My Sonos controller will not launch the Sonos app on my Desktop PC. It has been working fine for over a year now. I have a seperete I Pad and the controller is working fine on this machine but as my music library is stored on my Desktop PC I cannot add new music. The system is happy to play my songs from the Sonos App in my library. I downloaded the latest Installer to my Desktop PC with the same result. I get the introductory Black screen but the controller will not launch. Any help appreciated
I just took the new update form Sonos for both the ios and macbook and now i cannot control the volume or mute from the Mac but the iPhone still works. Any ETA on a fix?
when i got home and noticed the update was available i went ahead and began the process. It was taking forever so at some point i force closed the app. when i re-opened the app i was prompted to once again install the update. I did notice that one of speaker did take the update but the other rooms were still on 9.1. I tried again with no luck, the process never gets past the first step. I even tried letting it install overnight and it looks like it just timed out on my phone and no other speaker took the update. Any suggestions?
I cannot express how deeply dissapointed I'm in Sonos that without warning or choice my CR100 is not working anymore! I loved that i had a dedicated device to browse through my library, please give that back! The app on the phone is not even approaching the good old CR-100! Some examples: - The app needs to log on again after a while. - The physical hard wired controls are great and work much better than fidling around in the app. - Browsing with the jog wheel through your library is so much better than on a screen - I don't want to pass my tablet/ phone to friends when you have a get to getter. - I spent a lot of money on components, a dedicated controller should be an option. And really... it should be the easiest thing for sonos to develope you did it before! all techniques are there already! What to do now.. wanted to extent my system but serious doubting to sell it and migrate to B&O Beo sound.. Maybe with next update my play 3 will stop working..... no the
..........and once again, the system totally craps out after an update...........thanks SONOS
I bought a Pioneer VSX-LX103 today and and am trying to get it to work with my SONOS ZP80 (which I believe is the old version of the SONOS Connect). The LX103 is listed as being supported by "Works with SONOS" http://sonos.pioneerhomeusa.com. I get it home from Best Buy, install the latest firmware on the receiver and then follow the instructions here - http://sonos.pioneerhomeusa.com/assets/PioneerElite+Sonos-01.mp4 I get to the step to select the Connected Device under Hardware > Works with SONOS but the ZP80 is not found. I've tried everything, connecting to different RCA inputs (everything except Phono because the video says that doesn't work) but all to no avail. The ZP80 is on the same wifi network as the receiver and I've updated my SONOS system today. Really frustrated as this was one of the major drivers for me buying the Pioneer in the first place. It could be that the ZP80 isn't compatible with the "Works with SONOS" feature, but I can't afford to get a newer Connect o
Hi, I am new to the Sonos app. How do I shuffle all songs from all albums? Right now I only have an amazon account and I added all of my albums to "my Sonos", but I can only shuffle 1 album or multiple albums from 1 artist. I've searched this forum and a number of people mentioned adding albums to a queue, but I can't figure that out either. When I play one album it queue's those songs. If I start to play another album it queue's those songs, but does not remember the previous queue'd songs. I also don't want to have to individually add every album to a queue. Is there an easy way to just shuffle all of the songs in my Sonos library?
I have now noticed that there is the option to disable WiFi under room settings for each device. Was this recently added through an update? Does anyone know if this permanently disables the WiFi or does it need to be disabled every time there is a new update? I have 2 connects, one connect:amp, and 1 play:1
I have a first generation apple IPad. Is there any way I can update it to use Sonos controller? Thank you.
App (Windows) does not say "Set up new system" - it just says "Learn how to set up new system"
I realise that there has been a fair bit of feedback on the controller app recently, especially since the 9.2 update but I just wanted to provide my own feedback and what I believe are shortcomings of the app. Firstly, to explain my usage - I've had a couple of Sonos Ones for almost a year now and overall absolutely love them. I predominately listen to locally stored music (plus radio as an alarm in the mornings) but not streamed music. I work from home at a PC, so have music on all day every day and therefore mainly use the PC app during the week and the mobile app at weekends. I realise that the above probably makes me in the minority - not streaming music and not using the mobile app as much, but there you go. I feel that the controller has quite a few shortcomings that I would like to share, with the hope that some of these could be addressed over time; 1 - I realise that the 65k song limit is more to do with the hardware than the software and if there are any changes to t
Two of the play 1 and the play 3 we have cannot be found after recent app update. I do not see under the manage tab, where you use to be able to add a play or sub. The 13 other play 1 are working.
On the following page (https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1230?language=en), it says this new feature works with Beam, One, Playbase, and Play 5. Then, it says: You can also group any other Sonos speaker with an AirPlay 2 compatible Sonos speaker for multi-room playback. If that’s the case, then a Play 1 would receive the sound when it’s networked with a compatible speaker. Given that, I just don’t understand why the Play 1 doesn’t work by itself alone with AirPlay when it’s just a firmware update. I received that update, so why not use it on all speakers?
When you wake up by using an alarm with a playlist, the system changes the repeat list to “repeat” . This happens irrelevant of the list or alarm duration. My daugther wakes up with a playlist and goes to bed with a story. Every nigth we need to remember to go 1) remember this silly feature 2) go in the room menu, hit the show playlist button, press the repeat button 3 times. Failing to this results in the story repeating itself for the entire night... Am I missing something or this is really how it is supposed to works? Roch
I have a Sonos Bridge and play 5 since 2014 and I'm no longer able to use them since on all my devices I get 'The software on this device is outdated.... ' I tried to update the controller via the PC and now the bridge and play 5 are at version 9.2 but still not able to connect with any of my android devices. How do I get it back working and use what I have paid for even if it means using the previous software as it was working just fine for me and I had no issue until this upgrade was forced.
I'm trying to reduce the amount of WiFi signal emitted in my home. But I believe that the speakers still try to connect via WiFi, even if ethernet is connected? Is that true? If so, how can I disable WiFi? I found a website with instructions but it appears they're no longer applicable.
Error in desktop controller
Just decided to play some music only to discover all the album tracks are listed and play in alphabetcal order. How do I change this? At the moment, Sgt.Pepper STARTS with A Day In The Life!!!
I have been having Wifi issues and switched over to a Boost system. Running Sonos from my wired in PC appears fine, it will talk to ALL speaks across a 3 story house, however I can no longer get my phone (iphone) to connect to the new Sonos wifi. Does anybody else have this issue...if so please do you have any advice on how you fixed it. I'm bored of having to run down two flights of stairs to use, what should be, a wire less system...? Thanks
I installed the new Sonos Beam through the latest Android app on my OnePlus Five phone without a problem. Yesterday, suddently, the Sonos app for Android continuously crashes and is useless. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app, but nothing helps.
I have a Sonos Connect. Version: 9.2 (build 46357250) Hardware Version: 1.16.5.5-2 Series ID: P100 Previously I've been able to change the volume output setting between fixed and variable. This is no longer available in Preferences. Does anybody know where to find it?
I have a Sonos Connect and 3 Sonos wireless speakers. I primarily use this as sound for my TV and DVD, which are wired to the Connect with the RCA connectors in the back and are shown in the Apt as "Line-In." I was advised when I set this up, about 3 years ago, that there might be a slight delay in the sound witht the direct Line-In, but there never was. After an "update" a few months ago, the entire system was not working and I let it be. Now, with some help from support I've got everything back up and working well, except - I guess after the update because everything else is exactly the same - there now is almost a 2 second(!) delay in the sound, which makes it impossible to watch a DVD or TV. Since we got the Sonos, my wife and I have watched a lot of DVDs with the sound just coming from the Sonos speakers, and I've had a lot of friends over to watch football games (including 2 or 3 big Superbowl parties) using the Sonos and it always worked so well. Now, well right now it's a
Like many people, I periodically upgrade my iPhone to take advantage of newer features. The replaced iPhone then becomes a Sonos controller. I have two such iPhones, sitting in charger cradles next to the easy chair in the main listening room, and on the nightstand in the bedroom for the bedroom Sonos Connect. However, now for the second time, Sonos has dropped support for one of the iPhones (OS version no longer supported). I don't pretend to understand the complexity of supporting a controller on an older iOS version, but it doesn't make me happy not to be able to use perfectly good hardware as a controller. How about a break?
Is there a windows 10 desktop app that works with the SonosONE? IF yes, where do I find it?
I am frustrated with the continuous need to keep updating Sonos software in the name of adding yet more functionality most of which I am convinced the majority of Sonos consumers simply never use. It seems like you just cannot stop tinkering with the Sonos product. I want to listen to my music on a stable Sonos platform without having to keep updating the software. The latest update required me to set up a Sonos account which I didn't want to do. There was no opt-out. It took me about 45 minutes to implement the update, possibly because living in the countryside I have slow internet. But I am sure others are in the same boat. I simply do not want or need any more functionality. Listen to your customers and stop tinkering with it. If you want to introduce more functionality then give simple customers like me the option not to install it. And if the reason for an update is to fix bugs then try testing the software more thoroughly before you release an update. I don't have to keep taking
