Completely revamping my home theater, formerly wired 7.1 Klipsch to Denon AVR- S730H supporting a 55” non-Atmos Samsung. Looking to go smaller and (as much as possible) wireless (minimal wired connections going back to a central location) --- and definitely want to go Atmos (at least 5.1.2, but optimally 7.2.4 or 9.2.4, with Atmos channels firing up rather than emanating from ceiling speakers or true height channels).So, do I even actually need a receiver at this point? If I were to upgrade to a 2019 or 2020 65” OLED/Atmos LG with a single Blu-Ray player, do I even need a receiver? Or can I just go full Sonos with the TV as the Atmos processor for itself and the Blu-Ray player? I’m currently looking to begin my outdoor landscaping project and that comes with installing my outdoor speakers. There is no doubt these speakers will tie in to my home system as it currently has 9 amps. 2 arcs, and a port powering various different areas throughout my home. That being said I am tossed up and quite frankly not educated enough to make the right decision. Best Buy is currently packaging and selling the Sonance MAG series with an Amp at some pretty great prices. My confusion comes with the pricing. To the naked eye, the Mag 4.1 system and amp is $2,700 while the 6.1 system is $1,500. My fear comes that the power on the 6.1 will not be sufficient and being that the yard is very large, and there are no neighbors nearby, I want some good volume. The 4.1 system is rated for 250W @ 8 ohms while the 6.1 is 150W @ 5ohms. Can someone shed any light and knowledge on this for me? Which is the best system for me? Should I forgo the amp and use a port with a more po

Both Sonos Arc and Apple TV only have HDMI port. Since Dolby Atmos does not seem to work with Airplay (correct?), I would need a HDMI splitter to connect both the Arc and my old projector. Would that work? What kind of splitter would I have to buy for DolbyAtmos to work? Or is there another possibility? A Toslink splitter for example? Thanks a lot for any advice!

I have seen many threads on backing up your Sonos playlist.  One guy indicated why would Sonos want to provide this feature.  For one it has been asked for a million times and I would think that Sonos buyers would want to have the capability.  Only thing I can think of is that there is some interest and financial benefit to Sonos to not provide that feature.  Seems simple enough.  I am building a playlist (2000+ songs) on one Sonos device at home.  I would very much like to export that playlist and import to another Sonos device at a vacation home. 

I can’t control my Sonos system volume from my Galaxy 3 watch. Has anyone figured this out? I can control the Sonos Pause and Skip functions from my watch. I have the Sonos S2 app on my Samsung Note 9 phone. To enable Sonos control on my watch, I followed these instructions: On the phone, open Sonos App Settings > App Preferences and turn on “Show Notifications,” “Show Lock Screen Controls,” “Control From Other Devices,” and “Home Screen Volume Control.” This worked, and the music app on my watch now has a Sonos option. It shows the title of the current song playing and the Pause and Skip functions work. The volume control is changing the Media volume on my phone, which would normally work, but on my phone there is a new slider labeled Sonos in my volume control. Its icon is a little box with the wireless lines in the corner, similar to the “Cast” icon in Chrome and YouTube for casting the display to a TV. Adjustin

In the past it was not possible in a 5.1 setup to have the TV audio be in full stereo mode, it was stuck in surround sound mode. Does the new S2 app or the ARC Soundbar allow TV audio to be in full stereo mode?

Hi all, I have had the Sonos Arc and HDFury Arcana for 6 months and absolutely love both products. I have not had a problem until recently.Now when switching inputs between Live TV and the Apple TV via HDMI, I receive the Picture, but no Audio. For example, If I turn on the TV with Live TV as the input, then switch to Apple TV. I receive Video, but no Audio. It doesn't seem to matter which input is selected on start up.I have a Samsung Q75R, ATV 4K and Sonos Arc, connected via HDFury Arcana for eArc. I have tried fully resetting and reconfiguring absolutely every component, purchased all brand new HDMI cables.The only way to restore both Audio and Video is to unplug the Arc from the Arcana for a few seconds.To stop my daily frustrations was to remove the Arcana from the equation. I contacted Sonos Support yesterday and the lovely chap thought the Apple TV was a separate TV Display and couldn't understand why I was connecting the Arc to two s

Hi - I have got a Sonos Move and want to connect a  SONY PS-LX310BT bluethooth turntable to it. When I put both into pairing mode nothing happens. The turntable doesn't automatically connect and has no screen to make it happen.  Anyone have experience of this? Or been able to make them happen. Thanks so much!

I have a Beam, 2 Play1 wireless speakers, sub for my SONOS system. My TV is a Sony X940E Bravia and my 4K player is a Sony UBP X700. I’ve just discovered that unless I turn my audio output on my TV to PCM, most of my 4K discs will not play sound. Unfortunately playing PCM on my SONOS Beam is underwhelming. Streaming Netflix in Dolby 5.1 sounds better. I’m wondering if I have any options. Would it be better to purchase a different 4K player or dump SONOS since this has to do with their refusal to obtain DTS licenses. Is there a converter of some sort I can get? Thanks!

i realize that most of the community has moved on from the Sonos Controllers.  I still have two and regardless of the fact that they are slow, I still like them.I have two ZP100’s and a ZP80 and I’ve often wanted to add another amp to my existing system without upgrading to S1.My system is on what I believe is the last firmware that supports the CR100 and that is 8.4.  When I go to the Admin Panel, or whatever it is called, I can see the software version listed as 41.3-50131 which appears to match the build number listed in the screen capture above.  There is a ton of gear on Fleabay and many of the items are ridiculously inexpensive.  I’d like to try and find

I have the Sonos app on my iPhone & iPad Pro. Last night when I went to use my App on my iPhone I get a blank screen on all screens. And on top it say Unable to connect to Sonos: Learn more. But I am still able to use the Sonos App on my iPad to control my music. Both are on the same wifi network. I can check in Settings > About My System and all my Sonos looks to be reading fine. The WM is 0 except for Move > 1. I have sent a diagnostic check. And I wanted to ask here before I try the several steps in the app for troubleshooting.So why is the app working fine on my iPad and not working on my iPhone?

I quite happy using my Playbar for films etc. and intend to eventually buy the Sub.Can i use a pair of Play Ones, placed either side of my TV for music or can i do better with a pair old 3’s or even a pair of 5’s?  I’m setting up a TV/HiFi system in my new Mancave and I’ve read that i can’t have the 2 music speakers playing when watching films etc as they will lag?  Correct? Not too bothered if i can't but just want the best music sound, bang for buck. Thanks 

Hi why is it not possible to control the volume on my Sonos devices using my Galaxy watch 46mm? I can change tracks and see the artwork for the track playing. When I adjust the volume via my watch it has no effect on Sonos.I have set the Sonos app volume control to control via other devices but still no joy. Adjusting the volume on my watch only changes the media volume on my Samsung S7 edge. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere? 

The Android S1 controller app just updated. There is a new notification at the top of the screen saying “It's time to update to Sonos S2. You can schedule an automatic update or do it now. More information”. The notification is large, taking up about 10% of my phone's screen. There is no option to close this notification, unlike previous similar ones. I have decided I want to retain the S1 app and not update to S2. I only use Sonos to play local files from my NAS and have zero interest in any additional features. I previously understood that this is fine; the FAQ regarding the controller says that customers can continue to use the S1 Controller app if they so choose. I've been through all the app menus I can find, but cannot see a way to disable this notification. Does anyone know if there is an option to do this somewhere? Changing the app’s Android notification permissions doesn’t address this problem. Ideally I could permanently disable these notificat

LG has released a firmware upgrade for the B9/C9/E9 supporting multichannel PCM passthrough.  This is great except Arc doesn’t support it yet. Because of this new update, my Apple TV decides it should use LPCM instead of Dolby Digital 5.1 with Atmos enabled resulting in only 2.0 audio for non Atmos content.  The current only workaround is to disable Atmos and enable it when you want to watch an Atmos file.  Very frustrating as the previous firmware had no issue.  

Hello,I have two “Polk Audio Patio 200” outdoors hooked on a Sonos Connect. It covers one area of the yard really well. I have another area of the yard that I would like to cover, only a few feet away from the left Polk speaker. We can hear the music but I'd have to crank it up high, which is not cool for the neighboors.The simpest idea would be to extend the speaker wires out to a third speaker, but part of me tells me it's a stupid idea:I'd only get the left side of the stereo (which might be acceptable- I don't expect high audio quality there, I already have indoors for that). The sonos amp would have to power two left speakers with the same output vs one right speaker. I could also get 2 new speakers so at least it's even on each side. I am pretty much posting here for someone to confirm it is stupid…If so, then what are my options? With the Sonos S2 app on an iphone my Arc was detected and connected to my home network, but will not connect to my new LGOLED77GX TV. I have set the TV sound to output to HDMI Arc, and in additional settings I set the TV to audio pass through and to HDMI eArc. The Gen 3 sub is connected to the Arc, also via the wireless home network. The connection between the TV and the Arc is an HDMI 2.1 cable, plugged into the LG's eArc terminal (HDMI 2), and the other end is plugged into the Sonos Arc. I have tried simply powering off the Arc, and also a factory reset of the Arc, but each time I try to connect the Arc to the TV the Sonos 2 app says it cannot connect to the TV when I tell it the Arc is physically connected to the TV as described above. Help please 🤔.

Can Sonos add Scribd audiobooks to their services? Would love to listen to via Sonos instead of AirPlay, which does play on all 5 speakers, but drains my phone's battery. I listen to Audible all the time on Sonos & am grateful for that link-up. Now, Scribd would be amazing. Thanks!
