I’m attempting to assist a neighbor setting up existing ceiling speakers to create a home theater as well as a second zone for music.Currently have 4 working ceiling speakers (front L & R, rear L & R) as well as a SONOS Sub and soundbar (neither of these SONOS model or generation unknown)Have purchased 3 AMP’s with thought of using 2 for home theater (1-Front L&R, 2nd Rear L&R and 3rd for speaker pair in different room).WiFi is in room behind TV room so signal great & not planning on using any Ethernet connection.Looking for details on how to create “Home Theater” room especially AMP grouping and achieving correct configuration for Home Theater. Thanks in advance for your assistance on my journey
Hi,I’ve got 3 active speakers of Bang & Olufsen that I would like to keep and to use with Sonos Port ;)2 front Beolab 18 1 sub Beolab 19I tried to connect the 2 front speakers with RCA cables directly to the “out” of the SONOS PORT and it works well ! Both speakers turns ON and the music is playing.Do you know how to add the sub Beolab 19 ?Do you know if this is possible to connect the BEOSOUND 9000 to the input of the SONOS Port ?Did anyone tried it? Thanks !
Hello, I have a sonos ARC which is connected to my TV for it to play through. I have now recently purchased a sonos AMP because i have a very old record player i would like to connect. I believe i have setup the record player to connect to AMP properly, and i have added AMP to the sonos app. What i want to do is have the AMP play through the ARC as my speaker but i dont see any way to have it do that. When it added AMP to the app, it added it to living room 2 instead of living room where my ARC is (no idea why). There is an option to connect the AMP to the ARC as a “surround sound” via a setup dialogue, but when i try to do that, although it seems to show my ARC as an option, when i actually select the ARC, the whole app just crashes. I think the setup i want is pretty simple. Record player to AMP. AMP to use the ARC as its speaker. so essentially my record player is using the ARC as its speaker via the AMP but i cant for the life of me figure out how to do that. Any thoughts? note
I recently installed a new NAS on my network and in trying to add the network path in the S1 software it dont appear to want to accept it. I can add it no problem using the S2 software but not the S1. Also, I cannot seem to delete the old NAS from the S1 software. Anyone have a suggestion on what may be causing this?
Hi, I recently moved into a house with in-ceiling speakers and Zoneplayer 120 / Connect Amp connected to the speakers throughout the house, other than in the basement where there is no amp. I am using the basement room as a gym so I don’t see the need to have that room play the same music as other parts of the house.I was just going to get a used Zoneplayer 120 / Connect Amp but they still sell for $200+ CAD where I am. My questions is do you see any benefit in getting that over a generic Bluetooth amp for less than half the price. Bluetooth would be nice because I am then not limited to S1 music services (no Airplay, etc.).If I stick to similar wattage of the Zoneplayer 120 (55W per speaker), will I miss out on sound quality? Some alternative Bluetooth amps I found quickly on Amazon are: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06Y67PZB1/ref=emc_b_5_thttps://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076XSBCCL/ref=emc_b_5_iLook forward to hearing your views. Thanks.

Sonos system works fine with streamed music, and is almost fine with playing music from my WD My Cloud Home NAS directly through the speakers, but the Connect amp often finds it hard to make a connection to the NAS or begins a song and then drops out (in which case I get an error message warning me the wifi is unstable. This has been happening for a long while (years)! We’ve been through the unplug / reset steps, and have now moved the system to a new (and supposedly faster) modem/router. Our internet service is patchy, the price of living in regional Australia with a government that crippled the national broad band network from the beginning, but while this may cause the connect amp a problem or two, it doesn’t explain why the system appears to work better when I bypass the amp.Any suggestions / insights are welcome.Albert
Hello Having issues changing AMP from wireless to wired connection. Tries several times and rebooted router etc etc. Error comes up that cannot be changed. After numerous research and discussions with Sonos tech personnel prior to purchase, I just found out (after installation) that the Sonos Architectural In-Wall speakers and the Sonos Architectural In-Ceiling speakers cannot be connected to the same Amp. Basically, you need two Amps? Really?? I have a Loft overlooking my MBR and on 01/11/23, two Sonos In-Wall speakers and two Sonos In-ceiling speakers were installed on one Amp. This is just for music. There is an “unable to complete to architectural speaker detection error.’ The 4 speakers play music but Trueplay is not available. Since the Sonos Amp is not inexpensive I am a more than a bit annoyed especially as a matter of principle that one should fork out money to purchase two Sonos Amps to merely power a pair of In-Wall speakers and a Pair of ceiling speakers. Questions:Is there a work-around? The music plays on the four speakers, the only issue appears to be Trueplay and detecting the speakers. Why true play is important is t
I get a low bass hum sound from my new project turntable connected to my Sonos amp. Any ideas on how to eliminate that? Thanks.
Moderator edit:Google Translate - Good morning, I have a problem with the disconnection of the sub, I have stored the sonos AMP in the basement that gives sound to the terrace, I add the subwoofer on the terrace and it is impossible for me to connect it to the sonos AMP. My question is, if the subwoofer connects to the sonos AMP by wifi or by bluetooh?
Hi! My vinyl setup seemed to have stopped working somewhat overnight. I have my turntable connected via pre-amp to a Sonos Port, which I use to send music to my two rooms, living room and kitchen. My living room consists of an Arc, Sub Mini and Two One SL’s as surround, while my kitchen is equipped with two One SL’s in a stereo configuration. When I first purchased the Port, a few months ago, I could send music from my records to both living room and kitchen, but recently I’ve been unable to send to my living room while everything works as normally in the kitchen. When sending to both rooms, the app indicates audio being played both places, while only being audible in kitchen. When only sending to living room I sporadically get the error message “Unable to play the line-in source”, sometimes the app reverts to the last music played successfully, but never plays from the Port. After removing the One SL’s as surround, I could also send music to these individually, but never the Arc. Ever
We have a sonos amp and are wondering if it can be used similar to a receiver to have both a karaoke machine and a mic mixer sound output?
can you have different volume levels on ceiling speakers hooked up to the same sonos amp?
I bought the Sonance MAG06V3 thinking they’re compatible with sonos architectural but when i look to detect it with my sonos amp, it can’t find it. does anyone know if these are compatible?
Hi all,Sorry if this is a seemingly silly question, but after reading several posts, I’m still rather confused.I have an existing Sonos system which consists of a multitude of Play:1’s, a Play:3, and a 5.1 setup with a Playbar and Sub. I now want to add a turntable and maybe a CD player (yes, I have streaming, I know how to rip, etc).I’ve been looking at a Sonos Port, and I know I need a turntable with a pre-amp (internal or external) to hook it up.When it comes to the CD player, I’m confused. I know it needs an analog (RCA) output to connect it to the port, and I’ll need a switch as the Port has only one set of RCA inputs (anything to pay attention to when buying one?). But which DAC is used when I’d play CD audio? The one from the CD unit, or the Port? I would assume the former (because of the analog connection to the Port). If so, what’s the purpose of the DAC in the Port? Is it only when using it e.g. with AirPlay? One last question on the topic of the CD player: I’m browsing the se
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.i’m a long time customer of Sonos, my enthusiasm tempered after the botched effort a few years back whereby the forced upgrade resulted in landfill-bound bricked speaker. Even though they reversed that, i was still left w/ a useless Play speaker that could no longer be used-i have to believe many of us lost faith after that -i still purchased and gifted new things like moves, etc. My current setup is a mix of possibly old and new (i’ve lost track what supports what) and i still experience that frustrating lag of sound pushing out to all speakers that feels like water from a hose that you’ve turned on and now wait for it to come out the other end:).ok after that pre mumble, here’s my question:How do i know that i am running the 12 or so speakers i have around the house on the latest, most performant software? What speakers don’t support S2 and if the don’t sould remove them? re group them? i totallly understand the need for hardware upgrades
I have 4 older Connect-Amps. I would like to replace them with the new amp. Can I replace them one at a time to minimize the expense? Not sure if I have connect-amp and the new amp would cause a conflict in the SONOS system. Thanks
In addition to my Sonos speakers, I have 2x Klipsch RP 600s. I drive them with the Sonos Amp. I also own 2x Klipsch Heresy (about 35 years old). For maximum performance, should I buy another Sonos Amp to drive these (1 Amp for the RP 600s, and 1 Amp for the Heresys?). I don’t want to waste money, but want to make sure I’m maximizing performance. thanks
I recently purchased the Pro-ject Debut Carbon and a Cambridge Audio Solo to connect to my Sonos Port. The Cambridge Audio Solo is a PreAmp for MM cartridges. The TT came with a Sumiko Rainer. I connected everything to the right ports. The Sonos App on the line in shows music but nothing is coming out. I’ve adjusted the volume in the settings. I even called Crutchfield support and they sent me a new PreAmp because the tech thought that might be the issue. Now I’m on my second PreAmp with the same result. This brings me to the all Sonos gurus here. I would so appreciate some help.
Hi team. I have recently bought a port assuming I could connect my turntable to the line in and then have it wirelessly send audio to my arc/sub.I've got all devices connected to the app and playing a record currently but no audio coming out of arc and I can't seem to work out where to make this happen. Any ideas or do I need more equipment?
I have two sonos system1)Sonos arc + 2 sonos one(gen 2). this system acts as my home theater2)2 sonos connect which are connected to amplifier that plays sound in two different zones of my house. my app identifies only one system at a time. My app randomly selects only one system. So, if my app recognizes “sonos connect system”, i cannot control my home theater system. I have orbi mesh for my wifi. any solution so i can operate both systems simultaneous while at the same time keep them separate. thank you in advance
I recently upgraded my Sonos system from Connect to Port. As a result, I had to upgrade from S1 to S2 as well. Before all this, I had no problem accessing files on the external fileshare HD that I have connected to the USB port of my Asus AC5300 Router. In the new situation Sonos won't even let me restore my music library from the fileshare HD. After a few minutes of apparent indexing it just quits and says: “The device where the music files are stored may not be powered on,” (it is) “the path may have changed” (it didn’t). This is very annoying, since it means I can no longer access my music collection (painstakingly converted from thousands of CDs) the way I could before. Does anyone recognize this problem?
I purchased an Arc and Sub to replace my receiver based 5.1 system and have been pretty impressed so far. I have some existing B&W in-ceiling rears so today I added an Amp to power them.First disappointment was finding out the line-in is disabled when in surround mode. I can’t find anything on the product page mentioning this. Major bummer as I was planning to connect my turntable to the Amp.But most importantly I’m getting no sound out of the rears in the surround configuration. Nothing with Dolby Atmos, nothing when streaming music, and nothing when I run the Architectural test tone. If I separate the Amp from the system it plays 2-channel audio and the Architectural test tone no problem. Add them back to the Arc + Sub system and nothing.Setup is:LG OLED eARC to Arc Soundbar (wireless)Sub Gen 3 (wireless)Amp (hardwired)Any suggestions would be majorly appreciated. Thanks.
What is wrong with the Sonos app? Almost every time I try to use it I get the “Unable to connect, let’s fix it” error. I haven’t changed the network or the router, all my Sonos products are exactly as they were, nothing has changed. But I’m expected to go through all the setup again, which usually takes about 10 minutes (“This may take 1-2 minutes” ha ha ha). Usually it completes and says it still can’t find the devices, but then I can usually exit the app, go in again and it’s all ok. Sometimes I can open the app on a different device and it’s all working ok. It’s infuriating. My Sonos One is always usable with Alexa, but the Play:1s can only be used via the app, so are effectively out of commission until an app on a device (Android phone or iPad) finds the system again.
