I am a Sonos dealer with 100’s of installations active in my local community. The recent update and lack of functionality of various basic features has been difficult to explain to my clients and put my firm in an awkward position going forward. I have not only sold and recommended the sonos platform for the last 15 years, I have also personally used it in my home. I now am considering other options for new installations and feel some hesitation to continue recommending your product. My questions are-1: why can’t we go back to the old app?2: volume slider does not respond well, when will this be fixed?3: my clients are experiencing Spotify playlist issues, the playlists randomly stop and return the the first song in Spotify. Is this a widely known issue and if so, when will it be resolved?4: how do I transfer system ownership to a new client after setting up a system?5: Digital out for Sonos Port - We have Sonos installations out in the field where we are using the digital output from
No integration with my Sonos system !!!!!!!We’ve all been waiting for headphones we can add to our Sonos systems like any other Sonos speaker product. These new Ace headphones are just fancy bluetooth headphones - no better than Sony or Bose.First the app upgrade disaster and now headphones that won’t work as part of an existing Sonos system.Ridiculous! It’s a “no purchase” from me!
So it has been about two days since the launch of the new Sonos app. Judging by the number of negative posts on this community forum and on the Sonos subreddit, I think it is pretty safe to say that the app launch has been a pretty massive failure. This is a very critical moment for Sonos. The Sonos app is the core of their ecosystem. I can imagine tensions are running high at the Sonos headquarters as they try to figure out what went wrong and how they need to respond. A moment like this can sometimes be the beginning of the end for a company and Sonos knows this.Consumer trust is the most important thing a company needs to remain successful and to grow. Sonos dropped the ball with the new app and has lost the trust of many new and loyal customers. And the timing cannot be any worse with the upcoming release of their new headphones. So what does Sonos need to do next? What kind of response would ease your anger and frustrations? How much time are you willing to give Sonos to bring back
I noticed this morning that Sonos had released a new update to the app but decided I would read through the release notes prior to installing since the last update burned us all. What I found truly amusing was that the provided this note when addressing local library connectivity - Improved local library connectivityAre we to imply that they “fixed” what they broke? Or are they simply trying to play semantics and not admit they screwed up?
Why the hell have you done such a poor job? It may looks nicer but definitely doesn’t work as well. I have latest OS updates and it takes much longer to recognise my three Sonos. So bloody annoying, and I was planning to expand with even more Sonos!! Get a proper fix soon this drives me nuts!
Man! I used to absolutely love my Sonos system. I have multiple devices era 300, two arc’s, an amp, bunch of gen 2 play 5s. I loved being able to wake up in the morning to a playlist, a great way to start my day. I didn’t even need to look at the clock, I knew what time it was by the song. I could save and edit my playlists. It was a fracking digital jukebox, what I dreamed of as a kid. NOW? I have phantom alarms. My playlist alarm starts at regular time, then four minutes later another alarm a Sonos chime goes off. Then on the weekends two alarms go off one at 07:20 and one at 08:20. I can’t control these alarms. It is ridiculous. I am glad that Sonos has added back being able to add to queue and end of queue but the alarm is a fracking nightmare. Can’t believe this was not a top priority. I used to love my Sonos system, I recommended Sonos to any music lover I met. Heck! I even bought three speakers for my ninety yo mother! NOW? I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Does anyone else
Does anyone else wanna throw all there Sonos stuff in the trash because the new app sucks so bad????? I’m about to!!!
I gave up on the new Sonos app yesterday and purchased the app called Sonophone. It seems to have stability and functionality that Sonos has jettisoned. Okay to use this app? What are the downsides? Can we ask Sonos to reimburse us for the app purchase price?
Hello all,I wanted to share my experiences after not being able to use my Sonos products for over a month after this horrible update. I believe my problems started after the last Sonos System Update, not necessarily the app (which is horrible). But after spending countless hours and almost throwing in the towel on the whole Sonos product line I’ve invested heavily into over the last several years, I finally have a stable system again, although I still hate the new app. Here is my setup:> Playbase with sub and 2 play 1’s for surround. Playbase is wired Ethernet> 3 Connect Amps for daily music streaming, all wired Ethernet> Beam with 2 Play One SL’s for surround, all wireless> 1 standalone One, wirelessAll devices sit behind a UDM ProStarting around last summer, I started to have issues with the Connect Amps sometimes cutting out for a few seconds towards the end of the track. After a lot of research and troubleshooting, turns out it is an S2 software update causing memory
What is going on with Sonos just now!!! Based on this conversation I think I know more about the products than their Tech Support. Are the phone lines better if you can get through and do most problems get resolved?? Any assistance would be appreciated
App sucks, we have 3 roam 2 s and we can't get them to play the same music, each one is different!
I have 20 years of professional networking and software experience- so spare me the “networking issues” bull. You owe it to your customers to not make such a terrible piece of garbage. I spent $500+ on different speakers 3 Fathers Days ago. We have tried numerous times, even upgraded our internet service. None of it works without headache and frustration. It’s not you, it’s not your network’s to it’s Sonos! Next time- I’m spending 1/3 of the price on an Amazon Bluetooth speaker that I could replace 5 times and still not spend what I spent on the Sonos. Hint to the product team (if anyone actually reads these)…. Your customers DONT WANT A Fristrating product or app. They want simple and easy. So just take your dumb non working app and scrap it and just create Bluetooth connectivity only. It will probably save your company thousands of hours on support calls. Regretting this purchase more than anything I’ve bought in 15 years.
Thankfully you can revert to a previous version of Sonos for AndroidFirst, before you uninstall Sonos from your Android make sure auto updates are disabledUninstall the offending appOn the APK Mirror site: https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=sonoschoose a version - I reinstalled v16.1: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sonos-inc/sonos-for-android/sonos-for-android-16-1-release/It immediately found my system including my rooms, services, NAS music library, TV, playlists, stations

Your new ToS or EULA states that you can use my private data within Sonos. How can I set my preferences to not do this? I bought your products without these terms and now I feel as though I have been subject to ransomware… accept this or don’t use your Sonos products. I have invested in your products and do not wish to trash them.
Since downloading the new Sonos my system has not operated efficiently, many long delays, nearly every action. Is this common, and what is Sonos doing about this. I'm not enjoying my system for this reason.
Hi there, apart all the (severe) issues and dropouts caused by the new app (that imho got better after the last update) I started losing at least one system all the time right after I finished reintegrating it. I have in total 15 “rooms”. Then I realized that I simply may have to much devices in one system (in total: 35 loudspeakers ranging from Play 1 to Arc and different Subs). However, I asked myself if every loudspeaker counts as one device: What about Subwoofer (e.g. I have two in one surround system and 4 Minis and one gen3 integrated in Stereo pairs) - do also the loudspeaker in surround sets and Subwoofer in 2.1 sets count as devices? If yes: Is it possible to create two different Sonos systems in one (the same) WiFi Network? Every hint would be helpful and much appreciated - thanks! Django
We have some exciting news that we would like to share with you all! As some of you may know, Deezer entered into a long-term partnership with Sonos earlier this year. Since April, Deezer has made an extensive, curated music catalog available to its streaming radio service Sonos Radio and its subscription service Sonos Radio HD. As most of you might know, Deezer is one of the music services that supports lossless audio in FLAC format (16-bit / 44.1 kHz) by default. No additional subscription is required. Another cool feature I love is “Flow”, as it combines some of your favorite tracks but can also help you find some new hidden gems you've never heard before but are right up your alley! These are just a few of Deezer's features, and you can read more about all the great features here. We wanted to share some exciting developments from this partnership with you. The Deezer and Sonos communities will work together! 🤝 We have some great things in common, users in the communities, so we w
Google is closing Google Podcasts April, 2024. Google suggests moving your podcast subscriptions to You Tube Music. So I did. Now, my podcasts are in my You Tube Music library, and I can play them from there. The podcasts also show up in YTM library on the Sonos app. But the Sonos app can not play them. When I try to play one, the Sonos app balks, and a slide-up message says “Unable to play [name of podcast episode] -the connection to You Tube Music was lost.” Other YTM items - songs, playlists, etc., play through fine. And Sonos plays podcasts which were added to my YTM library from within YTM. Only the podcasts imported from Google Podcasts to my YTM library are affected. I suspect this is a Google problem, although it is unclear why the podcasts play in YTM but not in Sonos. Any insights?
The latest version of Sonos, the part that runs on the handheld controller (iPhone in my case or iPad) is bug-ridden, poorly redesigned and impossible to use without tearing your hair out.Does Sonos have a return program for the $4K in various speakers I have invested in? They are * junk now base on this “SW release” which might better be described as an abomination.Be easier to sell my * on the street than hope that a company that would put out such a poor product would somehow recover.I used to love my Sonos. Hate is a strong word, but I am reacquainting.Someone else must see this as well?*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
where to begin?7 year + Sonos user. SO frustrated with new app. So much more difficult to use. Can I get my S2 back? This is to the point my wife wants me to scrap Sonos for other speakers / system. It is just plain more difficult to operate. And it is frustrating! Right now trying to operate from my PC, and can’t even get speakers to play.Relief in site?? Is it just me?
This new update is so bad I beg to get the old one back that was simple but so much better in every way.
I returned a Sonos Roam in November 2023 to upgrade to a Era 100 instead. My credit card was compromised at the same time, so I had to cancel it. That was my method of payment on the original purchase. Sonos has yet to refund me - It is June 2024… I have requested assitance 6+ times on this and all they say is someone will help me, or talk to my bank… I have even provided new creedit card information twice. I honestly will take a cheque at this point. Awful customer service that is unacceptable from a reputable company. I am posting this to get some action on this. I am at the point where Sonos needs to go above and beyond my refund to keep me as a consumer. I want my refund!! Moderator Note - Removed Case number from post.
Please make the Search function work more like Spotify’s advanced search options (see https://support.spotify.com/us/article/search/).It would also be nice to be able to limit searches to either your music library (maybe source:ml) or multiple sources (source:ml,spotify, amazon) or exclude a source (source:-spotify).To reduce typing maybe have abbreviations for the different options (src for source, art for artist, trk for track, etc.).Allowing keyword searches like this would keep the search interface clean but allow even more advanced search options than we had in the previous version of the Sonos app.
Has anyone had any luck connecting any of your sonos products to your peloton? Thanks in advance for any help ya’ll can provide!
