Hi, I have the sonos move and in my house I have 3 wifi. Every time i change location i have to reconnect my sonos to the wifi and writing again the password. what is the solution that sonos can change wifi by himself? thanks
Ok after several weeks of this I can shareStart moan. While the idea that ALL iot devices should sit on an iot vlan SONOS resists that to its maximum. The iot vlan only has one basic change over a standard LAN in this instance (was planning on tightening up further later) was that ONLY the HOME network could open connections to the IOT vlan not the other way around. Changing the wifi that Sonos uses is a a REAL PAIN INTHE ASS and you have to allow up to 2 hours per SONOS device to do it. It will require following instruction that do not work, Press and Hold these two buttons until you hear a chime, after 60 seconds no chime, start all over again. Connecting to SONOS wifi - failed move closer to device - ANY CLOSER and I would be INSIDE the SONOS. These games will go one for a few hours - with 7 devices changing the WIFi took two days!!! It should NEVER be this hard. Once completed AIRPLAY & Alexa works great between networks but SONOS stubbornly refuses to work at all for playing
Hello - I have the new Sonos amp and have plugged an spdif switch into the hdmi port via the spdif to hdmi cable and I have a phono preamp plugged in to the rca inputs. I have autoplay turned on for both the line in and for the TV. Based on searches in this community it sounds like the TV will always win out. I think this explains why even when I turn off my phono preamp and back in again and play a record the line in is not auto playing. So, my question is, is there an alternate way to get the line in to play other than many clicks on my iphone to dial up line in (this assumes I didn’t forget my iPhone upstairs)? It would be great if there was someway to do it with a button press on the amp similar to how I can hold the play button to join the most recent speaker already playing. Or, am I missing something with autoplay and is it not behaving as expected? Thanks in advance. Matt
so here we go … I just bought a house and since I sold mine with my equipment (Sony), I’m ready to buy brand new equipment (SONOS). The house comes with ceiling speakers (office, laundry!, master bath, master bedroom, kitchen, living room, outdoor upstairs, outdoor downstairs). It also comes with 7 speakers for the TV area. so … I don’t need to buy any speakers (other than a subwoofer to achieve 7.1). Everything arrives in a utility closet upstairs (TV is downstairs). While I’d like to use WIFI, the house also has cat 5 (or 6, not sure yet I have not moved in just yet) throughout the house. Here’s what I want to achieve -play music in every zone - either same or different music from same or different sources looks like I have 8 zones + the TV) setup the surround sound 7.1 I don’t need the TV to play in other rooms (just surround sound / media room is enough) TV is a smart TV Samsung From what I’ve seen there is an HDMI cable running from the TV area to the utility closet (need to
Long time Sonos user here. I have an old ZP90 (first gen Connect/Port) and slowly it seems like my ZP90 is slowing down or not connecting at all at random times ever since the S1 and S2 platform integration. What i don’t understand is why the latest Connect remains so damn expensive for a “Line out” box. From the outside looking in from a consumers perspective: Though apples to oranges, fundamentally the Play5 and other Sonos products offer similar network/wireless capabilities as they are relatively the same Sonos internal infrastructure and computer proprietary integration, Ethernet ports, Line in, etc. Those products offer much more by being indeed a multi speaker device with drivers that will produce you sound. Great sound at that. The Connect and Port on the other hand is a Sonos enclosed box with a rear I/O panel, and with internals similar to whatever Sonos product lesser in price you want to name off. So Why such the mark up? Our feeling is Sonos somewhat penalizes those wh
Is this possible? If there are ways then what do I need? Thanks.
The new update of the Sonos S1 app keeps nagging me to upgrade to S2 which I can’t do as it breaks my investiment into the Sonos infrastructure Play 5 Gen 1 etc. Can I turn this off? It’s constant nagging irritates the hell out of me and is starting to put me off using my Sonos products. Certainly will stop me buying more…..
I’m having trouble deciding how to add a soundbar to my living room setup. I currently have a Sonos amp driving the 4 ceiling speakers in that room and the tv sound coming through those ceiling speakers. I’m not a fan of the all tv sound coming from the ceiling and would like to add a soundbar. I’m overwhelmed by all the options and looking for anyone that has a similar situation or any advice. There are speaker cables for a left, right, and center channel behind the TV that run to the server closet, but there isn't any room for speakers other than a soundbar. So far I’ve narrowed it down to these solutions.Just get a normal soundbar and leave the Sonos system and TV sound separate. No need for a Sonos soundbar if I’m keeping them separate. Get a Sonos Beam and connect the the 4 ceiling speakers as SR and SL speakers in the Sonos app. I didn’t think the arc would be a good match as its atmos speakers’ sound would be coming from the same area as the ceiling speakers. Does anyone have a
I have 6 Polk Audio RC80i 2-way Premium In-Ceiling 8" that I would like to run off 1 Sonos Amp. Is that possible? It sounds like you can using Sonos’ architectural speakers because they are all identical, but is that possible with 6 identical Polk speakers? Thanks!
Hi. I was thinking about adding a couple of rear speakers to my Beam Soundbar, would a couple of Roam speakers do the job wirelessly. The fact they are battery powered , would make them ideal for temporary placement in my TV room, when watching content that warrants good surround sound, while the rest of the time, they could live in my kitchen and conservatory.?
I need help please. Reaching out to Avantree to fix my problem but getting no help with my new equipment.I have the QN55Q8FNA Samsung Smart TV which has both the digital audio access and the HDMI ARC access as well as Bluetooth and Wi Fi. I have hearing loss, so I purchased the Avantree wireless headphones and the Avantree Orbit transmitter so my wife can hear the audio from the tv speakers or Sonos Beam soundbar whuch we just purchased, at her preferred level and I can hear through the headphones at my preferred level. Until I purchased and added the Sonos Beam Soundbar, I could hear through the Avantree Headphones and my wife could hear the tv speakers simultaneously and she and I could watch tv together. We decided to add the Sonos as an audio improvement over the tv speakers. I’m very disappointed that I can get no help to remedy this! Should I return the orbit and get the Oasis Plus model? What should I do? The Sonos Beam sounds great but I cannot get it and the Orbit to w
Hi all, I am about to purchase a Sonos move , I already have 2 Sonos play 1's connected with a sonos beam grouped in one room.My question is will I be able to use my move seperately and together with my existing Room (as above) when I so wish please ?
I’ve been using a sonos beam with my Q80T for about six months with zero issues. Now out of no where starting a couple days ago, every time I turn on the TV, it’s switched back to using the TV speakers. Things I’ve tried:turning off/on anynet+ unplugging and replugging power to both beam and TV using a different hdmi port and cable factory reset on the TV I’m still able to manually switch audio output to “hdmi receiver” but then if I turn the TV off and on, it’s back on TV speakers. And sometimes it seems like sound isn't even coming out of the sound bar when I manually switch to it. it’s incredibly frustrating and I’m not sure what else I can do to fix it.
I am looking for best wireless speakers. A lot of document recommended KEF lsx , klipsch fives and naim muso qb... Why should I buy sonos five?
I tuned in to SomaFM’s Groove Salad streaming channel this morning for the first time in a while and a lengthy ad played through my Sonos system before the music started, mid-song. It wasn’t an ad from SomaFM, they’re an ad-free listener-supported service. I donate to them periodically. Sonos apparently wants money for connecting me to freely available content I’m already paying SomaFM for (through donations), which is infuriating.I switched my connection to SomaFM to go through “Sonos Radio”, back when Sonos introduced their Radio service, because that way I at least got (a single) cover art image for the station, rather than a generic gray square. Previously, I had set up streaming to several of SomaFM’s channels through the Sonos app on my Mac (because Sonos doesn’t allow this functionality on iOS for some reason), by adding the URLs directly. Except, they end up as TuneIn “stations” rather than direct URLs. This is also infuriating - is Sonos really not capable of storing a URL on
My dad has had a sonos system for many years, but his CR200 controller has stopped connecting. It asks him to press buttons on a sonos device to connect, but the CR200 then doesn’t find any devices. He has 3 speakers set up in his bedroom that connect wirelessly to a sonos bridge. The bridge is connected to the router via wired connection. He’s stumped as to why it won’t connect so asked me for help. From what I’ve read online it could be to do with whether the system is using sonosnet or not and needs one component to be wired to the internet. As the bridge is already wired, this doesn’t seem like it’s the problem. On the sonos app on his phone in settings it says sonosnet using channel 6, so I presume this is active as well.If there’s any solution to get it connected, would really appreciate it!
Looking for Italian background music for a dinner party and cannot find any option in World Music/etc.
I apologise if this has been asked before, but I’m new at this sort of stuff.I play my TV through an Apple TV 4th Gen - I connect them with an HDMI cable. The TV speakers are poor, so I’d like to see if I could add a Sonos 1 SL to improve the sound quality - my grandson has Sonos 1s and they are very impressive. If it works, I’d then get a second Sonos 1 for a stereo effect. My question is - will this work? I imagine the sound would have to get from the ATV to the Soos 1 by wireless - is that possible? Can the ATV broadcast wireless signals - obviously I know it receives them, but I’m not sure if it can send them to the Sonos. Can anybody help Thanks
I’ve got 2 Play 1’s as surrounds with Arc . Will they play high res audio when I output full Music playback? Thanks
What is the max band width on the hdmi cable that comes with the arc. Do I need to buy say an 8k type cable?
I used my 30% upgrade to purchase a White Sub to go with my 2xFives and Beam. It says it’s on backorder and it doesn't have estimated ship date, in fact they haven’t even charged my card yet. However, when I add a white sub to my cart without my 30% upgrade discount it shows the sub as in-stock ready to ship.Any idea why?I feel like refunding it, save my 30% upgrade for later and rebuying it at full price.
I know this has been posted multiple times in various scenarios.I bought this setup just under a month ago, the Arc TV, the Sub and a pair of One SL’s.I have a wired connection to the Arc, but the Sub and One SL’s are wireless. I believe the Arc is acting wireless as well. The TV is an LG 60UJ6300-UA 60” 4K and it has a standard ARC HDMI port which I know may not support the bandwidth for Atmos. The network is run off of an ASUS AX-88U 5G network in an apartment and seems to have a strong signal, though I am considering trying a Boost to see if it is interference. The cut outs are fast, and can vary sometimes it is one or two cutouts, sometimes it is consistent and I have to turn everything off for it to stop. It almost seems like a sync issue where everything drops and then re synchronizes and starts again. I have changed the HDMI cable, changed the WiFi from 5G to 2.4G and back and changed to wired for Arc, tried adding a delay, and tried re-registering everything. Turning off CEC (
I have a question regarding the current situation regarding multi-channel LPCM with the Sonos Arc and the broken down-mixing from 4 to 2 surround channels. I know there's supposed to be a fix coming, but I've seen it again and again that such promises have been broken (not talking about Sonos, but tech companies in general). Also, a fix has been promised for four months now, and the longer it takes, the more likely it is that it will never be fixed – it’s apparently not so easy to fix.So I want to know what I'm getting into before buying the Arc + 2 One SLs as surrounds.I use an Apple TV, an Xbox Series X and soon a PS5 with an LG GX (eARC-capable). With consoles, I'd like to use 5.1 LPCM. With the Apple TV, everything should be output as what it is (Atmos as Atmos, 7.1 as 7.1, 5.1 as 5.1, 2.0 as 2.0), but I don't care if as bitstream or as LPCM.The question is: will the broken mix-down affect me with my setup? Can I set the consoles to output 5.1 LPCM and the Sonos Arc will play the si
HiI have a Sonos beam and last week after no problems at all I realised I was only receiving Stereo PCM when I was receiving Dolby 2.0 or 5.1 depending on the app or program etc. I have fiddled around with the settings and it will let me change from stereo to multichannel bypass but I have to do this manually every time I turn the TV on. Very strange as I never had to do this previously. Any help or advice would be really great! Thanks Michael
Hi, we are moving and the new home lends itself to the in-ceiling speakers for home theater. right now, i have sonos play bar and sonos play:1’s as back speakers. How would i connect the playbar and amp together for the sound. Also, could i put the amp in another room and connect to playbar? i am thinking of putting in room where the cabling runs will terminate.
