Just downloaded the s2 app, starting it, tells me that i need an update ‘Sonos found on this netwerk, update your system...’When i hit update i have to login. After login, nothing happens… no update, no error, no message, nothing. I cannot get past this point, it keeps asking me to update and then to login…Unplugging my play:1's and playbar doesn't helpSee also s2-setup-issue-6845804
My Sonos system is connected fine through my PC and Samsung phone but suddenly my iPad IOS 14 app is no longer able to find my Sonos system. I’ve activated the Sonos system through my iPad system settings. I’ve rebooted the router three times. I’ve rebooted the iPad 3 times and reinstalled the iPad 3 times. I’ve tried connecting the router to a speaker with an Ethernet cable and still it cannot find my Sonos system. The system continues to work through my PC and Samsung phone. It has been working fine and I have made no changes to the system. All other wireless devices working fine.
Ho due case, una dove ci vivo e un’altra in campagna con più sistemi sonos si può usare lo stesso login in due case separate?
Anyone know what the latest update did from a few days ago? Do not see any release notes, just 12.2.2.
Would love to have the ability to have grouped speakers at equal volume in a quick way, with aclick instead of having to scrub the two to match.
Evening all.I’ve now upgraded all my old gear and gone full S2.Not greatly worried by the value/promises/what’s to come debate BUT, would love to hear your audio assessment before any after of going Amazon HD on S2 please. All my boxes ( Connect Amp’s and a Port & several SW’s) are linked to B&W CCM 684’s and 682’s and are hard wired RJ45..Simple question …. can you tell the difference? Before Amazon HD and after going Amazon HD on an S2 system? And how big of an improvement is it?Thanks
I recently purchased an M1 MacBook Pro with OS Big Sur. When I migrated my files from my prior 2011 MacBook Pro and updated/reinstalled the Sonos1 app, everything worked well except that my Playlists were not imported. I spent a long time on chat with Sonos, who directed me to various bits of information on the topic. Basically, it seemed that when Apple switched from iTunes to Apple Music with OS Catalina, the relationship between the music files and the xml files that support Playlists was disconnected. So they wanted me to find the correct xml files (iTunesMusicLibrary.xml) and add them as a folder in the Music Library. But they didn’t know where they were. I looked in the new Music files. There is a file called iTunesMusicLibrary.xml, but when I added it, nothing happened. Sonos suggested I call Apple to find out where the files were.So I called Apple. Their support department was worthless. First I did a chat, going through all the issues. That took a long time. I basically asked
Hi, am a bit confused about this one. Have got hold of a CR200 off a mate, but the touch screen isn't working. Am looking to get 30% discount on a Beam but clearly can't integrate the CR200 into my Sonos setup....is there another way of doing this, via the serial number perhaps?
Is the inability to cast YouTube music directly to sonos speakers a Sonos issue or a YouTube music issue?
I know this has come up multiple times but when searching in the forum, it doesn’t find the threads. Why is the SONOS app so awful? Honestly, it is the worst app I’ve ever used. Issues:Loading the app can take forever Playing a Sirius channel never works - it always says that channel is no longer available. I have to click another one, play it for a bit, then change to the one I want Some times it won’t play anythingI have spent a lot of money on all my SONOS equipment and I love the system. I am baffled by how awful the app is. Note: I had an android app and now back to apple and they are equally bad. The apple app might actually be worse.
Hi there! I recently updated my two Play:1 speakers which required an update to the 12.2.23 version of the app. That’s all fine and I have created a Sonos account, added my own Spotify account and all has worked well.Where I am experiencing an issue is having my housemate’s Apple Music account added as a service so he can use the Sonos too. If I go to add it through my Sonos app, it requires Apple login details and I don’t use Apple Music as a service, and also, he wants to use his account which is where his playlists etc are kept. When he opens up the same app on his phone, Sonos has a login screen requiring him to sign into my Sonos account. There is no option for him to create his own Sonos account on this screen nor can we find a way to create one anywhere else through his app or even change the user logged in.The previous iteration of the Sonos app never required Sonos logins and so we have never experienced this issue. Previously we had both Spotify and Apple on the same system,
When I play music via Spotify I can go to the next song by double tapping the play/pause button of my Sonos. Is it possible to switch between radio stations somehow in the same way?I have added 4 radio stations to “My stations” and would like to be able to switch between them without getting my phone out.
Since I installed S2, I’ve seen a few issues on the iPhone app:Sometimes when navigating through menus, the app returns itself to the first navigation item forcing me to again navigate to the item I want. I cannot save TuneIn stations to my TuneIn favorites. The app allows me to select a new favorite, but the station never appears in the favorites. When I move the volume button along the slider, it does not have any effect on the volume, or the change is very slow.I’m hoping maybe someone else has seen similar issues and provide tips.
I have created some playlists. I guess the content is from my Apple Music subscription (?) I have just cancelled with Apple and signed up with Spotify. Will my playlist just pull the playlist content from Spotify, or will I lose them once my Apple subscription ends? Thanks, Kate
HelloMy music library keeps disappearing hours/days after I’ve imported it, and having been able to play music from it. When I try to play something in my music library I get the “No selections are available” error message. The problem is the same using the Sonos S1 Controller on Mac (OS 11.1) and iPhone (iOS 14.3) app.I’ve submitted diagnostics: confirmation number 1533071357.I’ve tried deleting and adding the music folder in the Sonos controller to no avail. Thanks for any tips/suggestions.FB
Hi there. My system includes one Sonos Amp + two Play:1 as LS/RS in Living Room, two Play:3 as stereo pair in Bedroom.Since I have just clean installed Windows 10 on my PC, I need to reinstall Sonos Controller (SonosDesktopController121.exe). Everything works fine, the app finds my existing system, but after that it keeps shutting down within seconds. Every time I start the app it shuts down again. I haven’t had time to do anything with the Controller yet.I have tried an older version (SonosDesktopController1205.exe) but the symtom remains unchanged. My Android app still works fine on both Samsung phones.Any help would be much appreciated.
When a new song starts - it shows up on screen - in the right corner. Who do I turn that off?
About two years ago I requested an option for the Android widget to support transparency. The option is available on all my other Android widgets and I would think a standard practice encouraged by Google. Because the SONOS widget does not support transparency, it sticks out like a sore thumb. This is an easy modification. Android provides the basic UI support functionality (second image below) - the OS may also handle the transparency logic too. All you need to do is enable it. I requested this again about 11 months ago. This is pretty easy to do and yet it remains a deficiency to this day. Here, I’ll help you guys out a little.https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6562962/transparent-widget-backgroundhttps://developer.android.com/guide/topics/appwidgetsTwo screen shots below. The first shows the SONOS app widget being downright obnoxiously ugly on my home screen. The second shows how well-designed app widgets handle transparency and other widget related settings.
Where/how can I set the PRESET the Sonos-TV-Channel Sound Volume, set a DEFAULT SPEAKER VOLUME for my Sonos-TV Channel (Linked to my Playbase/Sub/Play3/ Surround HomeTheater setup via Playbase – Digital Fiber TV input)S2- TV Autoplay mode is enabled, yet seems to lag Sound Volume PRESET controls.Sonos “Playbase/Sub/Play3 Surround” group remembers last used “Room-Volume-level”, yet doesn’t remember or honor last-used - TV-Channel volume. As a result if you boost up Room-Level Volume and turn-on the TV, then same boosted-level is used for TV-channel.If you turn down Room-level, then TV-sound level is also downAt present being forced to frequently adjust the Sonos-TV Channel volume each time we turn on the TV set, most annoying
I bought a Port yesterday to allow my Turntable to play audio through my Sonos speakers.Prior to directly connecting the turntable, I brought up my old Denon receiver from 2003 in hopes of being able to connect that, and play FM/AM radio. (Mostly for Summer baseball games, we prefer the radio announcers over the TV ones) But that receiver didn’t have a general RCA output to connect to the Ports input. It only had it via the Tape In/Out, but that only allows one device to be played. The stations app isn’t allowed to broadcast the games via stream, and I’m not going to pay for the MLB streaming app, since we only listen to our local team. But I also wouldn’t mind connecting my CD player, and old tape deck as well, so I have the option of playing all three media types through the port.So I’m curious who has a similar set up and which receiver they have to accomplish this.Much appreciated!
I want to use Google Assistant to play my local library, but it seems to be only able to start / stop music. Is there a way to ask Google to play a specific song from my library like it would from Deezer or another service ?
Why am I hearing commercials listening to Spotify premium on Sonos?
Since S2 became available and Sonos abandoned users of its legacy equipment (which still works perfectly) connecting to my system from my iPhone or Mac is now a nightmare. It can take up to 20 minutes of turning the phones WiFi on and off and closing and restarting the app before it will allow control of the system. It also happens to my wife, and her phone. Other times it works first time. This is frustrating in the extreme having spent thousands of pounds on speakers that are effectively useless when it won’t connect, often when you just want to quickly play something. This is completely unacceptable, it all used to work perfectly. I have 3x Play 1, 1x Play 3, a Beam and a Gen 1 Play 5 which I am not willing to junk to be able to use the S2 app, nor trade in with an insult of a discount to upgrade it. Your Twitter team have ignored all support requests from me (as someone with over 30k followers and a blue tick) and I am aware that I am not the only person affected by this. It simpl
Is the Sonos Library limit still approx. 65k?I ask because I am running into the Can’t Update Music Library dialog saying“There is not enough room to update your music library. Please remove unused queues or saved playlists and try again.”Is there any easy way of double checking this to make sure e.g. a diagnostic.I suppose I will have to move towards PLEX. If so it is a pity I can’t trial it first before committing as it is a big outlay for a life subscription which I figure I will need.
I have a Beam connected to my TV. When I listen to music on YouTube I like to improve the quality of the sound by connecting the Beam to my Play 5s and sub. I turn down the volume on the lower quality Beam and listen through the other speakers. The strange thing is when doing that the Roku remote control stops working. I can still hear what’s playing but I can’t manipulate the YouTube experience or even turn off the TV. Any ideas why the use of the Play 5s and sub would disable the TV remote?
