OK, I am sure I’m like thousands of you, absolutely useless now with all of my Sonos speakers, since this garbage app won’t allow me to do ANYTHING!!!! When will you guys update this POS?!?!?!?!?! All I get is this repetitive cycle of “sign in an owner, and update” or something along those bulls**t lines!!!! I can’t believe Sonos would roll out a app that had so many bugs, then, then you make us sit on hold for now, going on 1.2 hours (still on hold listening to your super elevator music, since that the only place i can actually hear music), after I called right when you customer service lines opened this morning, and it said current hold time was 15 minutes- just terrible customer service. So when is this going to be fixed, or am I going to have to sell all 8 speakers and go back to Bose or some other company that can actually make a realistic fix with their app to truly help support their customers!?!?!!?

It is all their apps. Even the desktop app. I know most people use ios devices but those of us that use android, last year they took away the ability to play music stored on the phone. they said to do that we have to upload everything to youtube and play it that way….. unreal

Terrible product and customer service.

Are ya'll having financial problems and sticking us with a Terrible product?

how does one even get the app on the mac now- this is a horrible launch for them and assume maybe the company got bought or bean counters ruining it. but than only thing pops up is buy headphones are they on crack… buy something that does not work and did before they messed it up.   sad another tech company gone mad.

any advice how to even find the desktop ap to load on a mac?   thanks.   i do use an andriod phone and it works but was a nightmare getting all set up and the new app works poorly -

Why is there no response to this from the company?  Why don’t they make an announcement?

Suggest they start with “we are sorry” - end with “it will be fixed by…..”

Cannot believe how poor this experience is!  0/100.

We’re all in the same boat! This is insane!!!

Have you not read this FAQ article?

My understanding is that the FAQ article will be updated as needed.

Or seen the release notes here?

Or the article on the Verge (sorry, no link) that the CEO talked about this?

None of the apps on all 5 of my devices will ope or recognise my Sonos system.

Everything including my, very expensive Sonos hardware is useable!!

class action lawsuit - is there one yet or how does one start one.   This is insane all they have to do is go back to the old software.   but how can they sell everyone a working item than just turn it off and be like done too bad so sad.  Than simply not reply.  -

Is there a law suit being started. Not my thing but in this case seems it might be the only way to push them.

Over all just sad per such a great project they built and Bam all in the weeds now and gone.  Will never trust them again with any purchase.  I laugh when the only thing the app does do is keep trying to sell me those stupid headphones and other crap.

It would be impossible for Sonos to reply to the flood of folk complaining about the new app, its missing features, the bugs in the app, etc. There are simply too many posts.

Instead, they’ve issued a release schedule for some of the missing features.

It may not be the best way, but at least they have responded in a small way. Until now, release dates and content have not been advance-notified.

So far the updates have been on time and seem to have addressed what was promised.

So: they have replied, and they are working to deliver missing features. They’ve already said why roll-back is not an option. Unfortunately these things are getting lost in the flood.

It’s not an ideal situation, but you have alternative options. A number of non-Sonos controllers are available. But I’d be very surprised if a legal action were to be an effective option. Good luck though, if you do pursue that option.

How does one start one?  You consult a lawyer, and if the case has merit, the lawyer will take the case.  So far, it appears nobody has done step one, never mid step two (just like every other idle threat of a lawsuit ever put forth in this forum).

It’s a good thing for Sonos that in the thousands of users, not a single lawyer exists to take the case. Or, maybe there are but they realise there’s no chance of winning the case?

AirMusic is not an alternative when I cant register my Play 1 on the internet since the new Sonos 1 &  2 app updates.

Maybe we play the game they are playing us… buy the damn headphones than return them and say the app does not work… so all of the headphones come useless returned items. much like the Sonos speakers we currently have.    How foolish to try to launch a product when they have the worse damage control ever since the company launched.  I am assuming the CEO will be gone within the year.

for me this is a much larger threat to society than just Sonos speakers. but have you noticed almost all apps and social media outlets the products have more bugs and half ass workarounds than before.  It seems the entire tech world is collapsing.  Maybe they are testing to see if Ai can truly dumb down the population to being unable to be literate and we are part of the lab rats.

Just saying I am not afraid of tech or change but things are not moving well for the future.

Absolutely!

Trashing their headphones is a idea!!!
