My Sonos Playbar and Sub is connected to my TV. My Mac-Mini is also connected to my TV. Can I play media such as stored movies, itunes, and general media through the Sonos. My Sonos has replaced my amp and speakers that were connected to the Mac-Mini to allow this.i.
Hi beam is set up and works great, but when i mirror my phone to tv and watch youtube videos no sound comes out of the beam i have to switch to tv speaker .i am connected through hdmi arc,am i doing something wrong or does it just not support this feature. Thanks Paul.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here (probably :D), but am struggling splitting a stereo pair. I have a Sonos Play 3, and 3 x Sonos Play 1. A few years ago I set up a stereo pair in the Lounge with 2 x Play 1's, however, having just moved house, the Room Settings in the Windows App and Android App do not seem to allow me to play with this configuration anymore. Would rather have speakers in different rooms rather than a stereo pair now. Any help greatly appreciated.
I open the Sonos app It asks me to add a speaker I press the plus icon to add speaker I see a screen asking me to update the app I press update (despite my app being 9.2 - latest version) It opens the App Store, shows Sonos app I can’t see any option to ‘update’ I press open Same thing happens Asks me to add a speaker, Before I can do that I must update... Urgh. Help. I’ve deleted the Sonus app and reinstalled it from the App Store. Still does the same thing. Is this a know bug in 9.2?
Hi I am new to Sonos and have just started creating my setup. I currently have three Play1 and a bridge. I am very happy with the way everything works and look forward to expanding as funds allow. I do feel there is a gap in functionality though. I would like to be able to create and save groups. I might like groups like: All - every unit plays the selected audio Upstairs - all speakers located upstairs plays the selected audio Downstairs - all speakers located downstairs plays the selected audio Working - units in my office and the kitchen (when I need a coffee) play the selected audio There may be any combination of units in any group and I should be able to name the groups descriptively. Anybody else think it would be useful? Steve
Upgraded to v8 on my iPhone and for the life of me cannot figure out how to switch the playbar back to the tv audio music source after playing music on the playbar? This was extremely easy on older version but not do not even see the option for TV audio? Suggestions? The TV music source is on the upgraded controller on the Mac but cannot locate on the phone app.
Since the update my iPhone and iPad will not connect to my Sonos system. My partners iPhone and iPad still connects so I know it’s not a problem with my WiFi settings. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on both devices and rebooted the router. Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I took one of my Sonos One speakers to my vacation home. It really is not easy to change networks temporarily. I got it to work (using ethernet cable setup then setting to new network) but when I returned home I have not been able to get it reset to my home network. I got it to work briefly but now I it will not show up on my app no matter what I try. I'm about to try a factory reset. I did get it to connect by plugging in an ethernet cable, but when I disconnect the ethernet, the connection is lost. Now the controller can't connect thinking it is on a different network which did not change since it was Ethernet was unplugged. I have gone through the numerous procedure suggested. Now my two phones and computer can't connect to Sonos. I sent in a Diagnostic report The discussions are not clear about what exactly is the risk in doing a factory reset, just that it is not a good idea. If a set is done are all setting for all speakers affected, or just setting on the reset speaker?
I have a large iTunes library that I like to play through Sonos. I have recently gone through my iTunes Library and deleted several playlists that I no longer listen to. However, when I sync my iTunes library with sonos, these deleted playlists are still showing up in my imported playlist within the Sonos controller app. Why are they not being removed and how do I remove them?
Hi, Any of you have success using the Sonos app on a Chromebook? I'd like to be able to control the system from it with the app since it now supports Android Apps but it doesn't update on playback all time time.
Sonos media controls worked great on my Wear OS 1.x device but it was recently upgraded to Wear OS 2.0 and it looks like the Sonos app no longer triggers media controls on the device. So it looks like notifications worked out of the box with Wear OS 1.x but not in Wear OS 2.x Does anyone have the notification working on a Wear OS 2.0 device?
I have a new iMac and have installed the sonos app but I can not see the gear icon to index the library
I’ve had a Sonos play 1 for 20 months. First year and a half it worked great. Recently it keeps dropping out despite it and router not having their locations moved. Driving me mad. Looked at forums but I’m not that tech savvy and just want to enjoy music. Finally yesterday I think I got it working ok. This morning I received a suggestion to upgrade App. Haven’t done it. How do I block these suggested updates? Simple explanation please.
I have been using Sonos for many years. I have the basic system on a PC I have been using new Sonos speakers. My old controller is no longer supported. After house alterations I want to bring some of my older components back into service and extend the system. It appears that I have to do everything through the app on my iPhone. I set that up recently and it was working OK, but it will not let me sign in to change my system. So far as I can see, it appears to have linked itself to an email address which is different from the one I used when I set up the system years ago and no matter what I do (re-setting the password, re-installing the app and so on) I cannot sign in. The result is that I cannot even use the modern speakers I had been using until this morning. The app on my PC will not respond until I sign in. It is Catch 22. Can anyone suggest how I get out of this?
Any updates to when google Assist is being added to Sonos??? Alexa isnt very impressive?
After speaking with both Chromebook and Sonos, still no solution to get Sonos to connect to wifi through Acer Chromebook. It had been working for 8 months.
Background: occasionally Sonos can't play a track for whatever reason (usually this happens with Spotify), and Sonos has a "keep playing music no matter what" design whereby it just attempts to skip to the next track and pretend nothing happened, no option to have playback pause on error. The only way I've found to spot issues like this is to go looking in the error log. I know how to get to the error log on 9.1 desktop controller app (Help->Error Log), but one day I'm going to have to "upgrade" to the 9.2 "player" app with reduced admin functionality. Is the error log still available on 9.2 desktop? Is it available on mobile app? (can't see an option anywhere).
I knew the new crippled desktop controller was coming because I read it here, but when I actually took the 9.2 update there was no warning at all. There are going to be a LOT of very surprised desktop users out there. There's a few on the forum now, but adding a warning to the pre-upgrade message would save Sonos at least some of the forthcoming vitriol.
It says to Tap More Options (...) to add your favorite music. When I goto Browse —> a playlist on my iPhone —> ... on top of screen, I don’t see an option to add the song or playlist to My Sonos.
Hey everyone! I'm currently attending University living in a dorm in which I am constantly having issues with people thinking that it is funny to blast music off of my Play 5. I am on an open network and we are not allowed to create our own so I am just checking to see if there were any ways to prevent this from happening in the future. People are able to just play music right off of the Apple Music / Spotify apps on to my speaker and I really don't want it to burst or anything like that. Is there anyway to disable Airplay? If I connect a tablet through the aux and just keep it plugged in will people still be able to play off of it? Thanks!
Hi The "settings" option via "advanced" has vanished from my main Mac computer and laptop. It means I cannot go to the bit to "change channel". It still exists on my ipad, however, via "settings" and "advanced settings" but not on my Mac. In fact, ever since the update to Sonos that turned the interface black, under "manage" at the top, all I now have is "music library settings", "service settings" and "add radio station".
Is there a way to have music fade to off instead of abruptly stopping mid-song? I would like to have a setting that allowed me to specify how many seconds of fade before turning off using the on-speaker on/off toggle and also an option on the controller to fade to off instead of clicking stop. Is this possible? If not, could this be considered as a future enhancement?
All the options in the "manage" menu are grey-ed out. That makes it impossible to add a music library and so I can only play music from streaming services and radio on Sonos. How do I get access to the "manage" menu so I can access my music library sorted on my Mac?
Am I missing it, or is there no longer a sleep timer option in the new iOS/Android apps? It's still available in the desktop app but that's a real pain when I want it to turn off after, say, half an hour (usually at bedtime) and do not have the computer on. I do quite like the new app, but that's a bit poor. I was trialing the beta as well and logged that sleep timer was missing a few times. My comments seem to have not been noted! 😞
When listening to a radio station on Sonos, I'd often like to look back and see which songs just played. Is there any way to see this?
