Advanced setups

I plugged an ethernet cable into my Play 5 gen 2 which moved all other Sonos products to one wifi (wired) client group. Now my other clients which require 2.4 e.g. (Roborock vacuum) can’t connect to 2.4ghz at all. My wireless 2.4 network now has zero clients.I went the wired route due to drop-off/cut-outs when streaming Amazon and Spotify, which seems to have resolved that problem. I suspect that Sonos wired now controls the 2.4 band, excluding all other devices as I can’t even connect a laptop or phone to 2.4ghz.How best to resolve this? BTW - the other issue I found out by research is that Sonos Play 1 speakers manufactured from 2016 on do work with the S2 app, those built earlier cause conflicts/cutting out (apparently memory issues). I had converted from S1 to S2 when I replaced my Play 5 gen 1 speakers. The telephone support got me connected to S2 for all speakers (Play 1 gen 1 2014-2018 versions, sub, playbar) but it did not solve my pre-upgrade cut

I ave a ARC, 2 era 300, a Sonos Big Subwoofer and Sub Mini, (2) era ones, and a Sonos AMP.  All devices listed are brand new, latest Gen.  I also have a 2023 Samsung Smart TV that has a eARC HDMI port, and a PS5.  Also an Apple TV 4K that can connect wherever via Ethernet or WiFi.  I already had the ARC, and ordered the 2 era 300’s you create Dolby Atmos.  Not even sure anymore if you can use WIFI to use the Era 300 with the ARC to create true Dolby Atmos.  The Sonos Arc only has 1 HDMI port so that kinda screws up things.  Any good recommendations?  Can I use the Sonos Amp as some sort of AV device to help

Hellowhen I play from my phone YouTube music on airplay I cannot play music on the devices with no airplay (play3) despite having matched them with airplay devices from Sonos app. How can I solve this? Thanks for helping 

Hello all. So I am new to the whole ‘soundbar’ game. I recently went to Best Buy to get their advice on what kind of soundbar and receiver to get for what I was trying to do, and they recommended getting a Denon receiver (AVR-S650H) and Sonos Arc soundbar. My goal was to have the soundbar connected to the TV and also to the receiver (because we use the receiver to play the radio through, and when we turn on the radio on the receiver, we’re wanting the radio to play through the soundbar). So, I have successfully connected the Arc soundbar to my TV (which I did via the HDMI Arc cable) to play the TV’s sound through it (and there have been no issues with this). But I am also wanting to connect the soundbar to my Denon AVR-S650H receiver (again, to have the radio come through the soundbar), but I am having difficulty on how to do this. How can I connect the Arc soundbar to the radio receiver without disconnecting it from my TV? Thank you

I just bought a one sl and already had four Play:1,’s.  I want to stream from airplay to all five speakers, I thought I could do that.  So far airplay on my iPhone only recognizes one sl not all of them

hello, everyone! i just bought my very 1st Sonos, Beam (Gen 2) last year. everythings went well except my TV’s remote can’t control the volume, so i always using the app to turn up/down the volume. i’m using Sony Bravia VU3 with RF remote and i’m kind of tired with this problem. can anyone help me here? maybe another device could solve this? oh, and i already tried to setup my remote via app thousands of time and never succeed.

Hi there, I’ve seen a thread that covers off my challenge - but it was started years ago, and regardless, never seems to have been resolved.   Given the adoption of Starlink as an ISP, it might be time to revisit.SITUATION:  I’m using the Starlink Mesh - 2 nodes - router and mesh (yes I’ve seen some challenges using Starlink with SONOS, but I’ve run into no problem- and generally it works ‘great’), but when I try to tie SONOS units together ‘play everywhere’ or attempt to join in units in other parts of the house - being serviced but the mesh node - I'm presented with the “Wireless range extender” error.   Those units connected to the mesh node do not play.  I live in a large house, with plaster and lathe walls, and NO consumer router can provide enough coverage - hence the mesh.  I did previously use the Google Mesh - but with the change in ISP, would prefer just to use the OEM router and mesh system.  QUESTION: Does anyone know if there’s a workaround/solution

I use a WDMyCloud drive as a music server for my collection of digitised vinyl and also for iTunes. Recently I recopied my iTunes folder to it and I can no longer get Sonos to recognise it.I copied the entire folder including subfolders (iTunes Music, Album Artwork etc.) and library files directly from my MacBook to  /Public/Shared Music on the WD drive, not from iTunes, and set the path in Sonos Preferences to //WDMyCloud/Public/Shared Music/iTunesAfter a few minutes updating I get a window telling me that the files are not available.I guess either the path is wrong/incomplete, or there is a problem with the iTunes folder, but from there on I’m in the dark rather!!What am I doing wrong?? I would be most grateful fo any suggestions .

Hi - I’ve just changed broadband provider, and I can’t connect my Sonos devices to the new network.  I have a Sonos 2 app, but the ‘network’ options are greyed out.  When I try to connect I get messages saying I need to ensure my ‘mobile device is connected to the internet and on the same WiFi as Sonos’.  But I can’t get Sonos on to the new Wifi.  Any ideas please?  Thanks

I have a firewall between my wifi network and my wired network. While they are two separate IP blocks, the firewall permits bidirectional traffic between them (I plan to lock things down once I have everything working).  I have an older Sonos V1 system on the wired network. When I try to locate it using the Sonos V1 app on my mobile device which is on the wifi network it does not discover it. What do I need to do on my firewall to allow the controller app running on the wifi network to discover the Sonos system on the wired network?Thanks

Sonos roam not powering on, it’s been on the charger for days and it’s still not powering on. I haven’t been using it for some time now, need help finding what to do.

Sonos claims that Bluetooth wireless headphones are not compatibility with Sonos. However, there is legitimate-looking info on the web stating Sonos will work with BT headphones via a BT transmitter device plugged into a Connect box.Does anyone have experience with making this setup work?

As a TV Viewer, I would like Sonos to pair my speaks for Surround sound. As a Turntable Listener, I would like Sonos to accept input from ‘Line-in’ and send it to the other speakers.As both, I would like the ability to have the Sonos automatically configure to my current mode, similar to most other high-fi units.

Sonos Community,I have a Sonos Whole House Music system with Port, Playbar, and (4) One SL’s. The system is configured into 3 rooms, and my main music source is my music library on an Apple MacBook Pro running MacOS Sonoma 14.3, The system is working fine. I added a playlist to Apple Music of songs in my music library, but this new playlist does not show up in my Sonos Library Imported Playlists, and other playlists I don’t use I want to delete, I can’t delete old playlists, or add the new playlist to Sonos with S2 version 15.11. Any ideas? Thanks.

My home has an existing Legrand audio system. Is there a document to guide how to change from existing to Sonos? 

My music library resides on my DROBO 5N, and it was working very well with my SONOS S1 system. The DROBO was taken offline for a while, and now I cannot get SONOS to recognize the path - I am sure it is the path that I used before. I checked the path from the Windows 10  network folder. The syntax is perfect.  Not sure what I am missing? Any help would be appreciated. 

My tv audio is not playing while directly wired to my sonos connect. The sonos plays in all speakers in the rest of the house (not the audio from that tv though). I have wired speakers in the ceiling, wired sonos speakers, and moves connected all over the property. This happened after changing internet provider. 

I have 7 Sonos speakers (1 Play 3, 4 Play 1s, 2 Ones), a Connect for my stereo, and a Boost.  The Boost is wired by ethernet cord to my Unifi Mesh network.  I keep my music stored on a Synology NAS with a Plex database on it.  My music collection is large and I have outgrown the ability to use the Sonos Music library and the Apple music limitations, so I have turned to Plex.  I can play music seamlessly from Apple Music on the Sonos App, but the Plex connection is frequently “lost” while trying to play music from Plex on the sonos App or thru Plexamp.  I’ve been on the phone multiple times with Sonos and run diagnostics and they don’t see any problems.  I can play music on my phone with Plexamp at home and anywhere I travel with no issues.  I don’t know if I am missing any settings on my wifi network or what.  I’d love to get some insight from others facing similar issues

Hello everyone I was designing my apartment interiors and wanted idea how to setup a speaker system predominantly for music and bit of Tv the space is little diverse as the Tv is placed in the family area and I also need coverage for the whole room for music as I would also be using my personal kitchen and dining alsoHave attached the picture  

I have a Sonos amp that I am enjoying with my hifi speakers But I’m some what disappointed with the lack of multi inputs.  I really want to connect cd, tape & phono.  Its been eating at me I just want to have it all there so I can use the other sonos speakers I get the urge to play vintage.  Could I use a multi input pre amp to the Sonos Amp? 

Hi all! I need the communities help and guidance with sizing and understanding Sonos speaker and amplifier setup in an extra large open space.I have been tasked with outfitting a large 2800sqft room (33’x85’ rectangular with sloped ceilings from 10’-14’ at the peak).  The idea is to install a bunch of Sonos in-ceiling speakers which will all play from the same music/input.  The room also doesn’t need to be excessively loud, like a concert hall, but it would still be nice to “fill the air” completely.Please help and guide me with selecting appropriate sizing, quantity and amplifiers to power these outputs and thanks in advance for your help! 

Hello All Fellow Sonotians !! I have a fairly substantial Sonos system (12 devices on S2) with a fairly substantial mesh network all in a fairly substantial (5000+ sqft) home. I have 6- EERO 6+ spread throughout 2 adjacent structures (main Home and shop).  I have 2- isp here both xfinity gig plus, and an Att fiber 1 gig.  To reel back For years I had the older Eero 2nd gen, spread over here as well as only xfinity. Life was grand Sonos was seamless. Never skipping, never missing a beat. EERO stopped updating the older routers so I removed these and replaced with the 6 plus units. Life was still ok so I thought , the music was fine at night or on the weekends. I noticed it started to skip more and more frequently… so I called in xfinity and had the lines checked thinking sure I’m perhaps loosing speed at peak intervals… well all was as good as could be.. I’m testing out well over 800mbps usually, at 4-5 pm on weekdays it drops off sharply so I call xfinity they say there is nothing t

Has anyone worked out a way to connect to Starlink? All my speakers will show up, then disappear. When I pair them again it really struggles to connect to the wifi. Please help!

Hi, we have a household with 4 kids, which is pushing the whole sonos system to the limit, which is now why i will have to change the setup.first, many rooms have a arc-sonos1 twice and subwoofer setup, so that is 4 devices per such room, which is how we easily get to 32+ devices. Add a few amps for outdoor music, some moves and bathroom music..i have a unifi mesh network, the sonos support mentioned it would be more stable to use sonosnet instead of wifi in this case. I tried that years ago, was very unstable, so am a bit cautious. I have ensured the sonos devices are all attached to a designated access point, to avoid the unsupported roaming. First question is any tips or experiences with sonosnet with a lot of devices?secondly, i need to have two households setup to go above 32. I have looked around on this forum, and see different experiences and failures and success with this on the same network. What is the best way to do it, any specific actions to make t

I'm working a garage project and we want the front lounge area to be some place people can hang out in. I have an Arc, G3 Sub and 2 Era 300's for the rear channel in surround. I'll also want to use this system for playing music. The room is approximately 25'x60', 1500 sq ft. Image of layout https://imgur.com/a/vdE21fL do i want to place the era 300's in position A or position B? A is the approximate midway point in the room, and B is about 60' away from the TV. If A is the best place, do i want to mount the era's on the wall and pointing into the room like 1 or put them on stands and have them point at the TV like 2? I tried calling Sonos, but it was quickly clear the person answering the phone was going to be on no help. any input/insight is appreciated!
