What to get

Hi guys, I have a Beam, 2 x One SL, Sub (Gen 3) and a Move. I have finally given into the lure of vinyl and I was wondering what the best option is for me and my current set up. The above speakers (minus the Move) are set up in my sitting room as a surround sound system - can I get a turntable that will play music through that set up? I’d need the Sonos amp or connect...right? Would this defeat the purpose of the turntable though, would if be better to get hifi speakers that I connect (analogue)? I’m a newbie to all this. Thank you.

Hi all,First post and I am considering a new SONOS setup :-)I recently moved into my flat which already has two ceiling speakers, one front and one back.What SONOS setup would you recommend to take advantage of these and provide the best home cinema experience? Please consider I have a small room and not looking to go 5.1 at this stage, so any setup will be focused around the TV. I was considering whether the Beam + Sub + Amp + existing ceiling speakers made sense.Thanks,Jag.

I know this is just a subjective individual need but what I love about this community is personal feedback on your own experiences…   I am a recent ARC owner who was going to build out to 5.1 over time, after reading about the bass ‘issues’ and loving bass from my old Denon setup I ordered the Gen 3 sub which arrives this morning - very excited    Now all that is left is the rear surrounds.    Should I enjoy the addition of the sub for now or just get it complete with a Sonos ONE SL WiFi Speakers With Vogels Floor Stands Bundle Black?   I won’t get ATMOS (for now) with my current 2016 Samsung which has ARC and the majority of watching is Netflix which is DD 5.1 in South Africa.    Your views are most welcome 😊   Russ

Can I use the Arc & Sub without rear speakers?  The room isn’t conducive to placing rear speakers and I am wondering if the Arc & Sub will provide enough sound on their own.

I am about to buy a Samsung QLED with the black friday deals but want to make sure i can:a) connect to my sonos system (new play 5’s & sonos 1) … i have a sonos port if neededb) wont have serious latency issues?  c) if there are major issues what tv do you recommend sony or LG 85”? i really dont want to have to buy an arc or playbar if i dont have to.

This is my first experience with Sonos, and I expect high-end customer service with high-end products like this. Last week I placed an order for a Beam on Sonos.com, they charged my bank account $400+ but my Sonos account shows no open orders. I'm a new customer so the account shows no orders, ever. Are they having trouble right now? I see the community comments that they only bill you when the item ships, as most other companies do. Anybody else having this experience?

I just moved into a place that has two in wall rear speakers, another two behind those in the kitchen and two outdoor speakers on the patio.  Needing help with the setup.  If I have the arc connected to the tv via eARC, does the AMP need to be connected to tv as well or will communicate wirelessly with arc sound bar?   Also, unclear on how to connect the speakers.  Do I need multiple AMPs?   Plan on simply playing content from tv in living room and kitchen and  occasionally on the patio.  There are volume controls on the wall for kitchen and patio.  Thanks. 

Hello, I am looking to buy my husband a system for Christmas but need some help picking out the pieces needed. We currently have two mounted outdoor speakers and a sound bar by two different brands and I want to replace them with a sonos system. I want the speakers and sound bar to be able to connect to one another and play the same tunes. I was planning on ordering the outdoor speaker pair and the multi room entertainment set with Arc and Move. Will all that work together as I expect? Is there anything else I need? Or is there a better product for my needs? thanks! 

I have a spare Playbar, if I give it to my daughter to connect to her TV, will she need an amp or some sort of base station for it, or will it work on its own? 

Hey.  really keen on creating a surround sound system on my tv. Currently we just use the tv speakers but have a pair of stereo One SLs behind the couch. a few questions:  If we added a Beam and connected the ones to it would it make a decent surround sound? could we still use the Ones SLs as a stereo pair for music? will the beam be big enough for the tv? is the beam future proof? I.e when we upgrade the tv to a 55inch, will I soon be wanting the arc?  is it worth the purchase ya think?

It would be great to have a quick toggle button that would either join rear surround speakers for movie watching or separate them out when someone is using the TV for say video games. This would allow  others in the room to listen to music. To do this now takes a ton of steps.   Thanks for consideration!

Hello, The only non-S2 compatible component in my system is connect. I recently upgraded the rest of my speakers. However, I do not see any discount for S2 substitutes  like amp or port when i chek online. Am i wrong assuming I am eligible for discounts? Also, I am from Turkey. Do you post Products there? Regards, 

Can I set up two moves as surround speakers with an Arc?

I have a connect amp with connect wired speakers, what do I need to do in order to add wifi speakers - ac powered

I have a play 5 gen 1 that I bought a while back that wont turn on. Since I cant turn it on, its still connected to the sellers account, which means that I cant reset it. Is it still possible to use the trade up program for me even If I cant turn it on and connect it to my account?

Which combo would give the better sound given they would be the same cost - a move or two ONES (Or a ONE and a ONE SL) - I like loud and EDM.,Appreciating the portability benefits of the move of course. I have a large room to fill - 7x5m with vaulted ceiling. Will get a PLAY 5 eventually but for now which is the better of the two options above please? Can’t seem to find this answer anywhere! Thanks!Also, when I have the play 5, which combo would go best with it then - a move or the two ONES?

Hi,Currently I have 1 x Sonos Play 1 speaker but might be looking to add to that in other rooms.I also have an old CD / Cassette / Radio stereo which is on it’s last legs.Can anyone please tell me if any of the Sonos speakers / products have a BUILT-IN CD player?I don't want to buy loads of kit to play my CDs and if Sonos can’t provide a single bit of equipment I will probably buy something else. I also want it to be as small as possible to fit on a window sill!Any advice gratefully received. Thanks you. 

When wall mounted, the up down buttons are essentially reversed compared to the other units in the house, causing me to skip the wrong way or adjust the volume the wrong way. It would be great to have a setting that allows you to reverse the order.

Please excuse the incredibly nooby question, I’ve just started to make enough money to try and build a decent hi-fi system (edit: sorry I meant home theater).So I recently bought 2 One’s to work as a surround sound set up (as the rear channels). I’ve currently got 2 powered bookshelf and I want to sync it up to the pair of one’s that I just bought. Now I’ve been doing some research but I’m still not a 100% clear if I need the Amp or the Port. From what I understand the Amp is necessary for passive speakers and provides surround sound capabilities, whereas Port works with powered speakers but doesn’t(?) support surround sound with the One’s. Rather all it does is add multi-room streaming capabilities. So I just want to clarify whether or not the Port can enable surround and if it can’t, will there be a problem using the amp with my powered speakers?Bonus question: Currently my 2 powered speakers are connected to my turntable via phono preamp. Assuming I connect amp/port, will I be able

Buying new tv. My old tv always worked in Dolby when sound was straight from tv but not with the PlayStation or virgin media.  I recall finding it it was a problem with that tv so want to avoid it this time .  Any advice on what tv to get ?

Hello I just purchased a Sonos Beam and I am having a hard time getting it to work with my Samsung Frame TV.  I used my own HDMI cable as the one provided wasnt long enough to fish through the wall to hide. So i have the hdmi cable plugged into the soundbar and into the HDMI ARC port on the connect box.  But on the app, it says that no HDMI ARC is detected.  I tried unplugging and plugging both the Sonos Beam and my TV and it still wont work. Whats weird is that if i play around with the volume on the app, the sound will play on the beam but will cut out after a few seconds and wont come on until I play with the volume again. Is there a work around or a trick to make this work?  I feel like its just not compatible and may have to return the beam but it just sucks cus of all the hard work I did to fish the cables through the walls. Please help!  Thanks!!   

My home has built in home-theater wiring already installed. Is it possible to power a Sonos SL using the pre-existing in-wall speaker wiring? This would enable me to mount the speaker on the wall without a power outlet close-by.
