the Sonos app BUT Spotify has now added a Sonos feature and Spotify can be downloaded WITHOUT admin approval or install password - so the onus is now on Sonos to be able to protect playlists on the company Sonos systems. I would NEVER recommend a Sonos system to a corporate business for this one reason. Clients are here and then someone throws on heavy trap rap and N this and N that or whatever. And now it looks like the IT dept has no control over their employees and or systems and there's no way to know who made the change for a reprimand - ridiculous. HIGHLY RECOMMEND A PASSWORD ONLY SYSTEM. It's been 4 years now we have been asking for this and nothing. Sonos = No STARS. #FAIL
Compared to the old version, I really like the new modern look of the new Sonos controller app. The only suggestion I would like for the next update is the ability to re-arrange the playlists and stations under "My Sonos." Currently, you can only delete and no option to re-arrange. I am using an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11 right now and I like how you can long-press "Stations" and "Playlist" to re-arrange. Maybe do a feature like that inside these categories. Other than that, it is perfect for me. I am looking forward for Airplay 2 integration in 2018. Anyone know if the open beta includes Airplay 2?
I would like to see a feature where you could have any small history of the last three or four things that you Listen to. For instance Sometimes I won't be listening to a More upbeat Kind of music And then I will take a nap for an hour or two and switching to A Ambient spa kind of music But then I want to go right back into what I was listening to when I wake up I have so much music I can always remember what exactly it wasIt would be nice if there was just a small history. Tell me what you think guys.
I'd already been getting sick of the numerous updates to the controller app, but 8.6 did at least seem to have fixed a couple of things that were going wrong in 8.5. But the latest controller (android) update has been a farce and seemed to have broken various things that were working absolutely fine. - "Show Lock Screen Controls" - doesn't work - "Allow Volume Control on Home Screen" - doesn't work - starting the Sonos controller when something is already playing - it says no music is playing/ selected. I have of course uninstalled, reinstalled, reset it, and frankly am well and truly sick of the amount of dicking about required for what used to be so simple. (edit): about 5 minutes after posting this I reset the controller again, and finally - 2 days(?) after installing - it's working as it should. I have absolutely zero interest in Siri, Alexa or Dave the talking chimp. Please stop fannying around with the controller and just let us use our (quite expensive) speakers! If
I work at a school and we have 7 speakers in the various classrooms. The speakers seem to want to automatically group, thus music from class 1 will suddenly take over the speaker in class 2. I know it's easy to ungroup, but is there any way to prevent them from doing this to begin with as the abrupt change can be very disruptive?
Hey All, I've tried searching to see if this has been asked before, so if it has I apologize. I've had to resetup our sonos system in the office, and now everytime someone wants to connect to the sonos system for the first time, they choose connect to an existing system, then they have to press the play pause button on their nearest speaker. Is there a way, or a setting I'm missing to disable that and to just let them connect? I mean it isn't a massive hassle, but it is kind of a pain. Most of the speakers are all hard wired in, not sure if that matters, and we also have a boost. Thanks for any help!
The Manage tab on the controller on my Windows Vista PC has a number of items greyed out, including Library Music Settings and Update Music Library Now. These would presumably allow me to play my iTunes music on my Play 1, but, without them, I’m unable even to find out. How should I proceed, please?
The Sonos AP was so easy to use, choose the rooms, choose the music and play. Then using my Apple Watch or the phone lock screen you could, pause, play, change tracks, change volume. Instant control with minimal effort. New AP update arrived and it’s now a real pain as it now involves have getting the phone out, go through the unlock process, find and open the AP just to change volume. This is such a backward step in functionality and disappointing.
Hi, Is there any plan to make the account optional again? It’s getting to an annoying point having to login or change the account email address each time a player drops out of the network. I have a Bluesound system as well (different location) and although this also suffers from occasional network issues with the wirelessly connected players, it’s very straightforward to get it solved. It’s getting to a point I will drop the Sonos setup in favor of Bluesound which works without any registration whatsoever and has far less network issues. Sonos, you’re become Bose, great marketing but poor customer experience. Sorry I have to say that. Hope you will get that snappy experience of pre 8 software version back anytime soon.
I just completed the update and the first thing that struck me was the loss of the settling and calming blue colour to the text. Is there any way to get the blue text back? I find the blinding white light approach much less visually appealing - particularly the large white blocks where rooms are grouped together. Any way to set up a toggle switch so that those who prefer a particular colour can select that colour for the text?
I have just purchased a new play 1 to add to my others. When ive gone to add it to the system through the app it has lost the function to add another speaker.
