I want to add Shared Music Folder for music that is on my Synology NAS (DS720+). When I try to add the NAS shared folder (Shared Folder via File Station) I get either error 900 or 1001. Note: I do not use the cloud capabilities of the NAS. The NAS is only accessible on the local network.
Can you use the in wall speakers by sonace to pair with the new arc sound bar and place in wall behind where you will be sitting
I think its time to sell my Sonos set up.I have 9 Play 1 and a boost. I’ve tried everything multiple times for so long now it’s driving me round the bend. Used to work ok with SkyQ router (14mb) when I disabled 2.4 and gave each speaker a static IP. Then it started playing up. Six months of that and I changed to BT Smart Hub 2 (150mb). Even worse even after router update. I have a small, new 3 bed detached. The router and boost are ceiling height as central to the house as possible but Sonos still refuses to be stable, constantly losing a room or part of a stereo pair. There are just too many variables coming into play to make this system worth bothering with.
hi,i was offered a new playbase for the same price as a new beam.is it still worth it, or it will stop receiving updates preety soon?i mostly listen to music so might eventually try go for the five too, but the playbase seemed to be at a good price opportunity. i have a projector not a telly.im mostly concerned on the expiration of the base, and how good it is for music vs 1 five.any thoughts? thanks!
I have a large library of original CD files ripped onto my hard drive and in Apple Music (formerly iTunes) The files are all in lossless format. I have (4) Gen One Connect Amps. What is the best and highest fidelity way for me to connect the Mac and Sonos?
I really like that the Roam still shows up in the Sonos app when on Bluetooth, displaying battery level as well as providing access to EQ independent of the source music app/device. The poor "old" Move just shows up as "Offline". Does anyone know if this is a function of Bluetooth 5.0 or some other hardware related inclusion in the Roam, or is it possible that this functionality will eventually be implemented for the Move too with a software update?
I have just replaced a Seagate NAS which worked well for 6 years. I used it to create a music library for sonos and also backed up a few photos. I replaced it with. WD My Cloud and have mixed feelings about this. I am having to use the app to play the music and cannot seem to find which address to use to find the music library. The app categorises the music poorly and does not even display the alphabet down the right to enable you to find artists , tracks or albums. I have used iTunes to download almost all of the music. I am also having trouble with the format of the file due to this. I saved all my uploaded music on an expansion drive. When I am putting this on the mycloud it will not play any that hare WMA files but only MP3 . It will not seem to play WAV files which is often the case for download codes. Wishing for my seagate back, although I hope I can resolve these things. I can upload the CDs to make sure they are on MP3, but these all worked fine before.Any ideas.
Hi I have an q70t Samsung plugged into a playbar via optical. Tv remote controls volume when tv is switched on but doesn't work when tv is off (and music is playing) Please help?
I recently was having issues updating my playlists so I decided to delete my music server folder and re-add it. My iMac would not let me re-add it. Under the manage menu item, the choices are grayed out. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you
I suppose I am one of many, but I an anxiously awaiting availability of the Sonos Port. I am planning an extension to my whole-house system that relies on the Port and the Move (which I have). Is there any current information on availability of the Port? I’ve tried Crutchfield, Amazon, and Magnolia without success. Thank you much for any information. Ken Traynham
I’m new to Sonos and very much looking forward to try out my Sub Gen 3 and my Arc once my new place is finished. Currently having craftsmen doing some work before I can move in.First, I planned to have the Arc standing on a media bench but then I started thinking if I maybe should mount it on the wall instead. So I bought the Sonos Arc wall mount. Then I found some information about the sound being changed if you mount it to the wall using the original Sonos wall mount for the Arc. Where the Arc will sense it’s mounted to the wall via a magnet built-in into the Sonos wall mount. Where the sound (primarily the base as I understand it) will be less.Whether this is something you really want seems to be different depending on who you ask.I also bought a 3rd party wall mount for the Arc from Flexson since I have a white Arc but wasn’t able to find the original Sonos Arc wall mount in white. Only black. Not even sure if there is a white version of the original Sonos Arc wall mount? Also not su
What is the best way to go about pushing Sonos or another 3rd party vendor to make a sleeve for the Roam. With no hooks or ability to to carry, it is far less convenient than other portable speakers like the UE Boom. Love the speaker but this is a crucial function for most ways that we use this type of a speaker. Thoughts?
Hi everybody, it’s safe to charge Sonos Roam with a USB-C charger (made for Raspberry) with these specs:5.1v 3.0A 15.3WI’m sure it will generically work but I mean if it could damage or make issues in the long-term use.
HelloAbout 6 Months ago I purchased 5 Sonos one speakers to put around the walls of a hair salon I recently opened. For the last 2 weeks songs keep going silent mid song, coming back to the song and constantly skipping tracks. I have looked at ways to fix it in these forums such as securing each speaker its own reserved IP address. Unplugging each one and plugging them back in. I have even reset every speaker and re set up the system. Nothing has worked.I have also contacted the wireless provider who have promised me we have secure fast broadband.I’m at my wits end. I feel the only real solve is to sell all the sonos speakers and set up a wired system. but I don’t want to do this. PLEASE HELP!
Hi what TV 55 inch works best with Sonos Arc ?
I would very much like to see an enhancement added to the controller app, especially for the desktop. There are at least two functions I would like to see the elimination of the pop up confirmation: Update Music Library Now, and, Clear Queue. There could be others but they don’t spring to mind at the moment. My suggestion is to add a setting that would be referenced when the two functions mentioned above are used. I would describe it as an expert setting. When set to expert mode, those annoying pop up confirmations would not be presented. The end result would be a 1 button click experience where either the music library would be re-indexed or the list of items in the queue would be cleared. My thought would be to add another high level item in the Settings list after Additional Usage Data. Call it Expert Settings. When selected, the right side would present controls like those of EQ: a label “Expert Setting for:” then a drop down with a list containing “Library Update” and “Now Playing Qu
I have a LG nanocell tv which will not connect to my soundbar with the optic cable. I have reset the speaker
I can’t figure out the simple task of waking up to my whole home sonos audio system. It seems like if anyone watches TV or any device ungroups, which obviously both happen daily in normal use, I can’t get an alarm from all speakers. Also, I obviously need to set different speakers to different volumes for an alarm. Simple stuff, what am I not seeing?
Hi all,I’ve been dealing with this issue for about a year and just now got annoyed enough to post about it. I currently have an Audio Technica turntable plugged into a Play 5 via stereo audio cable through line in on the Play 5. I then sync all my other Sonos speakers to the Play 5 and play records through the line-in input. It works great. However, every time I switch records or the record player idles for a while, I have to manually reconnect all the other Sonos speakers in my system EXCEPT for the Play 5 to the line-in. How do I set the system so that the other speakers don’t drop the line-in, and I have to manually reconnect my other speakers through the app every single time I switch a record? Thanks.
Hey Guys- I am looking for an outdoor Alexa enabled speaker. The kicker is I need it to stay outside and be plugged in outside. Any thoughts on how to pull this off. Both the Roam and the Move seem to have indoor charging only. Thoughts?
When playing DTS audio from my OPPO 203 BluRay , I get multi PCM 7.1 but then the vocal sound is outputted at the rear speakers. It wasn't like that prior to the recent update. Anyone can help ?
Grazie
Hi all!I own a Playbar, two Play 3’s and Sub Gen 2. Logging onto my Sonos account it says eligible products are Playbar and Play 3’s. My question is, can I select the Playbar, using the discount upgrade to an Arc and STILL keep the Playbar, i.e. sell it to a collegue of mine.Anybody with experience in trade up, your help would really mean a lot.Neven
Hi all,After selling my HT AVR, dolby atmos speakers, sub, cables etc i bougt a Sonos Arc and 2 One SL’s for surround. Also Sonos Sub is on the way. The TV and movies are okey with this set up, also i think that after my Sonos Sub arrives it will be better then my old HT system, besides physical heights but not a problem. Actually i liked the sound of Arc with OneSL’s when listening music. Only Arc is rubbish for music but with One SL’s it sounds good. The details are nice without sub and i know that after Sub every thing will change about mids, bass and details. But i still have a pair of Dynaudio Special 40’s on sale and honestly i am missing them. And thinking not to sale them, buy a Sonos Amp and drive the SP40’s with the Amp as a stereo set up. Also i could connect my turntable. As most of you know, Dynaudios loves continuous power. SP40’s are 6ohms and handle up to 200w. Sonos Amp gives 187.5w per channel at 6ohms. My main thought is, how will Amp perform with SP40’s? The sound
I just wanted to give SONOS some props for the continual evolution of its HD Radio service. From adding monthly (sometimes twice a month) updates with themed stations, new stations, special event stations, curated stations and even just tweaking and adding stations that fill gaps between different stations, I am getting more and more out of your offering every month. So thank you, keep up the great work and I look forward to what’s next each month and what more you can do with the service. Now you just need to offer a reduced annual rate instead of just monthly and the ability to listen to it via Bluetooth on our Move and Roam speakers. Thank you!
