Hi Sonos.   S2 has been a let down so far for me. Please tell me you are going to add DD+ functionality to the beam?

just bought a house and it has 4 old connect:amp wondering if its eligible for upgrades - actually i have a bunch of older sonos as ive upgraded thru the years but did not know there was an upgrade - thanks guys

I have a Roku TV sending its audio output from the HDMI Arc port to a Sonos Beam. Behind the couch, I have two Sonos One’s as surrounds, and a Sonos Sub. We mainly watch streaming services. Surround sound on supported shows works and sounds great. But often times we come across shows where there is only audio coming from the Beam, nothing coming out of the One’s. In those cases, is there any way to force whatever’s coming out of the Beam to also come out of the One’s?  I’ve looked in 3 different places (RokuTV audio settings, Sonos app, and audio settings of the streaming service), and I can’t figure out how to accomplish this.

Hello,I connected an arc sound system with an apple TV4K and an hd fury arcana beacause my TV doesn’t have e-arc only arc..With the Netflix application, I choose a film that offers sound in ATMOSBut on the SONOS s2 application it does not mark me “ATMOS” but "PCM Multicannal 5.1”… ?     I have:Sonos ARC2 Sonos One1 Sub Thanks for your help

A good possible product for Sonos and custom installers would be a CI multi-zone amp (like a Denon Heos Drive HS2). My Sonia beam is connected to a Sony TV via HDMI ARC. If I mute the TV for an extended period of time, Beam seems to disconnect from the TV - it doesn’t respond to volume commands through the TV. I can recover by using the Sonos App, telling Beam to play TV, but it’s a hassle. How can I keep abeam connected to my TV during long periods of silence ?

Good morning.  Since the new ATV4K is only shipping next week, I’m  hoping someone will be able to answer this definitively before purchase.Many early adopters of the Arc and owners of recent Sony smart TVs know of the problems re sound that were finally solved after a year by Sony. Very frustrating.  I’ve been reading of problems re Atmos, eArc, etc on older ATVs but nothing seems definitive. Lots of ideas sloshing around.  Im looking for a seemless experience :) after the Sony nonsense.  Basically, plug and play and get the same sound I’m getting now with the smart TV and Arc.  Thank you. 

Help please! I have a Sonos Connect which is wired to external an soundbar using RCA. In the same room I also have a Sonos One (gen 2). When I group the 2 Sonos devices together, the audio is very noticeably out of sync. What can I do? 

Hi everyone,I have a samsung 65Q95T and i bought a Sonos beam. The device is simply connected in hmdi to the eARC port of the tv. I have a question about the sound configuration. In the tv should I leave the output format to Auto or change to PCM or Transfert. In auto am I getting the dolby digital ?I am planning to add 2 small speaker for the suround (probably the play one or the one). Do I need to change something in the setting of the Tv ?  Thanks in advance

Hi,I’ve recently upgraded my TV from a Samsung UE65KS9000 to a Samsung QE65QN95A.  While my old TV allowed me to discreetly turn up the audio using my Sky Q controller - it never showed the awful OSD for the volume Samsung have, the new one does it regardless.Does anyone know of a way to turn the volume of the arc up without activating the OSD?  Even if I use the Sonos App the OSD displays.  I wish Samsung gave you the option to disable this!  Any suggestions\help would be appreciated.All the best,Paul.  

I’ve dug through various forums including here and can’t find a solution to this problem.I have just purchased a Beam with two SLOne’s as rears. The rears are right by the sofa. When they aren’t being used, the have a constant high pitched hissing sound. It’s not loud, but the point is, I can hear it, which isn’t good!I’m downsizing from a regular amp/speakers 5.1 set up, and I would never hear anything coming from the rears when it wasn’t supposed to.Digging around the forums, nobody seems to have a resolution for this. Any ideas? edit: these are on latest upgrade - all brand new units.

I noticed a lot of high end subwoofers can play really low frequencies but after running a few test frequency files, I realized I can’t get any of the lower frequencies which would round out the high quality music files and bass in movies. this be a great feature for the next Sub. 

Is there a way to have my Apple TV remote control my Sonos Arc when the TV is off. For example if I am streaming my Sonos and the TV is off, my Amazon Fire TV remote is able to mute and control the volume on the Arc, which is *very* handy. The Apple TV remote, however, can only control volume when TV and Apple TV are powered on. Strangely the Fire TV remote doesn’t even require the fire stick to be plugged in for the remote to control the Arc. Hoping to find a way to duplicate this functionality with the Apple TV remote. Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum.thanks for any ideas!

Following THIS POST which is now closed for comment:I’m in a similar place with old S1 kit and v10.3 of the android app on my Nexus7 mkII tablets, which keeps me going just fine.I’ve got a couple of Windows 10 64-bit machines that could do with a Windows Sonos controller on-board- but I still need to avoid any system updates that would make my Nexus 7mkII controllers useless.Do I need an old Windows version to prevent updates ? If so, which version and where can I download it to install?For info:On this desktop, I am still running the Windows controller v 10.3The laptop has no Sonos software.I can see the Sonos site has an S1 Windows download (currently SonosDesktopController1126.exe)I also have SonosDesktopController103_0675797637.exeandSonosDesktopController1061_3385173777.exeandSonosDesktopController112.exefiles available.

I know this topic has been brought up in the past but it’s shocking that we still don't have this feature.  All Home AV Receivers give you the option to force multi channel stereo output to all speakers.  This is great for many reasons and can’t grasp why sonos hasn’t addle an option for this.  I have an arc and two One SL’s and have them in my main room.  Due to this limitation and the space setup I just decided to have all 3 speakers configured as separate rooms so i can achieve this. I understand i’m giving up 5.0/1 setup but worth it for my use case.  Ideally sonos wouldn’t ’t’t force it’s customers to make this choice and give us an option.  Completely ridiculous,… I’ve fond posts dating back 6 years asking for this feature.  What gives sonos?!

does my iMac have to be always on for the music library to be available to Sonos?

Hi I just purchased two AMPs one for indoor and another for outdoor use.  I also want to insert a wall mounted volume control for each set to be able to quickly turn down volume if needed.  Can anyone advise what volume controls are compatible with the Sonance indoor and outdoor speakers?

Does iTunes song Volume Adjust setting carry over to Sonos? I'm playing from Apple Music in the Sonos app. I have some acoustic tracks in a playlist that need to be raised. I have increased the individual song volume in options. Will it also be increased through the Sonos app?

Is it OK to use a 65W USB C charger to charge Roam?  Will this be too powerful and resulting in damage to Roam?

I’m no audiophile, but there is a noticeable difference in quality between the Five and the Beam plus Sub when playing music.  Am I expecting too much from the Beam and Sub given they are not designed for music?  Am I setting things up incorrectly?  Thanks folks 

I read a rumor somewhere that Sonos intends to issue a firmware update for the Arc that would allow for a volume slider in the S2 App to independently control the volume of the height channels (upfiring drivers) on the Arc. Can someone please confirm if they have knowledge of or have heard that is true. Thanks in advance 

I had purchased an Arc, Sub, and 2 SL’s for a home theatre configuration, replacing an ancient analog JVC receiver w/2 bookshelf speakers.  We found we missed the stereo separation, so I purchased another pair of SL’s.  But they cannot be added to the room the Arc is in  - apparently the max for the Arc room is the sub and one pair.   The accepted workaround is to add the two new SL’s to a different Room, then configure them as a Group to play together while watching TV.  Two major drawbacks to this:     1.  Volume on TV remote doesn’t control the new Room     2.  The 75 ms delay (inherent to Grouped rooms) is very noticeableI have used Sonos for audio in a different room (I esp. like the dedicated wireless you get with the Boost) and have really enjoyed it.  But I’ve paid a lot of money for this new Sonos home theatre and am sorely disappointed.  If this is the best home theater that Sonos can provide, I plan on boxing up everything and sending it back for a refund.Why on earth is it

Hi, is it me or is Atmos on the Arc just a myth! I’ve had the Arc for about six months feeding it Atmos soundtracks from ATV and XBox (streamed and Blu-ray) and can honestly say I have not once detected a ‘directional’ sound. It sounds good and the 5.1 effect seem to work pretty well but as far as Atmos goes I forget it even has it as a feature, which is a shame as that was a big draw for me. I also prefer my Beam for music. I hate to say it but I feel the arc is a bit overrated.
