Hello - After years of no issues, my Port suddenly stopped broadcasting music in the middle of listening to it today. Port still appears in my system. No issues with interconnectivity. Can still work for all other music channels / sources EXCEPT direct line in. I currently have a turntable plugged into it via a pre-amp. RCA’s to from the preamp’s out  to the PORT’s input. However Port no longer recognizes when this turntable or any other RCA device is plugged into it. It just shows as the LINE AN source as “disconnected” in the app. Any ideas? Attempted a reset, that did not work. Support seems stumped as well. I swapped RCA cables and devices. It’s as if the input just suddenly died while I happened to be using it. Any ideas?

Hello, everyone.I'm new to the forum, and I'm writing as I'm considering buying Sonos devices to implement multiroom at home.I have a big doubt though, I would also like to connect an old hi-fi system via Sonos PortI currently use the hi-fi system to listen to films, played on a Chromecast with Google TV connected to a projector.Now the big question, can I stream the audio of a film from the Chromecast to Sonos Port? If so could there be latency issues?Thanks in advance.

Hi All, My Sonos system previously had (2) amps and (1) one SL speaker and everything was working fine, (all items were hooked up wirelessly).  I did recently change my wireless provider but I reconnected all the devices with no issues.I added an additional one SL speaker to the system (total of 2 one SL speakers) and everything was working fine until one of my amps disappeared from the system shortly after adding the speaker. When I tried to factory reset the amp that disappeared, it keeps failing to connect to the network even through all the other Sonos devices are connected to the same network with no issues. I keep getting a message during set up that says “the connection to your Sonos Amp was lost.  Move your mobile device closer and make sure Sonos Amp is powered on.”  The amp and router are only about 5’ away from each other and the amp is obviously on during set up (my cell phone is also next to the amp during set up).  I tired to hard wire the amp with an ethernet cable but s

Hi All, I have an AVR and I connected a port to it. Now I can switch to the Port input and it will play stereo out the left and right channels in my theater. My AVR has sub pre-out’s and I want to purchase a powered sub and attach it to one of  the pre-outs. Will the Sub work with the music streaming out of the Sonos Port ? I obviously also expect the sub to work when I am just using the theater normally as well. I am still figuring out how to also replicate the stereo sound to my rear channels as well. I have a Denon S660H if that helps. Would appreciate any feedback on this.Thank you.​​​​​​​  

I’m looking to install 4 sonos ceiling speakers into a living/dining room, powered by one amp. The ceiling is sloped (single slope, shed roof style). The room is 25’ L x 17’ W. The slope runs along the long wall.My question is around placement and options for balancing the sound. Two options:Have all 4 speakers at the same height about 1/3 of the way up the slope. With the slope pitch, this would have the speakers face into the middle of the room. The speakers would not be so much left/right of the listener, more coming from one direction but at least all at the same height. Have 2 speakers at 1/3 way up the slope and another two directly in line with those at 2/3 up the slope. A more standard quadrant setup. However, they would not be at the same height. The issue here is how I’d control the balance of the higher vs closer speaker on the pitched ceiling. Would Trueplay be able to balance the height differences? I realize that without adding a second amp there is no way to control the

The AMP connects to the TV using ARC which means it should be able to receive a higher quality audio signal from streaming and local media.Even the first generation Sonos Beam supports it, yet the more expensive AMP does not. Is there any reason why this is the case?DD+ is vastly superior to DD, and considering most people who have the AMP pair higher end bookshelf speakers with the device, we should have the option to listen to DD+. What do you guys thing?

My system (running on Sonos Net) has been stable for about a year. For no reason, no WLAN changes etc. the r/h stereo pair (Play3 - deats below), keeps ”forgetting” its paired status and no music will play thru it. The L/H speaker works fine, whilst still paired. If I break the pair I can play music thru the individual R/H speaker without needing to reconnect to SonosNet or system. I can even re add the 2 speakers to a steep pair again with no problem. However, overnight the R/H speaker will stop playing in a pair and I have to repeat the same process. It is not dropping network or Sonos net connection overnight. I have removed the whole system and reconfigured it all again but same thing keeps happening. Also, recent software updates (latest = 15.7) removed my System Name from the config and only retained the speaker products. Hello,I am wanting to add two speakers outside my house. My current setup is one sonos amp that is hardwired to 4 (non sonos brand) in ceiling speakers. The amp is also connected to my TV and soundbar via an hdmi line and via an optical line. My bass is connected into the amp as well.I am just wondering if there is a way to add 2 more wireless or wired speakers to the system in this currently set up.  Thank you in advance.

Hi Community!I currently have an integrated amp with multiple inputs (turntable, CD player, AM/FM tuner) and multiple passive speaker outputs grouped by room (kitchen, patio, living room, etc.) The speakers are connected to a switcher for each set (room) and connected to the integrated amp via two L/R speaker connections.I am wondering if the switcher could connect to Amp via the two L/R speaker connections (thinking yes). However, I do not know how to solve the component input question. Would I need a preamp?The goal is to take my existing analog/passive system, integrate it with SONOS speakers, and control everything through the SONOS app. However, the speaker switcher would probably be recognized as one channel, right? Would I need an app for each room, then? Thank you!

I have a Nuvo based system that has 8 separate zones and 12 pairs of wired speakers, each pair driven by an Elan amplifier (12 amplifiers total).  The Nuvo Music Port has gone bad, and I’m thinking of switching to Sonos.  Since I already have an amplifier for each speaker pair, I’d like to use the Sonos Port as the source as opposed to the Sonos Amp.  I’m thinking of combining a few zones so I could cover the entire area with 4 or 5 Ports.  While this will reduce the independent zones to 4 or 5, I won’t have to buy 8 Ports (or even 12 if I wanted one for each amplifier).  My question is whether the Port’s output can be split 2 or even 4 ways to feed the amplifiers without having a problem with signal attenuation.  Comments from anyone who has experience with this would be much appreciated.

Hi, I would like to get Sonos system (I don’t have any yet). For the living room:I’d like to keep my KEL LS50 W1 and my subB&W DB4S.I’ll use this system for music listing and watching TV.I understand so far:Sonos amp: Ok for the sub but I need passive speakerSonos Port: Ok for the speaker, not the Amp, not the TV (lag)I’d like to Add 2 Era 300 has a rear speaker.Not a big fan of esthetic of a bar in this room (arc)  For the dinning roomI’d like to connect a beam gen 2 to the second TVIs gen 2 a big difference w Gen 1?Add 1 or 2 speaker in the open kitchen (Witch one?) If the community can help me specially for the living room !  

Hello everyone, I want to install a  Sonos system at home, my idea is to install 3 sonos amp, i Will conect them wired to a not gestionable swicht next to my router.My doubt is related With  the WiFi conexión, i have at home 3 diferent acces points around home same Id and password also in range in the main network, Will the App work, do i have to make am especific configuración of my network.

I moved to a new house with an existing Sonos soundbar and an Sub Woofer that was connected to a smart home system (i could not set up Sonos System by myself yet) the house has built in speakers with an 5 different zones (10 cables). Is there a Sonos Amp I can get to connect these cables and the existing speakers to be controlled by the Sonos App? it seems all the amps only connect one physical output.

Not counting the S1 vs S2 benefit, is the new equipment better from the perspective of musical qualities?My main problem is that I use a single ZP100 as both an amp to drive a set of speakers in one room, and effectively as a ZonoPlayer by using the Audio Out connected as a source for my HiFi (turn off Hi-fi if not needed in that room or turn down Sonos Zone if not needed in the other). This does not seem possible with the new Amp (no audio output). So that aspect will need to be reconfigured.It is the improvements in sound quality that currently interest me. As always thanks in advance for any insightsEnEm 

HiYesterday, I installed my Port and it worked largely as advertised. My system has a turntable, vacuum tube preamp and vacuum tube power amp. The port’s RCA inputs are connected to the preamp’s output, and the port’s RCA outputs are connected to the power amp’s Line in. I can play the turntable through the Sonos speakers, which is why I bought the Port, but I can no longer play the turntable just (not through the Sonos speaker) through the hifi speakers without first removing the Port. Is there an app setting I’m missing, or does the Port not just pass through audio signals if the app is not in use?

I have a Sonos 1 system with several speakers that are only able play at Sonos 1 level.I inherited some classic vinal and want to play over my existing level 1 speakers.I purchased a Connect and have the line out from the turntable going into line in on the Connect.The connect is connected to my Sonos 1 system and I can see it in the Sonos app.I cannot get any music to play through my speakers, have I purchased the wrong “Connect” to play my albums on my Sonos 1 system.Thanks in advance.

I have a large outdoor installation of speakers connected to Sonos Ports. I wanted to create a schedule to disable/mute the speakers from 10PM to 10AM to prevent family members or guests from accidentally playing music outside and annoying my neighbors. It’s happened several times as they don’t always pay attention and there are so many ways to select the outdoor speakers (spotify, airplay, etc). Having the ability to have restricted or blackout times would be very helpful. 

General question: does boost help with connectivity issues when NOT using the Sonos mobile app?  I get drastically different results when streaming music through Sonos app and Apple Music. When stream from apps other than Sonos, performance is spotty and spottiness increases when streaming to higher number of speakers. 

Have 6 Sonos in ceiling speakers with Sonos amp. Bringing amp down so it doesn’t cook in my attic, using wall plate to connect. Wiring in parallel per Sonos guide, can I just use a 4 binding post (2 pair) wall plate and consolidate in the attic combining 3 speakers per banana clip? Or is it better to have a 12 binding post (6 pair) wall plate and then consolidate LR ± in the Sonos amp. Would prefer to do the first as the mess will be on the other side of the wall vs in my cabinet and visible. TIA

Can the Port driving a slave amp be configured to work with an ARC to drive rear speakers in surround? Dan

I am planning to add a phono to my sound system setup. I currently have a port connected (Digital Out) to an external Analog-to-Digital Converter which then runs to my stereo preamp, then amplifiers, then speakers (of course). In this way, I am avoiding the Port A-to-D, and using my supposedly better fidelity off-board converter. If I were to connect a phono to the port, I assume I would connect to the line in. I have a few questions: I assume the RCAs labeled “Out” on the port are analog outputs? Do I connect the phono pre-amp before the “In” RCAs, or after the “Out” RCAs? I read before the “In” is correct, but does it matter? Would the phono signal be available at the output RCAs, as well as the digital out?  Would the output RCAs have been digitized/un-digitized, or would it just be pass-through? In other words, would the line-in source be passed to the “Out” RCAs without going through a A-to-D and then an D-to-A?Obviously, I could just route phono to phono pre-amp, then to stereo p

I’m considering getting a half decent CD player - perhaps a Marantz CD6007.  Highly rated, decent DAC, looks good - what’s not to like.  My only speakers are my Sonos - Five / Play:5 in a fairly inaccessible location in the kitchen, Beam 2 / Sub / 2 x Symfonysk lights as my TV surround in the living room, and 1’s dotted around the house.What’s the best way to connect the CD player?  Logically the answer is the Port, but I see people say a Five is “just as good” an option.  it’s just mines are high up and  not necessarily in the right room to listen or run a 3.5mm cable to!At some point I’d perhaps consider Era 300’s for the living room, though (and this is tragic) the fact the Symfonisk’s are decent side lights is actually one of the draws to keeping the Symfonisks, and I’d need new lights to replace them, and have to figure out how to fit both Era’s and replacement lights on to very small tables.  As I said, tragic, first world, stupid problems! 🤣   What do you think my best option i

Ever since I upgraded to the Sonos S1 iOS app a few years ago, I’ve been having connection issues. Here’s what’s happening: I have a Sonos Connect:Amp. The amp is in a basement cabinet with router and cable modem. I have 2 exterior rock speakers that are hard-wired directly into the amp. The amp is connected via Ethernet to a small hub that’s connected to the WiFi router right next to the unit. The Sonos LAN settings are configured for Ethernet (says WM:0) in About My System. I have 2 WiFi networks. Call them Primary and Secondary. The reason for the Secondary will be explained below. The Primary WiFi network is an Apple AirPort Extreme (located on 3rd floor) with AirPort Express repeaters at different spots around the home (garage, basement and pool cabana, all Ethernet wired). I have full strength no matter where I am. It’s been rock solid for years. I have two Sonos Connect devices (in different rooms) running S1. Device A is connected by ethernet and B by wifi. RIght now, my router reserves bandwidth both for the Ethernet connection to A and for the Wifi connection to A, along with the wifi to B. (The router recognizes 3 Sonos connections.) The problem is the router partitions bit-speed, and I'm at the limit of what my ISP can do. So I want to make the A connection eithernet only, bringing down the denominator by one in the division of bandwidth. Sonos does have a setting for that, but when I disable wifi to A, mysteriously B disappears from my system. Can anyone help me fix this?
