I have the sonos app on my phone and the volume control stays on my home page all the time and it is using my iPhone power. How can I turn it of thanks liz
Hi thereI know that it is possible to disable the volume control via the touch controls on the devices themselves, but I am actually looking for the opposite solution. Here is the thing: I have Sonos players all around my house, including in the restrooms. Come party time, I group all players to play the same music. During the night, the group volume will be changed up and down depending on the mood. However, I would like the volume of the players in the restrooms (and a few other zones) to stay constant. They should basically play all night with the same (low) volume, and it should only be possible to change the volume via the physical buttons (typically once and for all before the guests arrive). All the other zones should be able to be controlled by the app as usual. Is this possible? I think it would be a very useful feature.Thanx in advance for any suggestions/help :-)Best regards,Jørgen
Over the last couple of months I have been creating a playlist on the Sonos app, from my music library on my iphone, without any problems.Suddenly just after Christmas I could no longer find the playlist on my phone or my ipad, which are both running the new app.Today I updated the app on my windows 10 PC and the playlist was there, but still not on the ios devices.I added the playlist to Favourites on the PC app and it then appeared on my ipad app, but still not on the iphone app.Has anybody else had similar problems, or am I missing something?
Is it true that subscribing to Tidal’s more expensive stream is a waste of money because my Sonos Port at S2 cannot handle 24 bit or MQA streams? thanks
Hi! Just wondering if there have been any suggestions of adding av «quick toggle» surronund on off in the main «arc» controll page? I think that would be an great controll to add, for when i am just watching news on the tv.
Just this morning on my new laptop I downloaded the Windows desktop app. This seems to have caused an issue with my system that was working ‘fine’ with the S1 app. Now 4 out of 5 of my rooms are showing Incompatible as an issue. I then try and update and I get Error code 9. I do not want to remove 4 rooms and reinstall - mainly because it is a major faff - especially setting up Alexa again. Any advice would be welcomed.
Hi all. Referenced other similar posts but none had the answer. Current system is a Five, a Play:3, and Arc (+Sub+One SLs for surround). WiFi is Orbi Mesh system. App installed on my and my wife’s iPhones. Everything works perfectly except we can’t seem to access her Amazon Unlimited playlists from either of our Sonos apps - only my playlists. I have a family account for Amazon Music Unlimited, allowing each person to have their own playlists and collection. I authorized Amazon Music Unlimited on her Sonos app using her own login. It still only shows my Amazon account within the Adonis app and it’s not clear how to switch to her Amazon account. Has anyone had any success with similar scenarios? Does she need an individual Sonos account? That didn’t even really appear as an option during install. When we put the Sonos app on her phone, it just asked if we wanted to add her to an existing system and said ‘yes’. To authorize her Amazon account, I did use my Sonos credentials on the Sonos
As long as I am reading the press release correctly 24 bit files can only played locally, correct? Does anyone know when further bit rates will be incorporated? I would like to get the most out of Qobuz and Amazon Music HD. Thank you!
I visited a friend with a Sonos system that had an alarm set up in the morning. When I was there I got notifications on my phone when this alarm started. Now, I am home and connected to my own Sonos-system but the alarm notifications keep coming every morning.I have checked the app, and there are no alarms listed. The speaker/room name that shows up in the notification does not exist on my own system, only on my friends system. Both systems run on the S1-app due to older speakers.Any ideas on how to fix this?
Sonos worked fine through my Macbook (10.15.7) a few days ago but now having issues. System work fine through iPhone. When app opens I get the below messages. It can’t find the system so I reset the app and try to join my system. The app says it sees the system but then when I press done I get the message about a product being unplugged.Wen looking into the system it only shows the one SL speaker rather than both (which is visible on the iOS app).I have removed the app and re-installed. I have rebooted both SL’s. I have checked the wi-fi network and they’re all on the only one I have.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks (Diolch - Welsh)Daniel
I have one Connect which I’d like to remove to upgrade to S2. I updated the app to Sonos S1 and downloaded the new app. If I launch the new app, it finds the system and it asks to launch Sonos S1, which I did. They system upgraded to version 11.2, but under Settings > System there is no button to remove the non S2-compatible product. What to do? Just wait?
I was listening to Sunset Fuzz today and they played a gorgeous song that I’d like to track down. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a track list for the songs they already played, and googling the only phrase I remember (something like “I won’t stop til I buy your land”) didn’t get me any hits. Is there any way to find a track listing for Sonos Radio channels? I know the one I’m looking for played at ~2:30pm Pacific Time Jan 1st. Thanks in advance
HiI’ve been using Sonos on my Mac for several years, with my music stored on an external drive. All was well until I updated to Catalina last year -- Sonos could not access the drive. I think this issue was well documented on this site. I tried adding every privilege recommended by Sonos stuff, never worked. So I moved my music library to the main drive on my iMac (late 2015).Now that Big Sur is here, I wanted to check if anyone has had better luck? The external drive is a WD MyBook 2TB formatted with MacOS Extended Journaling. I checked my main drive, and I see two things: it’s formatted to AFPS, and the Music folder on it has an additional right that the WD doesn’t have:The external drive is missing the first bit. I’m not sure if this is new in Big Sur or not.So, I haven’t tried anything yet, but would appreciate any input from other Mac users. Thanks,David
TLDR: Sonos Bridge shows up on S2 app, tells me to download S1. Then doesn’t show on S1 app. Tried multiple phones, looks fine on network. Longer Version:So I have updated everything to S2 for a year or so now, all good. However, recently I decided I wanted to split the system in two - majority on S2, and a single Bridge + Play:1 on S1 (as it’s used for kids room, don’t want to group it by accident - yes, know the limitations this brings). I’ve hard reset both the Bridge and the Play:1, initially I tried just to connect the Play:1 in the S1 app and, while it finds it fine, it errors saying to use the S2 app instead and AFAIK no way around this. So I tried the Bridge, reset, I can see on my network. But I can’t see it on the S1 app at all it just says “Product not found. Move closer to your product and make sure it’s connected to power”. I’ve tried multiple resets, no joy. However, I then opened up the S2 app and it see’s the Bridge, tells me it’s only compatible with S1 Controller and
The wonderfully eclectic, commercial-free deep rock FM radio station KCDX from Arizona streams on TuneIn but Sonos fails to play it, displaying the error message, “the song is not encoded properly.”The KCDX.com website streams in what I’ve seen described as, “that in-line chunked blob object-style format.” Here's the direct URL: http://vdn.terrafox.com/audio/kcdx/playlist.m3u8Is there any way to get this working on Sonos? Doing a search of this forum the same question was posted some time ago with no resolution.
Hello,I would like to listen to my app podcast on iOS on my Sonos One but I can’t enable “group non airplay products”.Also, when I turn on the HomeKit app, add new accessory, skip the code/scan button, nothing shows up...Anyone can help? Thanks,Jean.
I have an iPhone 12. I have a Sonos Move and 2 One SL’s. Heres my problem. I can only control the volume when the App is in the foreground (ie on my screen). When the app is in the foreground I can control it via the hardware on iPhone (ie the volume buttons on the side) or via the slider. On the App I have “Hardware Volume Control” & “Lock Screen Controls “ both turned on (ie to the right). To state the obvious, its all connected via wifi. I have seen some solutions that perhaps what's stopping it is the phone is connected to some other device via bluetooth. Thats not it as if I turn bluetooth off that doesnt fix the problem. If the ONLY wat to control the volume is to have the App open, and in the foreground, thats nuts.Help Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. We’ve removed the ability to control the Sonos app for iOS using lock screen controls and device hardware buttons. The way these features were architected do not meet Apple’s ex
Just in case any Sonos designers check these forums (?), I have one feature request to improve discovery functionality of the S2 app. On the iOS version of S2, it’s possible to find the command “Search for [artist]” when tapping on the “...” button next to the name of the artist that’s currently playing over Sonos Radio. However, on the iPadOS version of S2, this command is missing (see screenshots). (As is the subsequent option to “Add artist to My Sonos”). I can’t imagine that there’s a structural reason for this discrepancy in app design; and it interrupts the otherwise seamless experience of the Sonos system—especially for those of us who see Sonos Radio to discover new music. (As an aside: better integration with Apple Music would also be appreciated. E.g. being able to add albums directly to the Apple Music Library). iPhone app, with discovery function (“Search for..”) iPadOS app lacks same discovery function
Is there a way to remove line in option from the available sources? I have many amps with nothing plugged into the line in port, it’s confusing for other users (parents).
I am running the S1 and have most a fair amount of gen 2 components but am still running a gen1 amp, so I am using s1. I tried to add a new play bar but am being blocked until I upgrade my system. In reading other threads I upgraded to iOS 14.3 and have restarted my router and each Sonos component. I still cannot perform a system upgrade.
Hey Sonos… listen up. You phone app has turned into “Pop-up central” for your HD radio service. I only need to see it once, not every time I get into the app. if I am missing a setting to turn this unwanted advertisements off… I apologize and please let me know what this setting is. If not, please stop the madness. thanks
With the latest update, there appears to be no way to remove Sonos Radio from Services & Voice. The only option is to Reauthorize the service. I don’t care about this service. I don’t want this service, and I don’t want to be forced to see it in my list. Seriously, this may be a deal breaker for me to continue using Sonos.

My Ipad streams audio to my Sonos Beam. How can I stop that from happening?
there is not enough space for song titles in portrait, which is not always needed but it’d be nice to come up to date or at least 2017 with an update to the app that allows the app to rotate
