I’m looking for some advice. I’ve just bought an LG CX 65inch, and am looking into soundbars. Given the slanted ceiling and open plan (to one side of the TV), I’m wondering whether Atmos would work with the Arc, or whether I should be looking for a multi-speaker setup instead.

The TV will soon be mounted, but the soundbar (if we go that way) would sit on a new tv stand.

Appreciate any help!

Hi @JTOWN, thank you for reaching out to us, and welcome to the Sonos community. We appreciate you for letting us know your concern. Let me help you with this.

The Sonos Arc must be connected to your TV’s HDMI-ARC input to play Dolby Atmos content. If Arc is receiving an Atmos signal, we will display that within the Sonos App on both the "Now Playing" screen, and within the settings portion of our app. For more information, see our article on playing Dolby Atmos on Sonos.

You mentioned that your TV will be mounted, let me share with you the Sonos Arc placement. The Arc requires a minimum of 5.5 inches on the front and sides of it, with at least 2 inches between the backside of the Arc and the TV when in a tabletop orientation. If wall-mounting, it is recommended to have a clearance of at least 5.5 inches between the TV and Arc. You can also tune your Sonos with Trueplay. Trueplay measures how sound reflects off walls, furnishings, and other surfaces in a room, then fine-tunes your Sonos speaker to make sure it sounds great no matter where you've placed it. You can also adjust the balance and loudness of your speakers in the Sonos app.

We can wait for suggestions and feedback from our Sonos community users if they have a similar room size as yours, and you may also contact our sales specialists through phone or email where you can send the floor plan for further assistance. We're here to answer any further questions you have. You're always welcome here in the Community.
