Sonos falls asleep ?

My Sonia beam is connected to a Sony TV via HDMI ARC.

If I mute the TV for an extended period of time, Beam seems to disconnect from the TV - it doesn’t respond to volume commands through the TV.

I can recover by using the Sonos App, telling Beam to play TV, but it’s a hassle.

How can I keep abeam connected to my TV during long periods of silence ?

The connection is actually maintained at the TV, not on the Sonos Beam’s side. You may want to check for updates to your TV’s firmware, they may have addressed that “disconnect of ARC” issue in a later version.

After checking for an update on the TV, it’s also worth rebooting the TV, by unplugging it from the wall for a couple of minutes, then plugging it back in. Unfortunately, you can’t “reboot” just by turning off the TV with the remote, or even the hard buttons on the TV.

Thanks for the reply Bruce !

As I’m able to restore the connection from the Sonos App, I figured the issue was not with the TV.

My TV firmware is up to date, but I’ll look for ARC settings to adjust 😎
