I have 4 Connects powering third party (in ceiling) speakers in four zones via a third party multi-zone amplifier. I also have a Playbar, Sub and Play:3. All are running on the S1 app.My third party multi-zone amplifier died and I am upgrading from the Connects to Amps, and then to run the Amps, Playbar, Sub and Play:3 on the S2 app.I have the Amps and I’m looking for guidance/instructions on the process for executing the upgrades, i.e. removing the Connects, installing the Amps, and getting them all running (along with the Playbar, Sub and Play:3) on the S2 app.Thanks...
Hi all, I wonder if you can help. I have a planar p1 record deck (into a preamp) and a marantz cd6007 going into an rca splitter, then the output goes to a port and then to all my other sonos speakers. The output from the vinyl sounds great but the output from the cd player sounds ghastly - muffled and distorted. I have swapped the connections over to every different combination but nothing changes. Some of my CD’s sound good but the majority are not up to the job. The CD player is new (the output from the headphone socket on the player is absolutely brilliant, so no problems there). Do you think that I need a separate amplifier in between the CD player and the Port, or is there something darker afoot?
Hi - I’ve just bought a Sonos Port to plug into my Denon AVR S750H receiver -- but I see that the Port seems to have digital cables with RCA-style plugs, and my Denon has an optical cable. Is there some sort of adapter I can purchase that allows me to go into the optical audio-in on the Denon so I don’t have to sacrifice another input? I’m not real knowledgeable about these interfaces, so I’d appreciate any recommendation you might have. Thanks!Steve H.
Hi All, can you help.am I correct in saying a 16 ohm speaker can be used on each side of the amplifier either as a pair or as a 4.for example 2 speakers on the left channel and 2 on the right channel? how ever I cant have 3 due to the imbalance in ohms being around 5 ohms? thanks
If I bought an old Gen 1 sonos connect and connected to the 3.5mm audio out on my epson eh-tw7000, could I then send that audio wirelessly to a Gen 1 sonos beam?
I have a Beam connected to the router via ethernet and I also got 2 Ones and an Arc that is supposedly connected wirelessly via Sonosnet. The Arc and one of the Ones is being report as “Wired” on my router and that is correct. But the other One is being reported as “Wifi 2.4” and that is incorrect. I already removed the wifi credentials on the app, so I don’t how this One is connected via Wifi. And this One would often disconnect and I would get that error (RS+?) on the app.How do I finally get this Sonos One on Sonosnet? Again, it already says WM:0 on the app, but I am pretty sure it is not because it says “Wifi 2.4” on the router and also because this is the only speaker that disconnects occasionally.
Hi All,I have a SONOS port + Cambridge Audio Amplifier (Azur) that doesn’t have any digital output, only RCA’s.SONOS Port works well for:broadcasting Streaming music to Cambridge amplifier and play on my good old passive speakers connecting CD player or other sources (turntables) to SONOS Port and broadcasting on other SONOS products at homeHowever, I had hoped I could use my amplifier as a source to SONOS PORT (via the RCA Record output of the Cambridge Audio amplifier) so that I can use my old audio sources (CD, turntables, tapes, radio, etc) and broadcast to my other SONOS products but that doesn’t seem to work.Any hint/help please? Many thanks!
My question is what should my next purchase be to add to my system with the plan of expanding the system in the future? Currently I have a vintage turntable with a pre amp and a Sonos Beam One. (also a TV) I was planning on adding an AMP next . I am thinking of adding speakers and possibly a third party sub woofer. So my second question what speakers are going to work with the Beam One? Or do I need to upgrade the Beam? Did I mention I’m new to all this?? Thank you
My port is set to Family Room and will only function on ‘fixed volume’. Can’t change the volume in that room. all other rooms work fine. Tried changing to ‘variable’ but it immediately defaults back to ‘fixed volume’ on that port. Any ideas?

We are building a new home and are looking for pre-wire and configuration advice. The great room will have a TV in the Media Alcove and we hope to have Surround sound in that room. We also hope to have music in the dining and kitchen areas. We will also have a TV and sound in the Den. I currently own Sonos and have had a it configured using an ARC, One (surrounds), and Sub in one zone, and a pair of Fives in the kitchen in a separate zone. This has worked nicely. For this house we envision the following use - 1. Great Room - Surround for TV and sometimes streaming music 2. Kitchen and Dining - streaming music 3. Den - Surround for TV and sometimes streaming music 4. Outside under covered patio - streaming music Great Room - ARC and two surrounds in ceiling with AMP OR 5 speakers in ceiling configured for 5:1 with no ARC. Understand that we need an AMP for in ceiling speakers. Kitchen and Dining - 2 speakers each, or will one pair suffice for the space For Den, we intend on using exi
I have various Sonos equipment setup in eight rooms in my home and have been using it with a Boost and Amp wired (SonosNet) for a few years. It’s good 99% of the time, but when I try to group more than 5 rooms I get a lot of drop-outs. I have a great Eero mesh system in my home and since the new Era speakers don’t support SonosNet I thought -- why not try it without SonosNet?I used the Sonos App (S2) to add a trusted network, and that process prompted me to unplug the network cable from the Amp. Eventually I got everything switched over to WiFi -- not as smooth as I had hoped, but it got done. I powered down the Boost (completely disconnected and unplugged) and everything is working great -- better than before, I can group all of my rooms with no drop-outs, it’s more responsive, etc. However...in in the Sonos App I still see the Boost! On the Systems “tab” is shows it with the dreaded “blue dot” / Updating message. In Settings it also shows that, and when I do “About My System”
I have one sonos connect unit that is listed online in my Sonos account as being a “Modern” device and capable of S2. However, when I factory reset it and try to add it to my S2 system, the light flashes red and the app reports it as unable to upgrade to S2. Any ideas what’s going on? Thanks
Hi - my sonos connect amp has been working fine but is no longer responding or showing in my system. It has a flashing white light and when I connected it to Ethernet has a green light and a similarly flashing amber light on the Ethernet port. I have tried the troubleshooter a few times and then tried a factory reset, but it just goes back to flashing white. I don’t appear to have any other options available?
In hopes of saving someone hours of their time - got 2 new routers this weekend. The router supplied by Spectrum is called Sagecom. Everything at home connected to it except my paired sonos one speakers. It turns out that Sagecom broadcasts 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz but you cannot select one or the other. Apparently Sonos one speakers need 2.4 ghz and therefore this router is not compatible. I bought a Netgear Nighthawk AX2400 (RAX30) router to replace the Sagecom. Still couldn’t get the sonos app to connect to the wifi. Spent 1.5 hrs on phone with Spectrum’s technical support and made many changes to router’s settings (unclick AX functionality, select 2.4 ghz, select channel 11 instead of auto, security encryption change, others). However, nothing changed. I did a factory settings reset on the 2 sonos one speakers and then returned to sonos app and created a new system and location. It found the speakers and then sonos was able to log on to the new wifi SSID. What an ordeal! I don’
I just bought the Onkyo nr-tx696 because of its work with sonos integration. I set it all up and it turns on and I can adjust volume using Sonos. The problem I am having is that I cant get it to go into standby after I stop playing music. I have tried multiple settings and my understanding is that the receiver is supposed to recognize after 20 mins of no signal and go into standby, however its not doing it. Anyone have any suggestions?
I need help to connect my sonos port to my denon amp with RCA cable to play FM from my amp I am not possible to do it need any one who can help
Hi I would like to have a wall mounted volume controller in some of my zones instead of looking for my phone. Is this something that can be wired to the amps or is there a wireless option also? Thanks.
Hi all, I am sure this is a dumb question but I hope you can help. I’m a legacy Sonos customer with an old connect hooked up to a vintage Sony stereo receiver and technics turntable.i want to move to a Sonos amp for a 4.1 surround setup and maintain my old turntable as part of that.what do I do about my preamp situation if I have an old receiver? Can my old receiver act as a preamp or is that a dumb idea? Or should I just buy a dedicated pre amp and sell the receiver? Or something else? After some research I’m not that concerned about losing the analog sound by eliminating the receiver (it also has a tape out if I wanted to maintain that), but I’m not sure what best practice is for moving from a modest analog Phono set up to a sonos amp phono set up. I can’t find a lot online about keeping an old receiver as a preamp with the AMP, which tells me that it may not be the best approach. But I don’t understand why?help!!Edit: I should maybe add that I don’t care much about streaming turntabl
Hello, I am in the market for a turntable, and wanted to output that to a sonos amp. My question, If I were to get passive speakers powered by the sonos amp, would I be able to output the audio from my turntable, to both the passive speakers and my 4 sonos ones that I have around my house?
Hi, I’m wanting to create a few party playlists that will include both Spotify tracks and tracks that I have on my Mac. However when I add the tracks to the Your Library section of Spotify and try to play them, they are greyed out.I have tried playing through Spotify and selecting my Sonos Room and get “track can’t be played at this time” and also tried playing through Sonos App and selecting Your Library, then the playlist - but any tracks that are computer based are greyed out.My question is, if I were to upgrade to the new Gen 2 Connect Amp would this issue be solved? Thanks!
Hi there, could someone please tell me if there are any diagrams available for explaining to my electrician how to wire a series of sonos amps to in ceiling speakers. He was talking about wiring them in series and I dont believe that that is the correct method. Also I have plans to put a speaker in an ensuite and adjacent walk in wardroom. My plan was to use 2 individual steroe speakers wired back to one amp ie as one zone. should I run 2 wires for left and right from the amp to each speaker? Thanks.
Unable to connect my PlayBase to wifi working fine on Ethernet Tried extensive troubleshooting and factory resets to no avail diagnostics report submitted 366592743
I have Sonos system with fairly old (S1) components (ZPs, Play5s). It was working quite well with the legacy Sonosnet. I have had a proper Aruba network installed (instant Access Points not the Instant On, with Instant OS 8.6.15) to provide full coverage in the (fairly large full of reinforced concrete) house. So that I have proper WiFi access now (measured, calibrated, etc) stable 2.4 and 5 GHz reception all across. I decided to switch the Sonos system to WiFi mode. I am experiencing quite a few issues: * Stability of controllers is very poor now (dropping, not connecting without restart, etc) * Some device refuses to connect simply (got IP, but does not start broadcasting advertising itself, hence the other boxes and the controllers cannot see it) * Spotify no longer able to stream from the app to the Sonos system directly (you need to search start on the Sonos controller) Should I accept the advice of support that (at least with these old boxes) the Sonosnet is far more reliable t
Is there a way to run 2 line in RCA inputs into one Port?I currently have a Connect which I use to to feed into my audio system in the living room. I’ve got multiple devices connected to my B&O amp through an Inday Toslink / Coax switch. It all works fine but it leaves my TV out of the Sonos EcoSystem. The Chain looks like this:BT DAC Receiver > Connect > Inday Switch ch 1 > DAC > B&O This covers all the music and streaming I need then I can group the 5 other zones With this set up, TV is out of the MIX and I dont need a sound bar TV > Inday ch 2 > DAC > B&O This works for TV sound in living room but I cant stream it to the other ZonesSo here’s the question I just ordered 2 Ports. One to replace the connect and the other to feed the TV into that would then go to Inday Switch channel 3 over the DAC and B&O in this way I could group the TV port into the other zones when wanted. So my ultimate question is this the best way to go or could I som
