I have a Sonos Connect that keeps sending Remote Access attempts to my Desktop PC which was verified by the IP. My Anti-virus is blocking these attempts as SMB:BruteForce as the threat name. I believe it started when I installed the update yesterday and the attempt happens every 2-10 minutes. I have 2 other Connects in my system that haven't attempted this. I have the unit powerd down at the moment. Would I really be compromised through a Connect? Should I be concerned? Just another issue after dealing with the app fiasco.
The background:I am new to SONOS. Learning as I go. I’m a network guy and audio enthusiast, but several SONOS issues are driving me nuts. The task:I was just told I’m taking over management of my boss’ SONOS system. At least 20 devices of every conceivable variety. First task: install a new amp and speakers. The problem:The app finds the amp, tells me I need to update. Update fails. Codes mostly 1000, sometimes 1002. I’ve set it up directly under the access point. I’ve wired it into the router. Same messages. No idea what I’m missing. Info from the app is basicaly basic and fundamentaly useless, unless I’m looking in the wrong spot.Have I committed any glaring errors. No need to be gentle. I need unvarnished help / truth here.
Updating from S1 to S2 and updating and older port. The circle of death been there for several hours. Did a factory reset and here again. No errors just never finishes. Any ideas?
To play TV (Samsung OLED) through Sonos the Sonos system now requires the TV to be connected as a device. This means that the TVs volume control is now only via the Sonos App. We have >1 user of the TV & formerly the TV volume control was maintained via the TV remote that everyone n the family could use. This seems not to be possible now. So I have to forego using the player so others can access the TVs normal volume control. Any ideas please?
Hi, I have searched for a specific answer but can’t seem to find it. I have a Sonos Connect Amp currently driving 2 third party speakers. I’d like to add an outdoor subwoofer, which seems to be passive. The solution I have seen is to add a separate amp for the sub. My question is, at what volume should the sub amp be set? I definitely like to vary the outdoor volume for the regular speakers depending on the situation (through the Sonos app), but don’t want to have to manually adjust the sub. Is it possible to automate the sub volume adjustment?
I have one s1 amp set up and I just got another. I’d def it to my system. I can’t figure out how to access it
I recently purchased a Sonos amp today, and while it sounds great and my Subwoofer turns on, I cannot adjust the levels via the app. If i turn the levels up or down, or even turn the sub off, nothing happens. The sub remains on playing very low. Is there a workaround to this? I see others are having similar issues. I waited over an hour to speak to sonos customer service today and the woman who answers had no clue what I was talking about. She just said some features should be available in July, but after explaining to her what my issue was over and over she was not understanding, even told me that since I have third party sub it wouldn't work.
Ever since the new version of the Android app was released, I'm unable to pair my Sonos Port with other speakers. I've already tried the usual. Disconnect from power. Restart the router. Do it all over again, etc. It's always the same issue: "Unable to connect. Try again later". It's been 3 weeks now. Is that later enough? Is Sonos going to launch a program to return bricked equipment for a refund now that it has unilaterally decided not to let us use them anymore? Please consider it.
So I have a Sonos playlist (about 40 songs). The artwork for ALL of the individual songs all show up in the app when looking at the songs in the playlist, and when playing the playlist. But when looking at my list of playlists in the app (I’m on S2), there is no artwork for this playlist. My other playlists all have artwork as a cover for the playlist. Any suggestion on how to fix? Note that I recently got a new PC. And this happened after the switch of the music library to the new PC. I tried closing app and re-starting it. Doesn’t change anything. Thoughts?
Hi . I have various sonos products/speakers including a sonos connect amp which is connected to my ceiling speakers and my sky digital tv box so I can hear tv through the speakers.I am upgrading to sky Q from sky digital. I don't think the connect amp is compatible with sky Q as the amp only has an analogue output. Sky q works on optical output. Is there a way of connecting sky Q to my current connect amp? for example, if I plugged a Digital to Analog Audio converter in the Optical Out Socket on the Sky Q Box would this work? or will I need to invest in a new sonos amp?
I have a Sonos amp hooked up to outdoor in-ceiling speakers. I want to add a Bluetooth speaker to the back of my yard. Is there a way I can sync Bluetooth speakers to the Sonos amp to extend music to the back of the yard? If not, what do you recommend?
I want to use my Connect with my Topping DAC. Would I run the connect right off of the PC then to the Topping DAC then to my Preammp or My Topping DAC right off of the PC to the connect and then to the Preamp??I dont want one conflicting with the other If Im making any sense….Thanks

I am using an old Ready NAS Duo and am looking for suggestions on a newer NAS. Current config is 2 2TB Western Digital hard drives. The new update has made my DUO disappear from SONOS, not sure if age of the NAS has anything to do with it but would like to update the NAS either way
Hi all!My system is simple, two Sonos:Play1, 1 sonos roam and 2 sonos connect amps wired (cable to router and cable for ceiling speaker).Only the ceiling speaker cuts out here and there for 5 - 10 seconds. All the rest of the equipment works perfectly.Any idea why? How to trouble shoot! Thanks,Pat
Sonos Boost,if no white light in front,is it working ?
Hi all, i recently purchased a sonos connect amp, and when i try to set it up, it won’t setup I don’t know if the previous owner forgot to remove it from their account but i tried to reset it by holding the mute button, and nothing seems to happed when i power it on, the white light is solid for a second, and then the light goes off i know it’s not a power issue because the ethernet link/act light is responsive
I am installing a Sonos system in a new house build. I have 2 pair (4 speakers) of the new Sonos 8” in-ceiling speakers in one room and 1 pair (2 speakers) of the Sonos 6” in-ceiling speakers in another room. I would like to connect all 6 Sonos in-ceiling speakers to the same Sonos AMP. I would like to put an impedance volume control in line with the 2, 6” speakers so I can control them separately while on the same zone. Two questions. Will this setup work? Will the Monoprice 300-Watt Rotary Impedance Matching Speaker Volume Control work for this application? Thank you
I have 10 amps in my house. They are all connected via Wi-Fi through unifi access points. They used to be connected by ethernet but I had network slowdown problems. Currently with the Wi-Fi setup, at least three of my amps are dropping in and out. They were fine for a long time but just this week it started. Each has a strong Wi-Fi signal. Anything in particular I should look at? I've seen a few of the unifi threads and I think my settings are correct.
I have the original sonos amp (white one) and just purchased the new black amp. Can I use the power cord from the old amp or do I have to use the one that came with the new amp?
It’s absolutely crazy that Sonos would get rid of the play next or add to queue or add to end of queue feature. It is Ludacris. Do you know how many people use that function? Big mistake buckos.
Hello, I have a setup in my home with 5 outdoor speakers connected to my Sonos amp all with wire through the walls and conduits (was done during the remodel stage). I connect it wirelessly via phones for music easily.i want to buy an outdoor projector which will be able to connect to the system, and I’m pretty lost on how I can do it.any recommendations?
I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable, ERA 300 speakers, a port Line-in, and a preamp which was part was suggested by your support team. Everything is connected to my Sonos App, but the the sound from the turntable is still incredibly low. Help! The Line-in volume is set to max, but still VERY low sound,
I see “Something went wrong” every time I use the new app now. It is truly appalling! How can anyone release such unfinished and untested trash.Playing a song, grouping speakers, adding a device, I’m expecting that unhelpful message every time I click now.So many bugs.
I am playing Spotify - casting from an iPad to the Port. The port is connect to my Onkyo via analog ¼ in cables. I can’t control the volume from the receiver nor from the Sonos app . It says if is controlled through Sonos. So do I just accept whatever volume it decides to play ? The useless fixed, variable and pass-through settings on the Sonos app seem to have vanished. I’m not quite sure what the “ expected” behavior is supposed go be - but this is an ongoing issue that only seems to be getting worse!
