I picked up this play base from a friend who said it just stopped working, gave me it FOC, (he has far too much £££) I plugged it in & there’s no lights on the front but there’s an awful high pitched sound coming from within, doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the speakers. When plugged in for a 10mins the top surface is getting warm which I’d expect but nothing else. I’m sure it’s out of warranty & I’m not sure who to turn to. Any advice would be appreciated.
I don’t seem to be able to play any Podcasts. If I use iHeart Radio or Tune-in, if I select a podcast, the mobile app (iPhone 13.0.2, Sonos build 62187200) I get a message that says, ‘Unable to play <podcast>. Unable to connect to <service>.’ The weird thing is that I can stream radio stations and other content just fine, it fails only on podcasts. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a Sonos one Gen 2. It is working fine as long as my Macbook and the Sonos are on the same Wifi network. As soon as I switch my Macbook to a different Wi-Fi network, The Sonos is not visible to the Mac. Is that a design limitation or is there a solution?
I had an S1-only system and recently removed all the S1-only products and upgraded the system to S2 successfully. I’m now setting up a split/separate S1 system with my old components. I plugged an old Play:5 into the router via ethernet and successfully created the S1 system. Then I plugged in my bridge and tried to add it to the system, but the S1 never finds the bridge. The bridge had green blinking light when I pushed connect on the S1 app, then I pushed the button on the bridge and it changed to amber flashing. Eventually the flashing amber went back to flashing green and the app just said it never found the bridge. Any advice? It was working fine before I reset everything to create the S2 system. My bridge is pretty old, see pic. I’m guessing this has something to do with its firmware being reset, but no idea how to deal with that.
I recently moved to the New Eero 6 Pro wifi mesh system with 3 nodes. I had a similar Netgear Orbi system before this. Now I can no longer see my sonos matrix. Any ideas?
Hi Purchased an Orbi RBR50 router and satellite mesh Wi-Fi for our house. Mix of older and new gen Sonos components (Play3, Playbar & One). When running set up in the Sonos S2 App its finds the product but when trying to connect to the Sonos network, I get a ‘Unable to joying the network “SONOS”.’Ran the same setup with the old wifi router and it set up ok.Only variable is Orbi. Any hacks or trips please?Or is the Orbi useless with Sonos? If so, what mesh wifi works with Sonos?Thanks..Matt
This issue has been previously posted BUT the “solution” did not work for me. Ever since I upgraded my modem/router to a Netgear CAX30-100NAS and the speaker will only connect briefly (if at all) to my iPhone. I have removed and reconnected my network (the 2.4 and 5 ghz) numerous times. I have tried all of the internet and Sonos and IKEA’s suggestions and “solutions” but nothing works. I am about to recycle this speaker. SONOS employee, what is my real solution? Don’t tell me to do what was listed here because it didn’t work:
Hi, I have a number of Sonos products at various rental properties. At one property the Gen 1 Play 5 seems to have been hacked and the email changed to someone who stayed there. How on earth do I reset it without the password for this account?
Does anyone have the occasional problem when you turn on your tv like normal and there will be no sound from the soundbar?Restarting tv fixes the issue
Here’s the summary:iPhone 12 is my new device that won’t connect (running on 14.7.1) The app keeps giving me the message: "Connect this mobile device to wifi to continue" Was working fine up until a few nights ago--as in, it worked during the day, but stopped one evening. I had not made any changes to either the phone or the system or any wifi related devices in my house. The app IS still working on my older devices and my computer (not updated to 14.7.1 - the update on my newer device was done at least a week before these issues began)Here’s what I’ve done to try and solve it:Delete and reinstall app Forgotten and reconnected to the Wifi Reboot phone Reset network settings on phone Reset all settings on phone Reboot router Reboot Sonos system Spent about 2 hours on the phone with Sonos support who also couldn’t figure out what was wrong.Sonos support told me to do the following on the router and I was able to:Make sure that no parental control on network devices is blocking Sonos.
This hasn't been adequately answered in the community as yet.For me, it happens randomly (today) no new software, changes to voice assistant, etc. Random network drop outs have been a proposed culprit, but why does it still work if I use the Alexa on my phone. This fact alone points to issues in Sonos - either the microphone is not picking up the question / statement being made to Alexa correctly, or other wiring/electronics issues. However more likely a sonos network issue, given that all sonos products with microphones are equally affected.Any thoughts, brilliant experienced sonos community?
Hi folks! My Sonos 1’s won’t connect to my Netgear Orbi. I’ve factory reset them and tried to get them to add as surrounds to my Sonos Arc, but they just fail to connect. Sonos 1’s are running 13.2.Netgear Orbi running V2.7.3.22 Any and all advice is appreciated!! Tim
Hello, I have 2 PLAY:5 gen 2 and both of the cable are ripping of at the connection. When I try to remove the cable from the speaker I feel like the cable will split in half. Let me know if its normal. Thanks
Despite going through all the steps my three Sonos Ones have disappeared from view on my Sonos system. A Three still shows up but the Ones have gone. How do I get them back? I will never buy Sonos again if this is a deliberate attempt to force people into an upgrade.

I’m having issues with a symfonisk bookshelf speaker as in the music stops playing then starts again. It sometimes starts a few seconds later or several minutes or longer. Currently running a play 5 (gen 1) 2 x play 1s set up as rear surrounds with my playbase a connect another symfonisk bookshelf speaker and a boost all work perfectly fine. Recently changed to BT complete Wi-fi (new router) so have no signal problems. The problem was apparent with my old router aswell so possibly an issue with the speaker ? Any advice would be brill.
I’m having a problem with my Sonos Amp. I almost exclusively use TuneIn on the Amp, and often the audio stream will just stop. If I check on a phone or PC it will show the audio has stopped and I need to press play to have it start again. I am pretty sure it only ever happens after a commercial break is coming to an end. Not every commercial break though. Sometimes it happens after 10 minutes, sometimes after an hour or two. Three TuneIn stations that I use have this problem - 181.fm Beatles, Classic Hits, Classic Rock Hits. These are really the whole reason I even use the Sonos. The Amp is hard wired via ethernet into my switch, then hard wired to 4 speakers. There is no wireless being used. I don’t believe it to be an Internet issue; I can stream 4K video content with no buffering.Any advice would be appreciated. It’s getting annoying.I created a diagnostic report - 151035383Thank you.
I am running into something very similar to this my problem however is the opposite, the second I connect the speaker to the Ethernet port, it just disappears. the speaker is still connected to Ethernet and I can see it in my fritzbox 7530 but the Sonos app can’t find it. i have 5 sonos speakers (symfonisk) they all have the same problem. I recently got rid of my Google Wi-Fi because the fritzbox offers me 4x the performance. I just didn’t think my sonos speakers would stop working.
Hi AllLong time Sonos user of over 13years…. Nothing has changed in my setup, but I’m experiencing a strange issue where one of my Zones will drop out when playing a radio station over the internet. All other zones continue playing. The Zone will then come back on a couple of minutes later, and a while later a different zone might drop out! As it’s different zones at different times, I’ve ruled out hardware… also a zones use Play 1 and also Sonos Connect, so it’s not even the same hardware each time. My setup is that I have 5 zones… 3 have Play 1 devices and 2 have Connect devices. 1 of the connect devices is connected via wire to the router, the others are all wireless…. I’m unsure whether they are using their own network created by Sonos, or whether they use my WiFI…. In the old days I don’t think using the house WiFi was an option and now it is. A zone can play fine for 30 minutes and then drop out for a minute…. the device that last did it is in the same room as a WiFi access poi
I recently moved my Sonos system to a new home, and new wifi network. All products working except for the Connect:Amp which is not recognized by the Sonos controller on my iPhone or iPad. Tried resetting - got the green light - then the connect:amp shows up as setting up but never gets through the full process. I then tried connecting to my router over ethernet. Failed. Reset again and this time the controller sees the connect:amp. Goes through set-up then says needs a software update. Go through the software update process and looks like I am in business. Then get a message saying that the connect:amp is not registered. I attempt to register and that fails. Still shows as connected so I unplug from ethernet. Reboot the connect:amp and now it does not show up in the controller. Tried to set up again and the system is not recognizing the connect:amp. Arggh. One possibly important note - in the height of frustration I decided to take advantage of the upgrade program and ordere
alexa on Sonos start with very low volume after a command is given, for about 6 seconds then goes up to normal volume. Alway missing to hear the first few seconds of what is playing.
I’m getting the Error “unsupported format” when playing the KALW station today. I don’t have any issues with the other NPR stations. I saw some other threads with it intermittently happening for others (KQED and BBC) but I didn’t find any tips on how to resolve it from the user end. Any thoughts?
I use a TV as my computer monitor via an HDMI cable and a playbase as an external speaker. When I updated my playbase to S2, I lost sound coming from my computer. I can still stream music to the playbase but I get no sound from the computer. It's as if the optical audio cable was not connected between the TV and playbase. I've tried replacing the cable to no avail. I've also replaced the HDMI cable from the computer to the TV. The windows 10 sound troubleshooter replaced the audio drivers. Still no sound. Please help. Thank you.
For some reason the Trueplay tuning for one of my Sonos speaker groups disappeared (2 Play 5 and 1 Sub as a stereo speaker setup). The app prompts me to setup Trueplay for this room, but after successfully going through all the steps, the Trueplay tuning is not saved.I’ve tried multiple times, as well as restarting all network equipment and Sonos speakers, but with the same result. Is anyone experiencing any similar issues? If anyone from Sonos sees this, here is the diagnostics number:Your confirmation number is: 740462179 Pontus Sjöberg.
On my matrix 00:0E:58:24:A6:D8 (mancave) appears as well as 00:0E:58:24:A6:D9 (undefined) …. I don’t have a device with this MAC… but it seems ridiculously close to the other…. is it perhaps because it’s a ‘connect’ device and has 2 LAN ports? How do I purge the one I’m not using now from the matrix? Thanks
