Hi All,

can you help.

am I correct in saying a 16 ohm speaker can be used on each side of the amplifier either as a pair or as a 4.

for example 2 speakers on the left channel and 2 on the right channel?

how ever I cant have 3 due to the imbalance in ohms being around 5 ohms?

thanks

The limit is 4 Ohms per channel, unless you are using the Sonos specific Sonance (corrected from Sanus) speakers.  That amounts to 1 4 Ohm pair or 2 8 Ohm pairs.

Sorry, mild correction, it’s Sonance speaker, not Sanus speakers. I suspect an autocorrect malfunction there ;)

It’s unusual for consumer products, but if your speakers are actually 16-Ohms, you could connect four of these speakers in parallel to an AMP channel. This would result in a 4-Ohm load for AMP. For sonic reasons I don’t recommend connecting speakers in series.
