Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

I have a Sonos Bridge and play 5 since 2014 and I'm no longer able to use them since on all my devices I get 'The software on this device is outdated.... ' I tried to update the controller via the PC and now the bridge and play 5 are at version 9.2 but still not able to connect with any of my android devices. How do I get it back working and use what I have paid for even if it means using the previous software as it was working just fine for me and I had no issue until this upgrade was forced.
I'm trying to reduce the amount of WiFi signal emitted in my home. But I believe that the speakers still try to connect via WiFi, even if ethernet is connected? Is that true? If so, how can I disable WiFi? I found a website with instructions but it appears they're no longer applicable.
Error in desktop controller
Just decided to play some music only to discover all the album tracks are listed and play in alphabetcal order. How do I change this? At the moment, Sgt.Pepper STARTS with A Day In The Life!!!
I have been having Wifi issues and switched over to a Boost system. Running Sonos from my wired in PC appears fine, it will talk to ALL speaks across a 3 story house, however I can no longer get my phone (iphone) to connect to the new Sonos wifi. Does anybody else have this issue...if so please do you have any advice on how you fixed it. I'm bored of having to run down two flights of stairs to use, what should be, a wire less system...? Thanks
I installed the new Sonos Beam through the latest Android app on my OnePlus Five phone without a problem. Yesterday, suddently, the Sonos app for Android continuously crashes and is useless. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app, but nothing helps.
I have a Sonos Connect. Version: 9.2 (build 46357250) Hardware Version: 1.16.5.5-2 Series ID: P100 Previously I've been able to change the volume output setting between fixed and variable. This is no longer available in Preferences. Does anybody know where to find it?
I have a Sonos Connect and 3 Sonos wireless speakers. I primarily use this as sound for my TV and DVD, which are wired to the Connect with the RCA connectors in the back and are shown in the Apt as "Line-In." I was advised when I set this up, about 3 years ago, that there might be a slight delay in the sound witht the direct Line-In, but there never was. After an "update" a few months ago, the entire system was not working and I let it be. Now, with some help from support I've got everything back up and working well, except - I guess after the update because everything else is exactly the same - there now is almost a 2 second(!) delay in the sound, which makes it impossible to watch a DVD or TV. Since we got the Sonos, my wife and I have watched a lot of DVDs with the sound just coming from the Sonos speakers, and I've had a lot of friends over to watch football games (including 2 or 3 big Superbowl parties) using the Sonos and it always worked so well. Now, well right now it's a
Like many people, I periodically upgrade my iPhone to take advantage of newer features. The replaced iPhone then becomes a Sonos controller. I have two such iPhones, sitting in charger cradles next to the easy chair in the main listening room, and on the nightstand in the bedroom for the bedroom Sonos Connect. However, now for the second time, Sonos has dropped support for one of the iPhones (OS version no longer supported). I don't pretend to understand the complexity of supporting a controller on an older iOS version, but it doesn't make me happy not to be able to use perfectly good hardware as a controller. How about a break?
Is there a windows 10 desktop app that works with the SonosONE? IF yes, where do I find it?
I am frustrated with the continuous need to keep updating Sonos software in the name of adding yet more functionality most of which I am convinced the majority of Sonos consumers simply never use. It seems like you just cannot stop tinkering with the Sonos product. I want to listen to my music on a stable Sonos platform without having to keep updating the software. The latest update required me to set up a Sonos account which I didn't want to do. There was no opt-out. It took me about 45 minutes to implement the update, possibly because living in the countryside I have slow internet. But I am sure others are in the same boat. I simply do not want or need any more functionality. Listen to your customers and stop tinkering with it. If you want to introduce more functionality then give simple customers like me the option not to install it. And if the reason for an update is to fix bugs then try testing the software more thoroughly before you release an update. I don't have to keep taking
I know it's been asked before but I'd like to know if setting a maximum volume will be available soon. Sometimes, I hit the volume bar and the speakers blast. I live in a condo so.... Not really ideal.
about 70% of the time use my SOnos i have to do some update or another and it takes several minutes... every time and half of that is of checcking after it has already told me it has one to do Ge guys - i want it when i want it - and dont want my wife having to try to manage updates and re-authentications each month please get smarter
On certain Chromebook devices, Android apps are now natively supported in the stable channel of Chrome OS, albeit Google are still labelling this Play Store support as beta: https://9to5google.com/2016/09/27/chromebook-pixel-android-apps-play-store/ I thought I'd give this a whirl to see how this would help me drive my Sonos devices from my Chromebook Pixel: 1. The Google Play Music (GPM) Android app appears to work great and can cast to Sonos. The casting to Sonos from my Chromebook now works just as well as casting from my phone or table. And, unlike the old ARC way of running Android apps on Chrome OS, this is lighting fast and doesn't appear to be eating CPU cycles or battery. The GPM Android app runs full screen on my Chromebook, looks great and appears as usable and functional as the GPM web app - but with the benefit of now being able to cast to Sonos, something which was/is not possible from the web app. Result! Nice work Google. GPM app running on Chrome OS casting to Sono

Hi Is it possible to have an alarm where the volume gradually increases until a defined level? Would be great to have as an alarm to wake you up :8 /Picht
My son moved into my home bringing his own Sonos device. When he logged on with his account, all Sonos devices in my house which were registered on my account suddenly where registered under his account and had to transfer ownership to my account to get access again. How is this possible? He did not have access to my account. How can this be prevented?
My PC-based contoller loses connection with the Sonos network from time to time and I also get messages that my connection with my wireless network printer is getting lost. I'm wondering whether the wireless link with the printer and link with the Sonos network are conflicting somehow?
The Sonos Controller for Mac looks like it was designed in the 1990s, the interface of the iPhone/iPad app is so much better to use and nicer to look at. Why has this not been updated?? When with the Mac Controller be updated? it can't be that big of a job to reskin it . . . ?
I can start playing music on my controller (iOS 12), on both Apple Music and Spotify. However, the controller does not show what music is playing, and I can't stop playback using the controller with the regular controls. I can only stop it with the buttons on the speaker, and by deselecting my room in the controller. I have submitted diagnostic report no 1127951674. I have 2 Sonos One configured as a stereo pair. I initiate playback using the controller app, search function, from Spotify, Apple Music or the phone's library, with the same result. This is what the controller looks like (while the speakers are playing):
Reading a review of v 9.2 both Engadget at Mac World talk about our new ability to set a Max Volume in a roon, yet I see no way to accomplish this. Any suggestions?
I've got this option with the new upgrade.
Hello, Bit of a strange problem. Every once in a while grouping two rooms fails but only when I want to play TV. Setup: Sonos Beam + 2x Sonos Play 1s (surround mode) is room 1 2x Sonos Play 5 (1st Gen) is room 2 Sonos Boost for the separate network (to prevent interference) Since the possibility of delaying TV audio, the lip sync problem is gone and when it works, it works great. However, sometimes the audio disappears from room 2. No matter what I do, it will not come back without resetting the entire (!) setup. If I select music as the input, all is fine and the rooms group without problems. Going back to TV input and the grouping is gone. Diagnostic report: 1531067030 (TV input - no sound on room2) Diagnostic report: 1171627492 (Audio input, grouping working just fine) Would be great to get a quick fix for this, as resetting the system is a royal PITA. Thanks! Henk
A couple of features I think are absolutely necessary for this system. I have 15+ speakers in a couple different rooms and would love the ability to control the volume more accurately through the app. 1-Mute button. Hit it once and the volume is locked so that it will not go up/down based on group volume changes (when speakers are grouped) Hit the mute button again and it mutes the speakers as it does now. Another way to do this is to create a sub group of speakers in a larger group that are playing the same source but have a different volume, sound, etc. 2- Preset volume limits. I have a couple Play One/1's in sensitive, smaller areas. I would like those to have a set limit volume. (Again, this is when in a group) When the group volume is changed, the volume of these specific speakers would not change.
