new sonos amp compatibility with older S1 subwoofer

Question

I have an entirely new Sonos system throughout my home and have the black Sonos amps in one room I want to use my old S1 subwoofer would these two be compatible?

There is no “S1 subwoofer”. There three generations of the Sonos Sub of which the first two are both S1 and S2 capable - as is the Amp. See https://support.sonos.com/en/article/sonos-s2-compatibility. So you can use your Sub with a new Amp.

You’d possibly have to downgrade the new Amp to S1 or you need to upgrade the Sub to S2.
