Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

OK, I am sure I’m like thousands of you, absolutely useless now with all of my Sonos speakers, since this garbage app won’t allow me to do ANYTHING!!!! When will you guys update this POS?!?!?!?!?! All I get is this repetitive cycle of “sign in an owner, and update” or something along those bulls**t lines!!!! I can’t believe Sonos would roll out a app that had so many bugs, then, then you make us sit on hold for now, going on 1.2 hours (still on hold listening to your super elevator music, since that the only place i can actually hear music), after I called right when you customer service lines opened this morning, and it said current hold time was 15 minutes- just terrible customer service. So when is this going to be fixed, or am I going to have to sell all 8 speakers and go back to Bose or some other company that can actually make a realistic fix with their app to truly help support their customers!?!?!!?
Hello all. User of Sonos products for over 10 years. Big fan. Is anyone having problems with unreliability of new app? My experience is that it is unreliable, does not show all content, music being played is not shown? Sometimes it all works…sometimes it does not. I am grateful I did not upgrade on my iPhone. Or Mac….hiwever I did hear Mac support is going away….another topic. Thanks everyone.
Have a large system and the new app is a mess, couldn’t ad a new roam. So i do the chat thing and they couldn’t help me . Told me to call for advance technical assistance. Heres the problem. They re all foreigners and i can’t understand any of them. 10 years ago when i had a problem i got a English first language person who knew something. Now its just generic responses and no solutions. The new app is so terrible
Here’s a possibly dumb question, but I don’t like surprises so I thought I’d ask. We’re moving to a new house in a few months. In the new house, I will set up the same WiFi we have in our current house. I’m just going to unplug the WiFi router in our current house, and plug it in at the new house.I’m wondering if moving my Sonos system will be as simple as unplugging all our speakers in our current house, and plugging them all in at the new house. Since the speakers will find the same WiFi present, I’m thinking everything will just work. But, I’m not exactly sure I understand where my system configuration information is stored. I think I understand the speakers form a distributed system and I assume full system configuration is stored in each speaker. I assume any changes I make to the system are synchronized from speaker to speaker until all have the latest change. But, in order for the configuration to persist during power outages, etc, the speakers would have to have something like t
How to make the Sonos player appear in the control center on Android as before in the previous app, notifications have already been activated from the Sonos app and in the app settings and nothing more; I have to enter the application to be able to control the playback again
I have music showing it’s playing and when I check the box to shut it off nothing happens ?? I have music playing in 5 rooms so I have to put volume to zero. It won’t cancel out the rooms! The new app sucks ! I have written to Sonos and the reply is horrible ! Very disappointed in the new app.
Does not appear there was any competent debugging/beta testing of the new app prior to launch Bring back old app while Sonos debugs the new app
Why would anyone even consider buying a new Sonos product or expanding an existing system given your obvious disregard for your customer. I purposely did not upgrade the S2 app so I would not lose functionality only to find it updated automatically and removed access to my music library. Your headphones look interesting…would I buy them? No way!
Just looking for confirmation that the intended upgrade to connect the Sonos Ace to a Beam will be a software download and not require a new headset.
I just installed the new iOS app. Wow it’s confusing which one would expect if a new upgrade. Problems:A playlist is playing however when I look in the Queue it is not the same playlist. It is the previous one or it says can’t load. The play/pause control on the current playing song view doesn’t work although it is present. You have to go to the ‘Your System’ view to control the sound and play. Weird. Speaker control not working
Does a Sonance Garden series subwoofer needs to be buried underground or will it work just fine above ground? Thank you
REMOVED THE ALARM FUNCTION https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/set-an-alarm-on-sonoswhat do you all think?
So spent thousands of dollars on sonos equipment and selling it to hundreds of customers and now it’s worthless. Thinking about moving to Wiim now. This is absolutely the stupidest move Sonos could have ever made. Release a BETA app and expect their userbase to test and report on it? What the F? Go back to the old app - everything worked great! I have thousands of tracks on a local music library that I can no longer access because this stupid worthless app doesn’t have any library functionality. I also have many customers who have invested in NAS drives and paid thousands to send out and rip their CD collections only to not be able to access or use them now. Our church is using a local music library for their youth group and we can no longer play the tracks through sonos now thanks to this POS app. I really DON’T CARE that the feature will be out in June or whenever the planned roadmap is… if the software isn’t ready don’t roll the f’ing thing out! What are you thinking? I hope
New Sonos app is clunky and not very intuitive. Horrible interface.
Since the failed update, my Arc and Sub Mini disconnected and I was not able to sync them again, not even factory resetting both and trying to add everything back from scratch. Today, I disabled the password security on my router leaving the WiFi open. Reset the Arc and Sub Mini, register the devices in the app and they connected. Leaving WiFi with no authentication method is not advised, but I’m not too concerned about it at this time until Sonos cares to fix the mess that they did. Just putting this workaround out there, hope this helps someone.
Dear Sonos, Please revert back to the previous OS. This update is shocking and not an improvement at all! The functionality of the app has gone and my favourite function, the alarms, are gone! This is extremely frustrating as I have alarms set for every day and currently they are still coming on and I can’t change them without unplugging my speakers! What a joke. You have not only made the app difficult to use, when there was nothing wrong with the previous version, but you’ve also managed to not allow your customers to decide whether or not they want to switch to the new OS or keep the classic OS. This should be an option, without question! Please bring back the option to revert back to the original OS immediately! Thanks
I cannot TRUST Sonos anymore. After latest software downgrades (they are the opposite of upgrades) I cannot access my Music Library from the app on my phone. Music Library disappeared from the controller on my Mac. Spent 3 hours with a Sonos engineer (after spending 2 hours getting someone to talk with) to get a work around. I just don't have the time for this and have decided to move on from Sonos. Who can suggest a brand that offers the same functionality but is trustworthy?I used to think Sonos was the best in class. Spend €000’s on 9 piece system over 2 houses. Will write that off. But even worse, I recommended Sonos to friends and family. How embarrassing that now seems.Totally let down. Software releases absolutely value destroying. If I owned the stock, I would sell/short.
The new app wont allow consecutive play of an album or top songs from an artist from Amazon. Only plays one song at a time then done. Old app would play entire album. Only a "station" plays without stopping. This new app is frustrating to navigate. Please go back to old app.
But the “why now” was because it’s actually much easier to navigate, more responsive, and just a better overall experience, and that is the thing for the 99 percent of customers that you’re never going to hear from as you go through it. https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/22/24162168/sonos-ceo-patrick-spence-new-app-design-interview^That’s Sonos CEO Patrick Spence explaining why the new app was released. So apparently all of us complainers represent just 1% of customers! 😏Doubling-down on this inane “there are only like three people having problems with the new app” tripe is just plain stupid. Let’s say I believe that my use case—listening to local library music—is completely out of the ordinary; that tells me that Sonos is going to leave me further and further behind on a forward-going basis. In other words, it strongly incentives me to search for alternatives that WILL support my use case.On the off chance that someone from Sonos reads this, here are a few sincere suggestions:In additio
If a company takes away all the functionality that u use, making all you speakers useless, is that fraud?I’m beginning to think Sonos is guilty of fraud.
I say lets all get together and file a law suit against Sonos for deceptive trade, they dont give what they sell you.
Hello, I have downloaded new Sonos app and I cannot find my library which is connected through Spotify. Can someone assist please?
Was the Sonos 2 app created by a competitor trying to ruin the business? If so they have done a good job.Poor functionality, terrible user experience, its quite unbelievable in this day and age that a piece of software this bad has been launched. If the idea is to make us all buy new sonos products - DREAM ON.
Reading the Verge article with the Sonos CEO- he states But the “why now” was because it’s actually much easier to navigate, more responsive, and just a better overall experience, and that is the thing for the 99 percent of customers that you’re never going to hear from as you go through it. I have zero idea what he is using this app is clunky, slow, and everything is greyed out. Sometimes after a few minutes the album cover will appear I guess. Can anyone list the ways that this app is easier to use? I would legitimately like to know. I am in the 1% of crazy’s that the CEO thinks are unable to appreciate this work of artistry.
Hi. Called Sonos support today and they were no help.Problem is that the Update bricked all my Sonos devices. They are connected to wifi. New Move only works by Airplay Sound starts and stopped erratically What do I do?
