Advanced setups

Hi,  here’s my Setup:PA with semiprofessional mixer; Sonos Port as Input for PA; 2 older TVs; Amazon Fire TV Cube (2. gen.); HDMI Splitter for the 2 TVs, Bluetooth Connector  What i try to reach:Playing Youtube on the TVs while streaming the sound to the Sonos Port Problem:The connection between Amazon Fire TV Cube and Sonos Port is via bluetooth and extremly prone to failure.  Does anyone have a better idea to solve this? Thx, Kon.

When creating a playlist file in foobar2000, the characters in the tracks prompt me to use m3u8 instead of m3u. m3u files work OK on Sonos, but m3u8 files have four bytes at the start of the file that throws Sonos, which says that it can’t play the file. This error comes up at the start and then it goes on to play the remainder of the files properly.The bytes are  EF BB BF 23 - if deleted using a hex editor then the files play OK.It seems perfectly reasonable that Sonos should ignore garbage, but does anyone know which software is at fault? i.e. should Sonos play m3u8 files properly, or is Foobar200 not creating them properly?

Have a new home no hardline internet for 5 months.Have 8 ceiling speakers and Arc for Tv.  2020 iPad cellular 30Gb Hotspotiphone 8 30gb hotspot  Will I be able to setup speakers via iPad hotspot and iPhone as the controller?Is it possible to use router to bridge my iPad hotspot for the connection or is that even needed? Does my Sonos need active internet to function with airplay2 once it’s setup?  What would be your solution given my current situation?  Thanks 

Hi, I’ve got an Symfonisk running in a seperate VLAN than my pc’s/laptops (V12.1 build 60381140) /mobile devices (IOS/android V 12.1 build 60381140) .I’ve found already a few KB article's but i don’t get it to work.The setup is the following:Ubiquity UDM Base multiple VLANS per VLAN / network the following is turned on Network ==> IGMP Snooping enabled Network ==> UPnP enabled Wireless ==> Multicast enhancement (IGMPv3) Wireless ==> BBS Transition with WNM Wireless ==> Remaps ARP table for station Multicast DNS is enabled UPnP is enabled with the following options Secure mode Network where SONOS lives Network where PS/Laptops lives Network where mobile devices live Firewall rule Lan in rule 2000 Source PC/Laptop VLAN Destination Sonos IP Accept everything rule 2001 Source mobile devices VLAN Destination Sonos IP Accept everything What i try, i’m not able to connect with the app (on android / ios / win10) to the Sonos.Only when i change my net

I recently moved to a new apartment and the way the set up works, I cannot easily place my Play 5 right next to my turntable as I’ve done previously. I’m thinking of running an audio wire through a wall in my closet to the Play 5 but wanted to check to see if there is a max length you guys would recommend for the wire to not distort the audio quality? I think the max length I would need is 10 to 12 feet. Thanks, George

Bonjour,  J’ai 2 Sonos One dans le salon depuis plusieurs années, configurés en paire stéréo.  Depuis quelques jours le son ne sort que sur une seule enceinte. J’ai défait et refait la paire plusieurs fois, le son sort correctement sur les 2 une seule fois juste après le pairing mais ça ne tient pas : la fois suivante seule une enceinte diffuse le son. Aussi, l’enceinte qui ne diffuse pas de son garde quand même ses fonctions de commandes tactiles sur la paire (volume et pause).  Supprimer et réintégrer les enceintes à mon système Sonos ne règle pas le problème. Je croise les doigts pour trouver une solution.Merci de votre aide.

My AMP has stopped working and will not restart at all using the various options.  I was re-adding the external speakers with shorter speaker wire when this occurred. The wiring terminals are correctly matched. I may not have powered off the AMP, but it was not playing.To restart, I have tried matching a power cable from another product, attached to router, held down the connect button when powering etc.  All I hear is a clicking sound but no light and no life.Is it a lost cause or is there another option to restart this thing?  Sonos does not provide weekend support in Australia other than email the CEO...

I am renting a house that already has a Sonos system setup on it. I do not want to connect to the owners system, but want to add my system to this wifi. My system consists of 2 Move speakers. Is this possible?

Dear Community;   I have read countless posts about IOT VLANs for Sonos speakers while having the controllers in iPhones/Android phones, ipads, etc on a separate VLAN. I believe it is a must ( minimum security practice) to protect my home NAS/servers. However, reading the latest posts, it seems the new Sonos App ver 10.6 broke existing solution. Given this, what should I do? Any guides or best practices I should follow?   Here is what I have and what I have tried: PFSense firewall with the following VLANS: VLAN1: 192.168.10.x/24 with Windows 10 PCs VLAN20 IOT: 192.168.20.x/24 with Sonos players VLAN30 WIFI: 192.168.30.0/24 with iphone, ipads, laptops I have tried AVAHI, IGMP Proxy, and PIMD …. none of them worked. It seems the broadcasts are registered but still the controller apps cannot find the speakers.  Yet, the iphone controller is the only that seems to be able to find the speakers ( previously configured and added to the app), so I can go from VLAN30 to VLAN20.   Is

My existing setup is a 5.1 channel system which is pretty straight forward-Playbase Sonos Sub 2 One SLs for surroundI am looking to add a pair of Ascendo c8-c’s to my setup which I have been using separately as stereo.I have a Sonos connect s15, a bel canto s300i integrated amp and 2 d-sonic monoblock amps for each of the Ascendos which I intend on using in order to integrate with the Playbase home theatre system.Following is what I have tried-Sonos Connect s15L&R Output to L&R monoblocks each bi-wired into the Ascendos Optical Out to Home theatre system (into playbase and hence the  5.1 channel setup)I have not hooked up my TV out to the connect yet, I’ll set that up later.The Sonos Controller cannot add the playbase and connect in one room, it adds separate rooms for each.The connect room is called “Ascendo-Connect” and the home theatre set up is called “Playbase”.Following are the challenges I am facing-When I use the party mode in the Sonos Controller everything plays beaut

Hello everyone,I’ve recently bough two Sonos Play 1’s to set up the renowned Surround for Sonos for my Game room TV.Suffice to say the setup was a breeze trough the Sonos App and the DTS 5.1 and Dolby Surround content are absolutely amaizing, even though i have no Apple device what so ever and can’t benefit from Trueplay tunning.Sadly i can not enjoy the Surround anymore….However half my usage is Surround content the other half is music streamed from my PC, TV, or otherwise my DJ mixing equipment, and this involves Stereo sound. Just as the surround sounds absolutely magnificent on the Surround group, stereo sound is absolute garbage. And i am completley baffled because i can play Spotify in it directly and it sounds amaizing again, but anything i output into the group sounds total garbage.The only work around i have found so far si to break out the surround group and make a second stereo pair as a group and have them play in tandem, it now sounds exactly like when i play it via Spotif

I have a Sonos Arc, Sub and 2 Amps (one for front speakers, one for rear speakers) in my Greatroom.Can the Sonos system be configured so that when i am watching TV the Sonos Arc, Sub and 1 Amp (rear speakers) are activate. Then when i want to listen to music i want both Amps for front and rear speakers and the Sub, no Arc?The Amp for the rear speakers is the common element between the two configurations, can i link the sub that the rear speaker Amp so that the Sub will be available for both configurations?   

I have an Oticon TV adapter that bluetooths to my hearing aids that uses a TosLink optical cable. I need to extract audio from the Sonos Beam which only has an HDMI ARC connection to my Sony Bravia TV HDMI ARC port. I bought an HDMI switch with ARC feature and TosLink out connection and am wondering how to get it to work with the Beam. I put the HDMI from the Beam into the switch “IN” and connected a “high speed” HDMI to “OUT” and then into HDMI ARC port on TV. Also tried the opposite but does not work either way.  Any ideas?

Hi alli have 2 x Play 3s as a stereo pair in my living room. I’ll be buying a Beam soon and what to know If the existing play 3s will be better for the surround or do I need to buy 2 x Sonos 1. Will be adding a sub at a later date. thanks

Hi, If anyone can help solve this dilemma it would be much appreciated.I have 2 SONOS 3's in my living room on a 2.4 network.At the end of my garden, i have an outhouse for work. There is a hard wired data cable running from the. house SKY router into the outhouse. I have a D-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Router in the outhouse as an extender and have the same networks as in the house available, both 2.4 and 5ghz.In the outhouse i have 2 SONOS 1's, but i cannot get them to group with the SONOS 3's in the house. They jump inot my app depending on where i am, house or outhouse but i cannot play the same music in both. I assume i have to get an ethernet splitter but want the SONOS to be wireless so don't relaly see why i can get the D-Link to work as one with the SKY router. I'm way out my depth but have tried to go into the system settings.Does anyone have any ideas per chance?Much appreciated.

I run pub quizzes around my local area and have started doing one that uses a Sonos system. I’ve not come across one in pubs I’ve worked with before, and need to know if it’s possible to use a microphone through it.Read a lot online, some say it’s impossible, some say it works but with 70ms delay, and others say totally works but need an external audio receiver.So I need to be able to play music and for me to speak through it.Any advice is greatly received, even if it’s to say that this just isn’t possible.

I have two Sonos One speakers.  They have worked fine for over a year.  Music sound comes from both speakers.  Starting last week, sound comes from only one of the speakers.  I can get sound over the Living Room speaker but not the Office speaker.  Or, I can get sound over the Office speaker but not the Living Room speaker.  Sound no longer comes from both speakers at the same time.  I only use the speakers to play music usually through the services offered by Sonos.  Both speakers are wirelessly connected to my router.  How do I return to getting sound from both speakers at the same time?

I saw a bunch of other threads, and they do say Wi-Fi issues, although they’re light on details. I’m starting my own in case it’s different from the others.. Also, sorry for the wall of text. While my issue is Wi-Fi related, it does not seem network related, or at least in the sense of connecting to the AP I have in my house which is dedicated for these speakers. Nor do I have L3 connectivity issues to the speakers when they’re operating independently (not in a home theatre, also except the sub can’t play music without pairing to another speaker). I have 2x Play:1, 1x Playbar, and 1x Sub which make up a home theatre config. I also have a Move, which is separate. App and devices are all running 12.1. I noticed that only my Playbar and Move were showing in the app, and I just had some question marks with the Playbar (it should’ve been in a home theatre config).I checked the Play:1s and the Sub, and they have a flashing white LED. Tried powercycling, leaving them off for 10 seconds. No ch

Version 12.1 update took me 20 mins to complete rather than 2-3 minutes it says in the message.  I almost pull the plug at the 15 minutes mark. 

Good afternoon all, I have a Sonos ARC with two one’s and a sub.  This is setup in my media room where I have 3 displays and would like to use the ARC as the audio for all 3.  Would a normal HDMI switch be able to Switch the EARC signal from each display to the Sonos ARC system?   Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I bought 2 x One SL’s to create surround sound with my beam and they went through the initial  set up but last second said something along the lines of “These can’t be used as a surround sound like this. You need to be connected to your router via Ethernet”. So do I need to have the beam connected directly to the router 24/7 just for the surround sound to be recognised and work?I currently have them packed away to be returned as it just wasn’t setting up easily.Any help would be appreciatedThanks.

Hey guys, I moved from a custom sound setup to Sonos a few weeks ago and I’m starting to regret it.    My Setup:    75 inch Q95E (Latest/Best 4K Samsung TV - 2020)  Sonos Arc+2SLs+Sub 3rd Gen (all 2020 versions)  Apple TV 4K (2019)    Cable Management   HDCPI 2.0 TV→ Apple TV ($50 cable)  Sonos Default Cable → eARC Port HDCPI 2.0 TV → Sony Playstation 4   Settings:   Samsung Software: 1302.4 (July 13th 2020) Input CEC: tried turning it off and on for the ATV input source nothing changes Lip Sync Sonos: I tried ALL settings +1/+5 nothing works  Samsung Sound Delay: Tried from 0 - 250 no perfect sync.   Issues! eArc is OFF - When I enable it there is no sound from Sonos on movies, input sources, or default apps. I have the latest Samsung TV Update that came out 13th of July 2020 - With eArc OFF I do get sound but then I have no options for passthrough from the other input devices (ATV/PS4) that results to lip sync issues!! Hi Sonos community!I have a new setup where I have two Play 5’s in stereo pair and a Sonos Arc in the same room (they are facing each other front to front and my room is about - please see image attached ). I have them configured as separate “rooms”. When watching TV, I use only Sonos Arc. When listening to music, I use both setups (Play 5’s in stereo and Arc). I have two questions:I’m not sure which Play 5 would be more appropriate to setup as right and left speaker. I don’t want the channels to get mixed with my Play 5’s and Arc. When listing to music… would it be better only to turn on Play 5’s in stereo pair and leave the Arc on mute? If yes, Then question 1 is not relevant anymore.NOTE: I also have a turntable connected my Play 5’s via line in. If I set them up as surround, I can’t play my turntable anymore. So that is not an option for me.
