I upgraded the Sonos app on one of my phones to 9.0. Now I find that I have to have a Sonos "user account" registered before I'm allowed to use the app with my Sonos HT system. My controller app no longer gives me the ability to control my system. Looking through the FAQ I find the question "Why is it mandatory to create a Sonos account and register my system?" The answer given is "We believe creating a password-protected, verified, account is a reasonable precaution to take and decided to make it a requirement for all Sonos customers." "Its mandatory because we believe it should be done" is not a reason. Why would I need a password protected account to use something that was perfectly useable without it? What am I being protected from by all this nonsense? Fortunately my Mac app is still working but its a pain to use and not very convenient when all I want to do is turn speech enhancement on or off during a movie. I can't carry my computer around the house with me and use it
When the Sonos:One was released, we were told Google Assistant support was coming "in 2018". Now, Sonos Beam's press materials say Google Assistant will come "in the future". Pair that with the suggestion in the media that Google was coerced into the partnership by some kind of legal consideration (https://voicebot.ai/2018/05/18/sonos-patent-portfolio-used-to-persuade-google-to-allow-a-multi-assistant-device/). Sonos team, is this still slated to happen in 2018? Will it be full Google Assistant support, or will it be minimal support due to Google being a reluctant partner? Hoping for the best. Thanks!
When I go to bed, I set a 1 hour timer, streaming Pandora via Sonos on iPhone 6s Plus running iOS 12. the timer never stops the music, and continues to play throughout the night. Diagnostic sent: 1496839590
Ok I have my Sonos app open and music playing. While working in another program, if I need to turn down, turn up, or mute the volume I have to select the Sonos app, and either move the slidebar or Ctrl+ or Ctrl- to change the volume level. I searched the internet on how to use my PC volume controls to control the Sonos app volume no matter what program I am using. I found this (https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/89596-control-sonos-system-volume-without-interrupting-your-work/), but I do not have a clue how to go in the registry and change all this, and I do not want to mess things up, so I will not even attempt. I also found this (https://en.community.sonos.com/controllers-software-228995/allow-pc-volume-to-control-sonos-volume-5447077), and the two answers given the links no longer work. Can anyone point me to somewhere or tell me how this can be done? Thank you
This took awhile to lock in, hopefully this helps others. 1. Set up the playbar on the tv as a Denon and use remote type 3 2. In the Sonos app, set up the LG remote 3. For the Tivo remote, hold mute & tivo button and type in code 1234
After updating to 9.1, the alarm fade in stopped working. Have it set on a radio station, which now starts in full volume. Anyone having same issue and possible suggestions?
I can not access the Music Library Settings under the Manage tab. I'm running OS X 10.10 and Sonos 9.1 I've just added the controller to my Mac Book Pro ( already have it on an iMac) Any pointers????
Dear sonos-developers, Are there any plans to release an SONOS Apple watch app in the near future? I hope so!
I’m happy that I can now control my Sonos devices through Siri on my iPhone, but I’m given an error message when trying to execute the same command on my iWatch. Is this expected?
Is it just me but I am sad that the dock will be of no use after the next software update. Yes yes I know it's been out there a long time but for me who has 1000's & 1000's of CD worth of music on my trusted iPhone/iPod that is my main source of music will no longer be supported, sure I can use the inline to play but it mean I have to keep touching the iPhone/iPod to select music as the CR200 will just be a volume control at this point, (oh don't get me started that the CR200 will be next to get bricked). I have been a sonos user from the very beginning and owing so many of there products and seeing so many of my favorite hardware go bye bye it's sad sure time has change for better but for us who is completely satisfied we should have to go out and buy new products if we really don't need to jus to keep up with the Jones's. I guess I can just not update as most of all the new update does not apply to any of my hardware and maybe it will keep working. If I am forced upgrade and what I h
So.. after being FORCED to update the app my system is now completely unusable. EVERY TIME I start the app it tells me I need to update. An update which, by the way, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY EQUIPMENT I HAVE!! I cannot access the account because the app only allows me to reset the password. This is on EVERY handset I have. So.. I cannot log in on any of my Android devices. My entire music library is now not playable on any of my speakers. WTF have you done!!?? What idiot thought this update was a good idea? YTF do you have to FORCE users to update an app that was working perfectly well when the update DOES NOT APPLY? Well done. You have now rendered my system entirely useless.
I would like to be able to quickly switch from a few "configurations" of speakers. That would allow me, for example, to easily group the living room, dining room and kitchen, then ungroup them to play the TV in living room (and avoid echo sound). Saving the volume as well would be very useful too: When sitting in one room, I must re-tweak the volume of each speaker of the apartment to get a great sound in that room. Is that possible? If not how do I request this? 😛
I have tired all the "solutions" I found here (Manage --> Update Music Library Now as well as deleting music folder and relinking from the settings tab). Neither is working. My playlists show up, but they are "older" versions (newly added music is not showing up). For example, I have a playlist titled "Love it". In iTunes it contains 499 songs currently. I tried both updating and also deleting/relinking the entire music folder but the "Love it" playlist still contains the old number of songs that were in that playlist (434). It's like the music files are not truly being removed from Sonos when I delete the folder from the library and then link to it again. I just verified that my iTunes Music Library XML file has a current date and there is only one iTunes Music Library XML file in my music folder. A search in Sonos for songs I know are new (they are showing in iTunes on the "Love it" playlist and should have been added) are still not showing up. I run Sonos off my PC and my mus
Looks interesting. Wonder if it properly supports stereo pairs? Also, can it use Siri to search Music? http://www.thegarageinnovation.com/suono/index.html
I've gotten notifications for several updates in the past few weeks. I have a Sonos at home and at work, and this is making for a ton of work because I have to do double the work. Is it possible to consolidate multiple updates into one release? The other issue is, in certain instances, I have to reconnect to my sonos (i.e. press the volume up & mute). Not sure what's going on. I love my sonos speakers, but these updates are killing me.
Since I downloaded the recent updates my system has become unusable. Is anyone else having the same issues?
Please consider the following suggestions for the next release: 1.) Add a Search function within the "Queue" to enable us to search for a track, artist, or album without having to scroll up and down to find the song we want to play and without having to re-add the song to the queue, thus creating duplicates. 2.) Related to suggestion #1 above, if we do add a track that's already existing in the Queue, it would be nice if Sonos tells us that it already exists in the queue to prevent duplicates and give us an option to play it now or play it next instead without having to add it to the queue again. 3.) When selecting "Replace Queue" from the drop down list, it would be nice if Sonos reverts back to the old design where it did not automatically start playing the songs in the queue. That's what "Play Now" and "Play Next" are for. Thank you!
Is it possible for Sonos to use Testflight to allow testing of beta controller software by IOS users? There is a limit of 2000 testers, but I'm sure this could be managed. I'd like to contribute to beta testing for IOS devices and I'm sure others would too. Cheers, Peter.
Hi all, Since installing 9.1 on my system, I've been having an issue with the app whilst listening to music. If say I've got the current track screen up and then take focus away from the app and go back, the current song screen is totally blank. I've got to tap something else in the app and go back for it to "refresh" the details. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Hi, I can play my sonos system through the app on my phone, but my PC controller says it can't connect to the system "Sorry we can't connect to Sonos". I checked and both PC and phone are on the same network. How can i get the PC controller to work?
I have some music apps which have playlist, albums which I listen more than a radio station. Also i want to watch YouTube video and listen to them through sonos speaker. Pls advise
Will the Homepod show up in the Sonos App itself as a speaker to select? It didn't for me and I'm wondering if this is due to an error on my end?
It would be very useful to have Sonos remember playback position for audiobook files. This is a setting in iTunes. Why can't this be implemented in Sonos? Supposedly this is implemented for aa files, but not all audiobooks are aa files, I have many in mp3, m4a and m4b format. If this can be done for aa, why not the other formats?
My old laptop died today and I was using sonos through that. I have downloaded the app on another laptop which was fine but it cant find the speakers, however I have connected my mobile successfully at the same time. as the new laptop is using the wi-fi already I don't understand why it cant find the speakers?
