Just been browsing the forum to see what others have done with the limit on how many tracks Sonos can index, and there’s a few suggestions, but I was wondering if anyone has come up with a definitive easy to follow guide.
Is there away of controlling bad language content or parental controls on Sonos Radio? Listening to Alternative Energy on the new Sonos Radio service but have stopped using it because several of the songs Played have bad language. We have children and it’s not an acceptable risk to leave radio playing.
If I played songs from spotify in the old app I could hit the three dots and select "play next". That is gone and only"play song" remains. If I add the song to "my sonos" then i get that option. However is there a way to avoid this two step process. The "play next" option is there if I select a song from my phone itself. I have read a couple questions on this and after 5 reads still dont follow. Any help would be great as I loved to add songs as I search quickly.
: "When using the songs app, to search albums, the scroll bar, on the right of the screen is prevented from progressing to the bottom of the screen, by the pop up window, showi g which track was last being played. The window acts as a 'physical block, which the scroll bar cannot pass through. How can this be corrected, please?
Hi I am currently running Sonos 8.3 (and have had no issues). I think I may have to migrate to Sonos S1 - as I am getting a new computer shortly. That means my 6 old CR100’s will no longer work. But I know I can use the CR200’s. I haven’t bought any yet - but (of course) I can get CR200’s cheap. So my question is - will the new S1 software recognize them and install them without any issues - or do I have to become NEW SCHOOL Brian? I have managed to resist change for a long time! Thanks for all your help in this matter. Brian
Hi,In need of some help. I have Sonos Move and Sonos one in my living room. Both connected to router and SmartThings hub, with Alexa voice assistant and Spotify as streaming service. I control the speakers predominantly through the Sonos App for music selection, volume control etc. The problem is the app (iOS) keeps showing unable to connect. I’ve tried all the troubleshoot steps but to no avail. On top of this Every now and then one of the speakers will disappear from the system all together until I reset them/or reset the router. it’s become almost impossible to enjoy the speakers. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
SURELY there is a way to shuffle all CD tracks or albums in a personal library without having to individually add CDs or songs to a playlist by now??!! The posts I found related to this topic are all several years old and I have brand new Sonos equipment.
I’ve just updated my Sonos app to Sonos 1 and now having a problem using ifttt through Alexa. I wondered whether it might be caused by moving to the new Sonos 1 app. Can anyone clarify?
I have a Amazon Fire Stick hooked up to a HDMI to audio adapter, then hooked up to a Sonos Play 5 with the aux in port. Sounds awesome. The only problem is that to control the volume you have to use the Sonos app or Alexa. Is there any way to adjust the Sonos volume with a normal TV remote - or preferably the Amazon fire controller?
I use Apple Music (my reasons don’t matter) and I have a number of older Sonos products - mostly the the 5 Sonos Connects that I paid a lot to have installed to stream music throughout my house. Since these older devices cannot support Apple Airplay2, I cannot stream from the Apple Music app to them. So, I am stuck with the horrible, terrible, bordering on useless Sonos app and its poor, poor, poor integration with Apple Music. Can someone recommend a solution to this? Sonos support suggested grouping rooms with my other devices that do support Airplay2, but of course that does not work in my house, for a reason I cannot figure out. After trying 5 times even Sonos support gave up. I need some hope and a better solution.
With recent updates starting from Sonos 2 the app seems buggy across all platforms (IOS and Mac desktop). The app will fail to find the system if it has not been connected for a few days. To fix this I’ve ended up uninstalling the app and re-installing and rebooting my router. Other issues are the app is unresponsive at times or there’s significant lag in between when controls on the app are modified and the Sonos system responds. This seems a very significant step backward. I’ve recommended Sonos systems to my friends and families but with the current state of the things, I would be very hesitant to do that now. This all seems tied to the recent changes to collect more user data. Recommend Sonos put the customer first and make sure that collecting data doesn’t impact performance.
Love the Sonos Radio Channels. How does one request new “Local Stations”.My pick is WLIR-FM (wlir.fm)Thank you!
Firstly, let me say the the sound quality is fantastic. But, the Sonos App literally has the worst search feature I have ever used. For a service that cost so much money, it is absolutely criminal that the search feature is so terrible. I have used both Spotify and Apple Music, and regardless of service you use, the Sonos platform is ***. No most popular songs, entire albums missing, mixtapes or compilations coming before important or famous albums, and just straight up not having the same search results as when you use the Apple Music or Spotify interface. I am THIS close to selling my Sonos system and getting something else. I am a fairly relaxed person, but HOLY COW does my blood pressure rise when I use the Sonos platform. DO BETTER! I PAID SO MUCH MONEY FOR YOUR PRODUCT. MAKE AN APP THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTH BUYING YOUR SPEAKER. PLEASE!
I’ve scoured the forum and still cannot find a clear answer to this. Most of the very interesting commentary is from pre-S2 threads about a year ago. I currently use Sonos Amp connected to Episode 8” outdoor ceiling mounted speakers. Sonos Amp is connected to the router via Cat6. So which is giving me better sound quality? Casting via Airplay from the Amazon Music HD app or running directly through the S2 app?I read the consensus from a year ago that casting from the Amazon HD app was not giving even CD quality and that you needed to use the Sonos App. But has S2 and firmware upgrades or upgrades to the integration between Sonos and Amazon Music HD changed anything? I cannot find any current info as to which app is better to run Amazon from. To my ears, casting via Airplay using the Amazon HD app sounds better. I really wish the S2 app would give an indication as to what quality it was streaming at. Thanks!
Having been a happy Sonos user for 15 years, I would like to suggest you pay more attention to the way the app fine-tunes the volume level in connected zones. It continues to be quite hard to control and after having set all connected zones and changing the level for the group, the relative individual levels seem to mess up again. A topic ready for thorough redesign in your next sprint. Thanks!
My Sonos app doesn’t run in my iPhone 11 Pro
Is there a way to output iPad Djay 3 to Sonos system?
Hello! I have got a issue in the last month. The app itself has a lots of bugs. Its slow and so on. And a few times everyday some of my speakers is gone??. But my girlfriend can still se them on her iphone? If a do a router reset it may work for some minutes but after a while its the same? Any solution for this or tips? // David
I’ve been a Sonos user for a long time now, and though I love the convenience, have also, for a long time, found myself missing the experience of browsing a physical collection, or even using the “tile” view in iTunes to queue up albums.I find the PC app, (and also the mobile apps) quite restrictive in how I can view and sort my collection. In iTunes, I could use the “tile” view to see the cover of many albums at once and scroll through until I found something I wanted to listen to - since moving to an Android phone, I use MusicBee to do a similar job. To browse albums on Sonos’ software shows around 10 albums at once, and the artwork is quite small, and is fixed that way. This is slightly better on a tablet, but still not as good as iTunes/MusicBee. I know it’s possible to to browse by genre too, but by default that seems to browse via artist, not album. It also means that each album can only belong to a single category, so couldn’t, for example, be a part of a list of “Hip Hop” album
I have a Motorola Z3 Play mobile that has just had a new motherboard fitted as part of a repair. Since then the Sonos S1 App works for a few hours but then keeps closing. I have to uninstall and reinstall daily.Other apps working fine.
I have multiple Sonos accounts (home, office, condo) and would like to have an app for each on my iPhone rather than logging out and then logging in to a different account each time I change locations. Can I put more than one Sonos app on my iPhone and name them differently?
I have 2 x play 3 set up in stereo that I bought to listen to MY music. When I first bought them I could listen via the ‘on my device’ app. That went, but then I found google play as a free service, now that’s going, I transferred my music to Youtube Music. Even though it’s a free service, it won’t work through SONOS app without a subscription!!! (which I refuse to purchase). Question: Is there any way I can still listen to my music without a subscription service or are my SONOS speakers now paper weights? Cheers.Note: airplay won’t work with play 3
If I have Spotify playing on one of my bases in my house I cannot play it separately on my phone while I workout? I put on sleep music for my newborn in his room then try to play something to workout to on my phone through my beats and it pauses my sons music. Is there a way to do both?
Hello, The Sonos mini controller window won’t appear on my Mac. I started having trouble prior to the recent update to 11.1/56076060, perhaps a couple of months ago. I waited, before reporting the problem, to see if an update to the Sonos controller fixed the problem, and the update to 11.1 I performed yesterday did not fix it. I don’t know if the problem occurred due to a macOS update or a Sonos controller update. I am running macOS Catalina version 10.15.4/19E287. Please advise. Thanks! Donald
Can downloaded mp3 files be placed on the SONOS S1 iMac controller music library, adding song name and artist ?
