What to get

I want to buy rear speakers and ideally want to buy two move speakers to do this. The move looks to be a brilliant around the home speaker, but too large to take away with me. I have a big patio so two move speakers outside occasionally when we get good weather in the UK would be brilliant. I want to spend more money than Sonos one’s and want to know whether this will work. If not how do we petition to get a software update to make Move’s work in a surround set up?

Would love to order another speaker, but your website won't recognise my (very ordinary, regular, used a millions times before) post code. Tried for a while using various options so now given up.

Please help! I am using VLC on the Apple TV (HDMI to a projector) to play local video files for a film screening but the Sonos One stereo pair I created won't play sound. The 'room' appears as an output option in the Audio settings of the Apple TV but when I select it (instead of the HDMI) I get no sound. I've tried leaving the HDMI option selected (you can set both) but still nothing. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sonos just announced three (3) new products namely the Move and One SL speakers; as well as the Port the successor to the Connect. I’m not going to talk about how great the new products are as you can read that for yourself. However, some may be saying to themselves…"Wow those are great additions to the Sonos line-up; but I already have Sonos speakers and/or a Connect so I can’t justify the additional purchase". Well here’s something that may just ease the pain (and your conscience) to make that buying decision and that is to Up-Trade. Up-Trading is taking an existing Sonos product and using it to offset the cost of the Sonos product you’d like to own. I’ve done it twice since the introduction of the Sonos Move and Port. We're doing a major home reno and want to upgrade to Sonos for music and TV sound. Currently my music is coming off iTunes on a Windows PC via an Apple Airport (I know, I know) to my old component system. We just use big TV built-in speakers. We're not big special-effects-movie people so we're probably going to go with a Beam rather an a Surround Sound setup for living room. So I have questions. 1) I'm one of those guys with 80 gigs of music on his computer, and I'd still rather play from the PC -- and use my years of iTunes playlists -- to play through the Sonos. Can I do that? 2) Should I get another Beam for music in the kitchen or do I need to go to separate standalone Sonos speakers? Advantages?

Hi all, i currently live in a 6 story apartment with an open floor concept (living room, kitchen and dining room combined). i have a beam attached to the tv with 2 Sonos Ones for surround sound. I just bought a Play 5 for the kitchen. My question: Would the Play 5 give enough sound quality and separation in the space or should I just get another Sonos One for the kitchen. I’ve provided photos for a point of reference.

Hi, I am considering to make the move over to a wireless sound eco system. To start of: a HEOS is also still in the race, altough I lean towards Sonos for esthetic point of view: so pretty! Our house is not to big, but i would like to get as close as possible to an "immersive sound experience" wich means (for me): more or less the same sound experience all across the room. Sound quality is more important than maximum volume (but I would like to have some punch in the setup when having a small party/get together). Detail and well balanced sound is most important. I'm not really interested in the smart features with voice control etc. For TV sound there would probably also be a beam involved. See drawings below for the setup... I have a Denon AVR-X4300H with 5 Klipsche speakers hooked up for 5.1 surround sound in my living room. I'm using sonos thru out my house to control both wired in ceiling speakers with amp and wireless play 1 speakers. I use the sonos app to control all of these except for the home theater setup. I would like to use the sonos app to control only the two tower speakers of my 5.1 system. I currently have an extra amp could I use it? If not what do I need to do? Thanks

I want to pipe in audio from an external source into my Sonos system, which I can do with a CONNECT using analog in. I want this to play on my Sonos speakers, and I also want to play the music on external speakers, which I can do using the analog out RCA output on the CONNECT. Question: Can I do those both at once on the same CONNECT device? (run in from music source, stream over sonos, and run out to external speakers) THANK YOU!

Hi there, So currently have a beam and 2 x PLAY:1 speakers and essentially want to add a vinyl collection and be able to play it through those speakers. I’ve found the Sony PS-LX310BT which has a built in phono pre amp so I want the most cost effective way of achieving the goal of playing the turntable through the speakers I have and what I need I believe that all I need is the connect to achieve what I want but I’m not sure if there’s anything I’m missing? advice greatly received - thanks in advance for the help!

All - attached is the layout of my kitchen area & family room (~42’x17’). In my family room, I have marked where my Playbar and sub are located. I have also labeled where I intend to put either one’s/symfonisk bookshelf speakers as rears. My question pertains to my kitchen area and what speakers/configuration would be recommended (to compliment family room for when entertaining with music). I have 9 foot ceilings and my cabinets are relatively high but am able to put speakers on-top of them which would slightly be blocked by the molding on the top cabinets. That said, I am looking for a recommendation on the following questions: Should I place One’s above the top cabinets (essentially ceiling height) or mount symphonics underneath top cabinets (essentially counter height)? Hi Folks, I'm a real novice on AV but I've done some reading ... About to get my first Sonos and multi-room audio in a new house. The home has a dedicated Home Theatre room and one (future two) other place(s) with 75" Sony TVs . My question concerns what Sonos equipment and speaker configurations of Sonos and existing acoustic-speakers and new loud speakers I should plan to achieve my goals. I suggest below the equipment and configurations I think would meet my goals. Do you agree and what Sonos products do I need? My goals are: Main goal is very good 5.2.2 surround sound for sports and movies in my small-medium sized HT room; [5.2.2 = 3+2subs+2Atmos] Next good to very good [but not elite] music/audio elsewhere in the home; Good 5.1 surround sound in (eventually) two other locations (in Bedroom and in Living Area). I have a 66 in TV mounted in the corner of my basement. The basement is about 500 sq. ft. It's more narrow than wide. I'm not sure if I should get a beam, playbar, or playbase for the basement. We do entertain a lot. Fights, football, etc. Because the basement is narrow I'm not sure how I want to have the speakers layout. Any suggestions would help out tremendously

I bought into Sonos earlier this year (in April) and been wanting to extend my system into other rooms. I've been looking at additional Sonos One's, maybe Play1's and even considering the IKEA Bookshelf speakers. Last night I came across some Sonos Play 3's for $229 each. That's only a little more than a Sonos One. The Play 3's were already discontinued before I got into Sonos so i do not know anything about them. Is that a good price and are they still a good buy considering their age and that they are discontinued. Your thoughts?

Good Morning, Firstly I would like to say I have 0 experience in home audio systems and recently moved into a house with an existing setup. I'm looking to convert the system to sonos so that I can add more speakers and control different zones. The house currently has 10 in wall speakers wired to an onkyo tx-rz630 reciever. None of these are used for a home theater. They are all strictly background music. I can stream through the onkyo from my phone but all the speakers play at once.I would like to be able to have 3 different zones as follows zone 1- 6 speakers zone 2- 2 speakers zone 3- 2 speakers So I guess my question is which sonos products would I need to buy in order to make this happen. Also how easy is it to set up with this existing system. The onkyo is not plugged into a TV so trying to work on it has been a nightmare. Thank you in advance for your help

I have an outdoor TV that is being installed in a covered patio. There are existing ceiling speakers that I have run down to a connect:amp. I am trying to figure out how to get sound from the tv into these speakers. I don’t think that a beam would hold up well to the humidity, though this area should be away from any direct weather. Building a new home, I have begun to run speaker wire throughout the main floor. I have bought three Sonos Amps, four Polk V80s, two Polk V85s (living room, kitchen/dining), and six Polk RC80is (patio, bath, bedroom). 12 speakers total, 4 speakers per amp/zone and one Play1... The blue circles below represent where I plan to install speakers (10 speakers out of 12). My question is where to place the last two speakers. I have four red circles as possibilities, a pair for the laundry/mud to tie into the master bedroom/bath zone. Or add another pair to the kitchen/dining zone (living room is it's own zone). The covered deck will tie into the remaining zone I don't choose. My main concern is not having enough speakers in the kitchen/dining area with just the two in-ceilings. I could throw the Play1 on the kitchen counter to add to it if needed. We will spend a lot of time in the dining/kitchen and obviously not so much in the mud/laundry, so I am leaning adding the two extra speakers the

Can the NEW Sonos AMP drive the KEFR300 120watts at 8ohm speakers? i am curious because the specs say 125 watts per channel at 8 ohm so in theory it could work. I am sure anyone here can let me know if it is a go or no go according to you guys. Its a nice price point for a D-Amp at 125w per channel but i guess that that is Peak levels. In real life this would be something close to 70-90 watts i guess? I understand the R300’s are not easy to drive. looking forward to your opinions on this one. Cheers

I have an existing receiver powering in wall and in ceiling speakers. I am building an out door kitchen and so want to hook up some speakers outside and have them wirelessly connect to the my Denon receiver. Denon does have a solution for this but want to use Sonos. The goal being to play something through the receiver and have it output to all speakers at once. How would I go about doing this? Sonos connect to the receiver and sonos amp to wired speakers outside?
