“Hi, I’ve just set up my latest Sonos purchase. I’ve connected a Sonos Ray and two Era 100s. Additionally, I’ve connected a Move 2. When playing them all together, there’s an echo in the voices. Could the Move 2 be adjusted as a sub, or perhaps a different setting for the Move 2? The Ray and the two Era 100s are well aligned in terms of sound.
I'm thinking about buying the Sonos Ace, but I want to know if I can use them directly connected via USB-C to my PC and if they charge at the same time.Currently, I have the Bose 700, and one of the things that frustrates me the most is exactly this, they can't be used while charging.
Hello All,Can anyone assist with identifying the Sonos models in this photo? Much appreciated!
I am building a PC to connect to my TV and Sonos Arc. Currently the earc on the TV is connected directly to the Sonos Arc and I can experience Dolby Atmos on streaming content and XBSX via Dolby Atmos app. Though on XBSX I prefer PCM because there seems to be a delay due to up-mixing - I just want whatever that is encoded on the content to pass through and not be altered. Are the any recommendations for GPU and/or MoBo combo that would allow me to pass through any Spatial Audio?Do audio codecs on motherboard matter if the Arc will be receiving the pass through?Does any GPU / Mobo have an eArc port?
I have numerous sonos speaker all WIFI around house I'm looking to purchase a sound bar of some type and wondered....if I buy sonos firstly can it connect via optical to tv output and secondly if it did would it the connect to other WiFi sonos speakers Note my FIVE is old gen so we have to use S1 APP not sure if that makes difference also Help appreciated
Hi all, please help me get Sonos to work via Amazon Music app for my son 🙏My son has a Play 1 in his room. He has the Sonos app and can play via that but he really wants to be able to cast it via the AM app so he can read song lyrics, also it’s just way better, visually. But no speakers are shpwing up on the AM app at all. He’s logged into my Sonos account, my Amazon Alexa account and his own Amazon Music account (as family member)
Hello everyone. I have an ARC Playbar and 2 “Play 1” Speakers and a Sub and I don’t understand why I can’t output Multi Channel Stereo on my system. For the dev guys at Sonos, here is the logic behind my request. I unplug my speakers and move them through out the house when listening to music. For example, I take my “Left Play 1” outside on my patio, and my “Right Play 1” on the second floor etc. When watching a movie making the most of Dolby Atmos etc, the system is great. For Music, the fact that I can move my speakers around make Sonos the favored brand. I understand I can make a new room, but then would loose the Arc as a speaker in my main room.Maybe my limitation is around the PlayBar, which is not designed to output mono or Stereo? I know a lot of people are requesting Multi Channel Stereo, but I think it comes from the fact that its so great that all the speakers are wireless. Is creating a new room without the PlayBar the way to go here? Thanks for your help.-J
Hello.I have an old music system (record player, cassette and CD player) with passive speakers.*I send photos of the team.I want to be able to play the three players on the Sonos speakers and from Sonos to be able to play on the passive speakers.I want to keep choosingWhat is the best way to do it?I had thought about buying a Sonos amp or buying a connect:amp.Connect the amplifier output of the equipment to the amp and the amp outputs to the passive speakers.Could it be?Would there be problems when listening from the old equipment on the passive speakers from going through two amplifiers? Is there a way to connect the old stereo without going through the old amplifier?Sorry if any questions are stupid, but I'm very new to these topics.
We are building a new house, and I would like to equip the living/dining/kitchen area with Sonos ceiling speakers and Sonos TV audio. I’m new to Sonos equipment, so I’m still learning how this might work. The room measures 31 feet x 30 feet, with a vaulted ceiling that is 9 feet at the walls and 11’-6” at the peak. There will be a lot of hard surfaces -- kitchen counters and cabinets, large glass doors, hard-surface floors with rugs -- so I’m not expecting perfection, just hoping for a decent listening experience. Our goals are to have TV sound come through the ceiling speakers when watching TV programs while working in the kitchen/dining area; have music available through ceiling speakers in the great room area when not watching TV; and have a surround system (or at least a soundbar and sub) in the TV area for dedicated TV viewing. After reading a number of forum posts, I think that a setup along these lines could work:Four wired 8” Sonos Architectural in-ceiling speakers, two above the
This new version of the SONOS app 80.07 has been frustrating! We all agree the earlier version worked and was not broken. Anyway… big surprise this evening - my playlists have just appeared in the app. Was this scheduled upgrade? First time I have seen them on the app since the “upgrade”.
Howdy all: After a firmware update a few weeks ago, my Sonos app would no longer control the ARC/sub volume from my phone. However, the TV was controlling the volume on the ARC/sub, no problem. I started looking around for why this might be, and the Sonos site recommended a reboot. I disconnected the power the ARC/sub to reboot them. The app is now working fine controlling the volume, but now the TV is not able to control the volume. I’ve rebooted the ARC/sub a few times now and the app continues to be the only way to control volume remotely. The buttons on the ARC work fine too. Besides this, the TV remote is working fine for all the rest of the functions. Sony BRAVIA OLED using the eARC HDMI connection. I validated that the Sony TV is set to control connected components. Any thoughts would be appreciated. -Jon
Hi,Hoping to get some advice from the community about the best way to play CD’s in my system as I own some discs which aren’t on streaming services.I have a Beam, sub and 2x play 1’s in a single room. From the research I’ve done, a cd player or turntable must have a built in pre-amp in order to work with sonos, however I dont know what I need to look out for when browsing - dont most cd players have a built in pre-amp?I’ve found a couple options but dont know if they’d work? Im looking for a solution that isnt going to break the bank but sound decent.https://premiumsound.co.uk/product/hifi-separates/cd-players/pro-ject-cd-box-e/?attribute_pa_colour=black&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Pmax&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=2085378&utm_campaign=Pmax17507541004&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=&hsa_acc=9363011116&hsa_cam=17507541004&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_s
Hi. I’m looking to add a turntable to my existing setup, as birthday gift for my wife who is nostalgic for vinyl! From the research I’ve done the world of vinyl seems more complicated (and expensive!) than I imagined. I’m still undecided if the best route is to add to my Sonos system or purchase a standalone turntable and speakers. I currently have a beam, sub and two play ones in the lounge linked to my TV with the two play ones acting as surrounds and a seperate Sonos one in the kitchen. Am I correct that if I buy a turntable and era 100 with line in this will allow me to send music to allmy other speakers? Would the era 100 be sufficient? (I believe the 5 is a better option but adds more expense so was hoping the existing sub etc would assist) TIA
6 x sonos speakers and 1 x connect all completely bricked due to updating the new app. What a complete waste of money. And looking on this site not one comment from Sonos themselves just endless customers reporting bricked systems. I’m bored of turning them off and back on again. In the app they now all show up but zero audio from any speaker. And to think last month I was concerned I couldn’t alter the EQ on some of them. What a complete embarrassment for what I once thought was a brilliant forward thinking company.
I bought a pair of Era 100s for better stereo separation when listening to my Victrola stream in my LR I called the pair Den, and they are physically in LR with the stream. I get better separation than my Beams and their subs G1 and sub-mini (BR) or G2 and sub-G3 (LR). Also, the bass is pretty good, and I can tweak it in the app to almost match a set of speakers from back in the day; so, I don’t see the need to add a 3rd sub to my system just for the 100s I can simply move LR sub-G3 to den and back as desired. The setup was easy. However, remember to add each speaker to your system one at a time, place them, and connect them to power, and add them as you go. This helps the app, and you keep things straight as you go. I had Den and Den2 as Era 100 speakers at this point; with a sticky note with the name of each speaker. The last thing I set up was the Era 100s stereo pair; I sat in my listening position and picked the Era 100 to the left of my position (Den) as left and the app saw den2
System setup:Sonos Beam in Family room, connected to TV Sonos Amp in Living Room, connected to pair of Bose 701 speakersGot a new Amp for Father’s Day, and I set it up and, after the required update, went to play some of my Apple Music playlists through the app…and t every song immediately stops playing. I can play songs using Airplay directly onto the Amp, but not through the app. However, Apple Music still works through the Beam. And both Amazon Music and Sonos Radio work on the Amp; it’s just Apple Music that won’t work.
Hi, I have been having trouble with my Sonos beam gen 2 connecting to WiFi. Every time I try to set it up in the app I can’t make it passed the WiFi setup section. I know I’m entering the right password but it always ends up with an error message after waiting for it to connect for a couple minutes. Thank you in advance for any help.
I downloaded the latest Android update. It found my system on the first try. I usually had to try several times before. The controls seem more responsive. However, when you try to play an album from Idagio, it still will not let you play the complete album like it would do before. This makes the app almost useless with a streaming service that has albums.I am forced to play music from Idagio on my phone and then cast it Sonos. They doesn't always work. Sonos continues to infuriate their loyal customer base. There are multiple people who have Sonos based on my recommendation. I can no longer recommend this to anyone.I tried to leave feedback on the Play Store for the new update. You can no longer rate the app. The rating capability has been turned off. This is still the worse software update on history with no rollback provision. I had found an image of an earlier release and installed that a few months ago and was happy. However, Sonos forced me to upgrade to this disaster, and now I am
Hi everyone, I'm new to Sonos and looking for advice on setting up a multi-room audio system. What are some best practices for optimizing sound quality and connectivity across multiple rooms? Any tips or recommendations for a seamless experience?
This topic is older and might not have the most up to date information. Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject. I’ve searched and tried many things…. most recently - tried this (see below)The TV did not recognize the Sonos Arc. On the App, I can connect and play music, but I am not able to connect the Arc to the TV. I’ve tried unplugging everything for 10 min to reset all the port - nothingDisconnect everything from the TV and unplug the Arc and TV from power for a couple of minutes. Plug everything back in but keep everything disconnected. Make sure Simplink is enabled in the TV settings. Run TV Setup in the Sonos app and follow the app instructions. When the app instructs you, connect the Arc to the TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port (HDMI 2)using the Sonos-supplied HDMI cable. After the Arc has been successfully connected, connect any other devices to the TV.This is quite frustrating. Is there anyway to test the Arc port? I’ve already purchased a new HDMI cabl
I work in a small office with around 8 people sitting in the same room. The space is an old shopfront, so fairly narrow and deep in plan. We are looking to upgrade our speaker system in the office for the volume of music we play to be more equally distributed than if one person is playing from their desk. The Sonos Era 100 seems like a good solution, with two sources of sound instead of one. I know the set of 2 you can buy are meant to be in two separate rooms, but what are peoples experiences using this system, or the Symfonisk for that matter, for similar purposes? Would there be an issue with latency from the speaker further away? If they are used as a stereo pair, does the separating of the channels sound strange when you’re sat closer to one of the speakers? Thankful for any thoughts on this. Thanks.
Hi.love the product, cannot fault the quality of sound, at all.BIG problem. New app. SONOS, WTF?not compatible with mesh networks at all. I had sky Wi-Fi before, slight drag issues, but nothing dramatic. Eero mesh? Doesn’t like it at all.why am I wasting my words? You might actually care for consumers that may consume you, if you do not fix it?end.
My CR200 + Bridge + Five Speakers have been working for the most part reliably for 10+ years…. And only recently I lost connection to a Play 1 and was having trouble reconnecting it back to the SonosNet.Multiple calls to the Help Desk yielded advice and directions that had me end up with my System being placed into Wi-Fi Mode…. which then disabled the CR200…I asked and tried to return everything back to the way it was… but after many calls and hours was told “nothing more could be done”…..Yes… I know “everything” is obsolete and no longer supported… but that never stopped me before. And I do use my Android with S1… but the CR200 is just a great single purpose/easy to access convenience and I would like to resurrect it.I’ve gone through the most of the FAQ’s / Threads on steps to restore what I had. Nothing worked. But then I tried some steps of my own and amazingly everything began to work and my CR200 populated with all my speakers also worked. Yea!That was short lived…. and I lost So
Is anyone else having issues with Amazon Music? All seemed to be working OK until a few days ago, but now it takes forever to connect (loads of something gone wrong errors) and when it finally decides to play a song (they are all in the queue) it plays one or two and gives up.Sometimes browsing works, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s really frustrating.
I still wish the Sonos App would just consistently play music on my selected speakers without dropouts, missing rooms, etc. (you can add all the features you want, but if you can’t play music at all what’s the point?), but once you fix THAT…On an iPad using Stage Manager, if the Sonos App window is at certain heights (such as any hight but full horizontally) the layout of a search item detail sheet is messed up, removing the handle to swipe down to dismiss from view. If you grow the window to full height the handle is there, but some of us would like to use a smaller Sonos window to control things while using other windows horizontally. Here’s a video of the issue and photos are below.Again, please fix the core functionality first, but add this to the list.
