Several times now I’ve woken up in the middle of the night or other times to hear a full volume hum/distortion “playing” on a room on my system. I’ve at least figured out that when it happens I have to open the Sonos app and press “stop” for which it does stop. It thinks it’s playing something from the line in source but it’s not, it’s simply distortion. I don’t even have anything hooked up to that source except for a portal to plug in DJ mixer once in a while. . This is terrible. Any suggestions??
I am looking to set up in ceiling speakers in my bathroom. My current set up is on the old S1 system and I can’t/don’t want to upgrade. Is it possible to use connectamp gen1 and any ceiling speakers (not sonance). I understand I will need to power the amp and wire it to the speakers- is that all I need to do? Any in ceiling speaker recommendations also appreciated. Thank you.
I have a Sonos Port and when I try to put it in Mono mode is goes for a very quick second and then goes back to stereo. Anyone know how to fix this? Music is playing when I try this if that matters.
Hi, I have 3 different areas with in-wall prewired speakers in my home, with the cables running bundled (but seperated) individually to one location in the basement Outdoor living space with 2 speakers (TV outside as well) Family room with 5 in-wall ceiling speakers (TV mounted in front) Basement with 5 wired speakers My questions is how and with what equipment would I use to utilize these speakers for the respected TVs (to output sound) and to use for music. I will also note their are Ethernet Cat6 cables run to the same locations behind all TVs (at wall plate behind the TVs) The media company for the builder said to use Sonos, but how would I go about using this (so that there is no lag in the audio from the TV). Would I use just Sonos or use it with existing amplifier?Do I need seperate amplifiers for each set of speaker? Really look forward to any help! Thank you.
Hi folks,My S1 bridge has completely packed in. No lights or any signs of life. I've checked all the obvious but to no avail. Any feedback would be brilliant. Thank you all.
For 2.5 years, my Sonos subwoofer has worked flawlessly. In the past month, every few days it loses the connection to my Sonos Amp. The mobile app shows "Updating" for days next to the Sub, and shows "Unused", meaning not connected to the Amp any longer. The only way to restore it is to do a factory reset on the Sub and add it again to the Amp.Nothing has changed with my hardware setup -- Amp with Sub, Netgear Nighthawk 7000 router with Netgear Nighthawk EX7000 extender which the Amp and Sub are connected to. I have not moved any devices (amp, sub, router, extender). I have not updated software on any devices, though the Amp and/or Sub may have been automatically updated, don't know.I have spoken twice with Sono's tech support, and they just have me do the factory reset. During the call with the second tech, she had me move the Sub closer to the Amp and turn off the Netgear extender. Of course, it works, but that's most likely due to the factory reset. Again, everything was wor
I could use some clarity on what Sonos are doing in regard to gathering metrics and stats on what I use my system for.Firstly my problem - For some weird reason my Spotify account became completely unlinked from Sonos so nothing would play through my speakers. I went into the app and re-added the account but still, nothing would play. The symptoms are the Spotify system would sit on “connecting” when I asked it to play through the SONOS, eventually timing out, or, the SONOS app would attempt to play a song and throw an error about the connection to Spotify being “lost”.I run a “PiHole” DNS sinkhole on my home network to prevent unncessicary connections from my IoT devices “phoning home” to send my usage data to various providers (Samsung, Philips Hue, Amazon, Sonos etc).I have not been prompted, asked, warned or given any consent for this data to be collected, gathered or sent back to any vendor simply to be able to use their products. Fairly sure there are opt-in laws in Europe about t
Hi all, I suspect I already know the answer to my query but hoping I missed something and I can salvage my existing system and use my turntable.Current list of products: Connect (Gen 1), Play:1s, One (Gen 1), Sub (Gen 2) and Playbar (Gen ?).Is there any way to use any of the aforementioned speakers with my Connect on either controller? Can I downgrade any of my speakers to make something work or do I need to find a Gen 2 Connect?
I have my Line-in source level set to 4 and I’m using a Pro-Ject T1 turntable with the Sonos Port, playing through a Sonos Beam and a Sonos One. I have the built-in preamp on my T1 set to Line so the sound is reasonably amplified, but the sound is staticky with almost zero low-end, it sounds very thin. Seems obvious that I’m doing something wrong here but i can’t figure out what. Any help would be much apprecated!
I have a Audio Technica LP60XBK turntable that is connected to Sonos Port. The pre-amplifier switch is set to LINE on the turntable. When I play a vinyl on the turntable, the sound output on my Sonos ARC, with sub and two play one's are too low. In the Sonos app, I did try setting the "Source Level" under Sonos port settings from all the way from Level 1 to Level 10. Level 1, basically nothing can be heard and Level 10 is as though set on low volume.Do not know what else to check and if there is an issue with port or turntable.Any help would be appreciated!

I have two new Sonos Ports that are connected to my receiver. It needs to connect to a wireless network since I don’t Ethernet availability. Can the Sonos Ports connect to a wireless network that supports both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz or should it connect only to a 2.4Ghz wireless network?
Hi, can anyone help please? I have just purchased a Pro-ject turntable from Sonos and I have wired it in via line-in. Gone to my app and connected up, but at maximum volume all you can hear is a faint sound coming through the speaker! Am I missing something?please help :(
I am currently doing a family room addition. I own a Sonos Arc and sub. Here is what I want to do in order of priority.Use Sonos Arc + Sub + 2 Era 300s for my HT setup.Be able to connect my turntable to this setup.Use two sets of wired outdoor speakers. One on the back of the house and one on the front.I will occasionally be using a TV on the back and would like the outdoor speaks to play audio from the TV.Is this possible?
No light on my amp, just some click sounds
Hello! Disclaimer - this is not my area of expertise, but I’m trying to figure out what piece of equipment is required to set up my parents’ old record player to play through our Sonos system. I’d like to be able to gift it to my husband for his upcoming birthday! Every time we start to dig in and research to figure it out we both get frustrated. We have an old Playbar as our main speaker (plus a play:1, two One SLs, and a Roam). We currently have it set up running through a recording interface (I think - it says M Audio M Track on it) + guitar amp (Orange Crush 20RT) + my husband’s laptop (I’m not sure how he’s managing it on there). The quality is really poor that way - almost unbearable to listen to. It sounds like it’s skipping constantly. Ideally, the record player would not be directly connected to the playbar because there isn’t really any space for it nearby. That isn’t a deal breaker, just a reasonably high priority. I’m not sure if we need a preamp, a Sonos Port, somet
Hi,Can someone help me diagnose an issue with my old Connect? It has started dropping audio streaming (stopping->startring->stopping….loop).It’s connected via Wifi as the only device left in my S1 setup. Rest i have is running S2.Diagnostics number is 293225017,Thanks!
My current setup:TV Area:Beam (gen1) connected to AppleTV and wireless HD projector Sonos sub2x play:1s setup in surround sound Living area:2x HomePods in stereo pair 2x bookshelf AudioEngine A2s connected to an old Airport Express i generally use Airplay2 to stream across both areas. I’m thinking of getting a vinyl player, so of course I’d like one that works with my set up. First question, if I buy a turntable and plug it to a Sonos Port, does that enable it to stream across the whole airplay2 network or only the Sonos speakers? Second question, same for the Victrola Sonos-certified turntables, would they only work via Sonos speakers or once I hit play to the line in on the Sonos app I can expand it via airplay2 to the rest? Third, following up on question 1; any reason to buy a Port instead of an Era 100/300/Five? They all seem to have a line in and similar functionality and the Port isn’t cheap… Any repercussions re: stereo or whatever if it’s one bookshelf speaker?
For music listening, Is it possible to have an era 300 and 2x ones (which I already have) for surround or should I get a Beam to go with my 2x ones for surround?
Can anyone advise on the best location for the boost to be sited. Does it benefit from being a certain distance from the router and other electrical components?
Hi - I’ve got 12 Sonos AMP hardwired to various in-wall and ceiling speakers thoughout the house and exterior. It seems silly to have them all on 24/7. I’d like to plug them into a managed power supply on a timer which would effectively “pull the plug” on them at 10:00 PM and plug them in again at 8:00 AM.Question: Is there some sort of sleep function I’m missing which would make this unnecessary?Question: Is there any reason why this sort of repeated powering down would be harder on the units than turning them on and off with the power button?
Hi,Quick question about ceiling speakers please. I can see the dimensions online for width and depth but can’t see anything relating to the maximum thickness of plasterboard / wood that they can fit on. Looking at the pictures it secures with clamps so just wondering how wide these go if anyone knows? Would it fit on a double layer of plasterboard for example? Also with one pair I assume I just run one cable back to each side of the amp, rather then daisy chain?ThanksSteve
Hi, are there any online templates I can print off for the ceiling speaker cutout? If not is any one able to confirm the size in 210mm? Cheers
Hello.I have a question because I could not understand it well after reading the user guide.I currently have a USB DAC and a power amp connected with RCA cables.I would like to connect the SONOS Port between the USB DAC and the power amp with RCA cables so that when playing from the SONOS app, the volume is controlled by the SONOS app, and when playing from the USB DAC, the SONOS Port on the USB DAC side will reflect (not change) the volume .Is this possible by setting it to pass-through?
I recently moved house so my ISP, room layout, etc. are completely different than my old situation which worked perfectly. In my old house I never had trouble with my Sonos Connect (playing music from my NAS drive through my stereo). But in my new house the Connect is cutting out. My Sonos One’s and ZonePlayer S5 are playing fine and I have a 1GB broadband connection, so the problem is clearly with the Connect. My Sonos system consists of a Sonos Boost, 2 Sonos 1’s, the Sonos Connect, and a ZonePlayer S5. The Connect is accessing the system via the Boost (WM=0 for all Sonos components).I can think of several possibilities:(1) The satellite in my Orbi Mesh network is not carrying the signal properly. I would ideally like to use a wired connection to the closest satellite, but the satellite itself has problems when I move it close to my stereo. So it’s currently sitting on the other side of my living room.(2) The Connect is ignoring the Orbi satellite and is trying to connect directly to
