When Sonos first launched, they were strictly a music product. Frankly, they changed the way a lot of multi-room audio was done back then. Average consumers without any audio experience could start creating "zones" and the coolest thing was the ability to have a different music source in each zone at the same time! Many of us early-adopters jumped on the chance (at the recommendation of SONOS I might add, a feature/benefit they really pitched) to put our CD Collections onto a hard drive or preferably a NAS device. My God I could now listen to all the music I bought on CD in any room individually or grouped together with no lag or delay ... this IS the reason I bought into this eco-system from the beginning and spent lots of $$$ over the years. The surround sound market came years later. Suddenly today the music seems to be secondary, ... I was surprised to see how many people wanted the new headphones for TV and not music. So a new App launches and all of a sudden, this old crowd didn'
we have Samsung smart tv an Sonos soundbar and play 1 speakers. if we get 2 sets of headphones, can we each adjust volume to our preferenc
Anybody read the Verge article https://www.theverge.com/2024/5/22/24162168/sonos-ceo-patrick-spence-new-app-design-interview. How can anyone be as dense and stupid as Spence. Really? Really? Look at the community here. Look at Twitter. Look at reviews on the App Store. This was the most pathetic and disastrous rollout of new software in this history of the planet, and the guy totally doesn’t get it and is spouting fiction and excuses. Un..f...ingbelievable.
All of my six Sonos speakers are compatible with S2 except two of my Play 5 S1’s. Decided I don’t need new Play 5 speakers but would like to replace them with what use to be called Play 3 instead. What is the closest match to the old Play 3.Thank YouJohn
I’m at a different location away from my Sonos products. I tried to open the app and it just says no products found and won’t go further. Do I have to be with my Sonos speakers to open the new app?
Hello, Before buying the Sonos Move 2, I would like to know if can send from an audio software on Mac a quadraphony or 4 independent mono channels to 4 Sonos Move 2?Is it possible or how would it be possible to do this via Wifi or even with the adapter Line In to each of the 4 Sonos Move 2? How?Many thanks,Best,Christophe
I have a beam and two play speakers . 1st Generation. The beam plays TV audio just fine. The Beam and the two speakers will play music, just fine. How do I get the play speaker to play TV audio?
My Mac desktop controller keeps asking to upgrade. I’m refusing given the app debacle and I don’t want to lose a controller that actually works. I am I being overcautious and a desktop upgrade won’t have the same issues, or should I keep refusing for now?
Will a Sonos Arc fit in front of a Sony XR65A8OL OLED TV with the stand at the highest level without blocking the TV screen?
I have a Sonos 5, Tidal, and an Android phone.Pre-update, I could select Tidal>My Collection>Tracks, then I pick a song and it would play that song and every next song without me selecting it. Just like I wanted. Pick it and forget it. Hours of songs on my Sonos 5.Post-update, I could select Tidal>My Collection>Tracks, then I pick a song. Now, it plays that one song and stops. No automatic advance to the next. If I want the next song, I have to select it.I’m sure I haven’t found the correct settings to make it work like pre-Update. How do I make it work like it did pre-Update? I, humbly, thank you for your help. Oz
Hello everyoneYesterday I managed to get My Library (the My Music folder on my Windows 10 desktop) to be recognized and connect to the new app. Today it seems to be working well on all my speakers and using Desktop and Android phones to control. It could be something Sonos has done. Not sure. I added Sonos as an authorized sharer of the My Music folder in Windows. That hadn’t worked in the past but did yesterday. Prior to that I had no access to My Library and the work around suggested by Customer Support didn’t work. My next priority is being able to edit the queues.Lets see what happens.
Updated app is horrible. Why change something that works? Disappointed in Sonos for this move. Time to move on of things don’t change
I have an amp and my backyard speakers connected to it. They are the type that spike into the ground and I also have the backyard sub. All of a sudden, I get really low volume on the speakers and a ton of base. Any idea what could be causing ? In Spotify I have the volume fully up Moderator Note - Recorded and removed diagnostics from post.
My problem is the reverse from the original question in the Sonos community that I found while trying to research the issue, “I can play to my neighbour's Sonos system via Airplay but I'm not on their wifi - should I be able to do this?”My neighbor deliberately connected his speakers to my Sonos and he is also able to play my own iPad music through his speakers. If try to play my own music on my iPad and if he has his system turned on, my music will blast out loudly through his system. He can turn the volume up or down and can turn off My Music on my iPad. One day a couple of months ago, he took his laptop into the kitchen (directly above my kitchen) while I was listening to music on my Sonos in the living room. He was tapping keys for several minutes. It was then, a few days later, that problems began for me with my own music. I first had cheap Bluetooth sleep headphones and one night all of a sudden, the music that I was listening to on my iPad was turned up very loudly in my ears b
Muy malo el nuevo sistema Sonos App deseo que le pongan fin a todos los cambios de criterios para escuchar música. La nueva app es muy lenta y no me permite poner música a continuación. Tienen que rodar cabezas con lo hecho. no cambien las App s. !!! Moderator Note - Translation by Google:The new Sonos App system is very bad. I wish they would put an end to all changes in criteria for listening to music. The new app is very slow and doesn't allow me to play music next.Heads have to roll with what has been done.do not change the Apps. !!!
I used SONOS two days ago. Suddenly it says it can’t find either of my speakers on my WiFi system. WTH?
HelloI know many are disappointed that the coming Sonos Ace headphones will not act as a “room’ in the Sonos ecosystem. However, there is a plausible explanation that may apply to a limited number of Sonos users. More on that later (see Side Note). Also at launch the Ace headset will only receive TV audio (no music audio) from an Arc soundbar to be followed by the Beam (Gen 1&2) and possibly the Ray. But perhaps the biggest disappointment is that they are Bluetooth for everything else audio (or could they be more later on) 🤔Sonos may have a plan that will make the Ace more promising in the future through the incorporation of the Bluetooth 5.4. codec. Bluetooth of any sort is considered a short range connection. However Bluetooth 5.4 would appear to open up new possibilities such as:Bi-directional Communication * Improved lockout of outside interference which causes signal loss Increased data security Longer range/penetration for a more stable connection **I have included a few lin
i need to vocalize myself regarding then new sonos app. I like it, I accept it and I feel hope for the webapp, that indicate modernization for the desktop app. But, when the app was push onto me, I accepted the change as it gave me hope there was a reason for…and that reason would be the Sonos Ace headphones. Now, I am left confused and a bit unsettled. The app did not seem to have anything to do, and will not have anything to do with Ace. What is the point of modernizing the controller for the eco system, if it is not an eco-system. I wanted to enjoy the app as main player for my music, but now this seems to be instead some classical corporate silo thinking. What is going on!?
10 years+ user, Beam, 2x S5, 3 x S1 and two Symfonisk lamps. So, after 15 minutes of looking, I still cannot get music playing in my office. Also getting mysterious ‘Unable to Load - Some Information is missing from this content’ message. There is nothing there I can act on …. WTF The new App seems set up to follow the steps of some hypothetical user, not an actual Sonos user.Honestly, until this gets clearer, I can no longer recommend Sonos products.
How to downgrade to the last working verion? The new one is obviously still a BETA 0.001 Version
Can someone explain to me a use case where you would wear headphones but have other music/video on at the same time for you to consume and what the actual benefit would be. Please do it like I am 5 years old.
I haven’t talked to anyone that doesn’t hate the new app. A dozen friends and it’s hatred only. No middle ground. I haven’t gone through this forum, but my main problem is this: I have music playing on “patio” and and when I change music, it ALWAYS plays the new selection on “basement.” It appears to be bc it’s the first alphabetical selection. Unfortunately basement is a playbar that has tv on, so I have to apologize to someone, deselect basement and deselect patio (or any room). Every time. Awful update.
Newb here, so this might be a dumb question. If I buy a heavily used Sonos Amp, will it sound just as good as a brand-new Sonos Amp? Another words, does the Amp wear out over time in terms of the sound quality it provides?
I chose not to update after reading all the bad press. Decided to wait until SONOS would have fixed things. Just now I discovered that the SONOS app on my iPhone had updated ALL BY ITSELF. To me that is unacceptable, it’s a total mess now, can’t play my music library (although that feature was already missing since last week), can’t find my favourite radio stations, alarms etc.. Besides that, it is all totally counter-intuitive. Cannot believe SONOS forces this update on us. This is NOT OK SONOS. Has this happened to others; having update installed without giving permission???
Hi, with all of the fall-out from the new Sonos App Launched on 7th May, I’ve had an idea which would certainly address many people’s concerns regarding the new user interface and problems which people are experiencing regarding accessibility and usability. As Background I’m totally blind and a voiceover screen reader user on IOS, so my main concerns relate to accessibility of the new user interface. Would it be a possibility to have all of the functionality of the new app but with two different user interfaces (contemporary which would be the new redesigned app) and Classic (which would be the old app layout with tabs across the bottom and the same operation as before. In the settings menu, in app preferences the user could select the appropriate interface for them, Contemporary or Classic, and be presented with the app looking and operating in the way they want it. All of the functionality which underpins the new app and the firmwear on each device could be retained and the user coul
