I am trying to figure out a design that will work with primarily using line in for a turntable and music stored locally on my phone (occasional Spotify streaming too). I am new to the Sonos ecosystem and some things are still a bit opaque to me.For Sonos products that offer line in, I see there is the Amp, the Five, or discontinued Connect. I'm not sure what purpose the amp would serve for line-in though, since the Five also offers line in, is cheaper than the amp, AND is a speaker. Here is what I'm thinking for the setup: 1x Five (instead of the Amp), a pair of Ones, and the sub, and have this all be one group. May add a beam for the TV at some point. I'd likely get a $50 stereo mixer and have that go line-in to the Five. Phone with local files, turntable, maybe my DJ mixer, would all be connected to the stereo mixer that goes into the Five.Does that sound like an ideal setup or are there other things that I'm not considering? Listening environment is: Massive downstairs area, with kit
Anyone have an opinion on which setup is best for 50-50 use between tv surround and music: Arc w two Play Ones and the SubOr Beam w two Play Fives and the Sub Thanks!
I know this isn't the first discussion about this, but I'm hoping I can get some fresh ideas. Ever since I purchased Arc I've had vocals pan to the left. TruePlay on/off and about a million placement/angle/seating changes to try and balance this out, to no avail. I know the center portion of the Arc has a tweeter on the left-center position instead of dead center. Is this the issue and as such can't be fixed? I assume this isn't a big issue if you sit far away but I sit around 7.2ft from Arc, can't move back or want to. I will mention that I have two walls in close proximity to the Arc. The left side speaker has a wall to bounce off about 1m closer than the right side. I remember from Beam that could make a difference. I am thinking of getting an extra fridge (regardless) which can act as a reflection surface on the right side, evening things out. Could this fix the entire issue or is it just the weird center tweeter location? is anyone suffering from the same thing? Maybe has a tip h
Hello guys. Good morning/evening wherever you maybe 👍 just want to ask about my sonos app, there’s this written under the TV says stereo pcm? Then checked it on my tv settings all I’ve got is pcm or dolby 2.0. Just want to ask which is better to use? Tried choosing the dolby but it felt like it make my beam louder than pcm but lacking of surrounds. Hope you can help me. Thanks and stay safe 🙏👍
Hi wondering if you can help. I have a Sky Q remote and has always worked the Playbar but tonight something strange has happened. the remote works the volume but only 2-3ft away but any further away it doesn’t respond. the control is not faulty and works perfectly for every feature it’s programmed for so my fault finding is pointing to the bar, has anyone had the fault before or know or a fix? I’ve power cycled the unit but doesn’t make any difference, I’ve also turned the IR off and on through the app. please help cheers
I recently updated my LG webos software version to 03.21.18 and lost the ability to turn volume up or down on my Sonos Arc through the Apple TV 4K remote. Has anyone else had this issue as everything worked perfectly before! Now I can’t vol + / - using the Apple TV 4K remote. Is it a bug in software update, or something else? Any tips appreciated My set-up:TV - [LG] webOS TV OLED65CX5LBSpeaker - Sonos ArcMedia player - Apple TV 4K
When I do a song search while on the Sonos app with Spotify, I will get only a few results and most of the time not the song I am looking for. When I do the same search directly on the Spotify app, I always get many more options and actually will find the exact song. This is the reason I am saying Sonos App SUCKS. After paying big price for the Sonos device, in my mind, this situation should not be happening. (And please do not respond you need to subscribe to Sonos Radio...)
I have two sonos one in stereo configuration, would it be a good idea to complement it with a sonos five? I don't want to buy the sonos sub, so I am considering a sonos five to increase the bass.
We would like to link a security camera to hardwired Sonos speakers. So an alarm can sound through the Sonos speakers when motion is detected through the security camera. Most of the house, including security, is controled via a Control 4 app. Could you please engineer the software to allow for such a scenario to be programmed?
BuonaseraVorrei sostituire le PLAY 1 con IN CEILING per il mio Home teather qualcuno di voi sa se funzionano per avere 5.1 ?Grazie mille
My Sonos Beam connected to Samsung Q80T tv disconnects on average once every 20 minutes. When this happens it reverts back to TV speakers. It will either reconnect again after a few minutes or I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI.I spent an hour on the phone speaking to tech support and sent a number of diagnostic reports immediatly after it happened, but none of the suggestions worked. Has anyone else had this issue? I am wondering if the speaker could be deffective.
Used to love my Sonos System. “Software Upgrades” has now brought me to despair.Only HP can do worse with flood ware. The processor capacity of my original products used to be fine. Now has useless Airplay (I have absolutely no desire for any Apple product) been forced upon my Sonos stuff. It has all been allocated as none worthy of support, by being grouped in S1. I have no desire to talk to or have conversations with the stuff that plays my radio and Tidal. Upon an “upgrade” did I end up with two Android Tablets and two pc CR 200 - no longer worthy of Sonos use!!!The time that I have wasted on getting my two CR200 to reconnect, exceeds by far the time that it took me to build a Rasberry Pie Player that handles 24bit at a far better sound quality. Rasberry players can be set up as syncronized multi room players as well. Please bring some confidence back in my investment in 10 Sonos units.Easter greetings to my fellow S1 Sonos owners from-Hoeg.
Hello everyone! I couldn't find any new topics on the fact that extra channels do not show up in the Sonos Sirius XM integration. I find it very odd that the app on my phone allows me to cast to Google but not to Sonos. Spotify allows me to cast to Sonos. Are they still adding people to the list for this I'm not sure why an integrator is large as Sonos can't get the extra channels added even though they don't have numbers you would think it's pretty easy to do so. If anybody's got a hack let me know I appreciate it.
Hi...is there a visual way to determine a Gen 2 Connect & Amp from a Gen 1? I have heard that the Gen2 has the Pause/Play button on the front rather than the Mute button, but have been unable to verify this….I am looking to buy some Gen2 Connects.
HiWith great enthusiasm I have read the reviews of the Sonos Arc. I am looking for a Dolby Atmos setupthat both sounds good for movies and music and looks good (wife friendly). The reviews suggest that the Sonos Arc + 2x Sonos One + Sonos Sub meets these requirements. The only thing that keeps me from pressing the buy button is my doubts about the dimensions of my living room. The room is not rectangular and low-ceilinged. Below you see the details. Will a Sonos setup be a good solution for me and will Atmos work? I sure hope so.
Hi all,I have bought PLay 3 to use with my PC mainly for video calls and Youtube. Seems like it cannot be used with Youtube that I play a song directly I have to use the app which is pretty useless and old.No idea what to do seems like I have wasted my money.
I have surround sound for my tv so a Sonos sound bar, sub and a pair of Sonos ones, a play 5 and a one in the kitchen but I’m building an extension and want to fit a pair of ceiling speakers for the TV, I don’t want to use it with anything else other than Sonos equipment, so do I need an amp?
I see so many threads here on installing Sonos Amp/Connect Amp inside and run speaker wires outside. Have any one successfully ran this box outside in an outdoor rated enclosure with appropriate heating/cooling ? any suggestions appreciated. I totally get it this box is not outdoor rated for winter especially..but wondering if peeps have found a solution to make it work
Hello everyone. I am looking for some advice on setting up my Sonos Amp in-ceiling speakers and Sonos Beam to effectively have a 5.1 surround sound configuration. The current sound is definitely not optimal. The beam is too soft during one on one conversations/dialog scenes and the ceiling speakers are too loud during action scenes with background audio to hear anything else. I’ve tried adjusting the Surround “TV Volume” but I just can not seem to find an optimal setting for both the Beam and Ceiling speakers to work together. The Sonos amp is connected to four in-ceiling Sonance speakers (two L and two R), and all four are located behind the optimal viewer seating area. I then have a Sonos Beam under the TV with HDMI and may plan is to add a Sonos Sub at a later time. Nothing is wired to Ethernet, and nothing is wired together, just managing it all on the Sonos app. I obviously setup the surrounds one I plugged in the Beam, because that option became available. I’ve also done the True
Hello,I would like to control the volume levels of my two Sonos One SL separately although they are paired. To be more precise, I need one of the Sonos to be louder than the other one (they are placed in 2 different rooms, one needs low level and the one needs a higher volume level). Is this possible ? Currently when I adjust the volume locally on one of the Sonos, it adjusts it on the other one too. Thanks for your help !
Hi,How do I update my first and last name on my account? Thanks.
I know there’s threads of this but it’s blowing me away how any blu rays I buy have DTS audio and the Sonos Arc system doesn’t support it, it’s really mind blowing honestly. There are so many people complaining of this here and elsewhere so obviously it’s not like it’s a minor inconvenience. Is there not any possible way this could be added in the future Sonos? Come on, do it.
I have read several reviews on the Move that Sonos will issue a firmware update that will allow the Move to perform True Play tuning via Bluetooth. Does anyone have knowledge of this update or know if it has already been issued? Thanks in advance for any answers
So I’m currently working on an experience in Chicago open to the public. We need to figure out a system for audio. We would love to work with Sonos. Here's our situation: We have two four-channel amps that each need four playback devices. The amplifiers are wired to existing speakers. Each amp channel needs a playback device. And we want to use Sonos with our system so that we can easily be controlled wirelessly through the app. Do you have suggestions for how to create a Sonos system with our current set up? Do you have playback devices that could work
I am using Amazon Music HD with Sonos S2 and can’t for the life of me figure out how to play a “Station” by an artist. I am looking to pick a band and then have the “Station” play back that artist and a collection of music from similar artists. I have Spotify premium and there is always a choice in S2 for playing a Station when you search for the artist. Is there something I am missing?? I can play stations from artists by doing it through the Amazon Music HD app and using Airplay, but I want to do it natively in the Sonos app….
