Hi everyone -I’m trying to connect my Beam G2 to my Google Chromecast with TV, using an HDFury Arcana as the go-between. (The HDMI out is going to a projector). The HDMI ARC test in Sonos S2 app works fine, but when I get to the CEC test, it says “CEC not connected.” I have verified in Chromecast settings that CEC is enabled. Help! I’m not super technical so I may need any advice help translated into one syllable words. For the Arcana I literally just took it out of the box and plugged everything in -- not sure if there’s some setting there I should be looking for. Altho FWIW the little display says everything is connected and working. Thanks!Matt
Hi everyone. Sorry if this has been answered already but here’s my issue; I have just moved house and inherited a Sonos Connect Amp. I have done a factory reset on it. I have brought my multiple Sonos One’s over and re set them up. They are all working (using the Sonos S2 app). when I try add the amp it tells me I need to do this using the S1 app, so I switch to that app and as soon as the app opens, I get a message telling me I can do everything on the S2 app now. So I switch back and it’s just sending me in circles? any help would be appreciated. thank you
Dear Community,***To date, my testing of Dolby Streams / codecs has been fulfilled by searching Streaming Content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and HBO Max. However, I concluded that the Sound Recording / Mixing is maturing as Dolby continues to develop and release new-leading edge sound codecs.***I researched looking for streaming from Dolby itself to truly appreciate Dolby products /codecs from a Sound Developer's perspective. I finally succeeded - thanks to CEO / President Gopal Miglani of www.bitrouter.com for heightening my understanding of Dolby Codecs! *** https://developer.dolby.com/tools-media/sample-media/video-streams/hd-video-streams/ Copy links to your Browser to enjoy 5.1 / 7.1 / Atmos- Glass Breaking / Atmos-Universe. Use AirPlay to the TV for the dynamite sound experiences, including placement of speakers and their performances - it also told me that my left back-speaker is indeeed the left one for my Sonos Home Theater System! I have 5.1. *** Enjoy! ... In Partn
I just spent over $2000 on this system, loaded up my music… And it couldn’t finish. I see from past posts that it has something to do with a memory limit of older devices. I have this 32-bit application called Winamp that hasn’t really been updated since before Sonos released its first product. It handles hundreds of thousands of songs with no problem. What’s the work-around? I see support posted a link in a previous thread, but the link doesn’t work anymore. If I pare back my indexed folders, I can live with this, but this feels like it’s going to be the first of a series of software issues for something that’s supposed to be a premium product.
Roam goes offline after being idle for a short time. Then it seems like I have to hold the button down for about 15 seconds to restart.Any tips? Many thanks in advance!
So now Dark mode is enabled? It’s in settings-app preferences-appearance.This must have been part of 13:3:2 but I’m sue it wasn’t turned on then. Seems to have been activated later, or maybe I’ve only just noticed, although no one else seems to have noticed either😳
Whe it start Sonos Black Friday this year?
So, our TV in the bedroom shares a wall with the nursery. Is there a way to only play TV audio out of Sonos One Speaker pair set up as rears to be bedside, and mute the Beam under the TV? We are concerned about sound keeping our baby awake at night.
would it be possible at all to have 1 sonos 1 speaker (the one with Alexa built in) and use that to play music on all the othersie i ask the sonos 1 to play a song and the sound then comes out of all of the sonos 1s?i ask because ive got 6 Sonos 1 plays dotted about downstairs so rather than sell all of them and get the new ones it would be helpful to be able to play music through them all at once but with only the new sonos 1 taking the commands from the built in Alexa or would i be better buying an Amazon Echo or dot and setting it all up that way? thank you
I know that there is a lot of topic about, but I am not able to make my Sonos Playbase to work with my computer. I bought an OPTICAL CABLE, it is connected I can see the light at end, plug into the playbase and nothing.
Hello - I have an AMP inside the house that wires through the walls to two outdoor speakers R+L and I was wondering if I can connect these wirelessly to my Samsung Terrace TV. Is there some sort of transmitter that will allow me to do this without having to purchase a weatherized Sonos soundbar to wirelessly connect them together? Best,Chris
As per the title, nice to just let it finish rather than either stopping or waiting around to end of track because you’d like to hear it anyway.
I’m using an LG OLED55B6 TV with HDMI ARC output to HDMI input of Sonos Amp. The Sonos Amp powers L&R passive front speakers and is also connected to Sonos Sub 3 and 2x Play Ones as rear surround speakers.Using a Dolby 5.1 source from Apple TV 4K fed to TV via HDMI 1 I can only get ‘PCM Stereo’ shown on S2 App, confirmed by the Play Ones outputting the same signals as the L&R front.Sonos CS tell me that with passives connected as front channel, the Sonos Amp will only operate in 2.1 mode. Before returning the kit to Sonos, has anyone managed to get a Sonos Amp working in 5.1 or, more accurately, 4.1 since it has a ‘phantom’ centre front?Any advice or comments would be much appreciated! All the research I did prior to purchase indicated that 5.1 was possible with this configuration. Many thanks,Melchet.
Just bought the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable to Five and need some advice please:I want to connect both the CD player and turntable to the 5 without having to swop cables every time...is this possible? If so what type of cable should i get? Any recommendations for the cd player itself….is there a more suitable one for the 5?Appreciate your help. Thank you
Hello,I recently purchased HDFURY ARCANA. I connected my Apple tv 4k(latest) to Sonos arc for audio and BENQ TK850 Projector for video. Both with ultra high speed HDMI cables. Everything works well but I am not able to control my SONSOS ARC volume with apple remote anymore. Without ARCANA( if I connect my Apple TV to benq and use it’s eARC to SONOS ARC, I could control the volume. Is there any fix for this remote problem?Note: Benq TK850 eARC supports only two channel stereo so it’s not really a true eARC.
Even when i Am sure that im listening dolby atmos ,in sonos app appears only 5.1,so i need to go to the arc then i unplug it, wait for a minute and finally appears Dolby Atmos in sonos App, after three hours… dolby atmos is leaving again, its so frustrating, thanks for your help!!
So disappointed with my Sonos. Cannot connect via the app. Always says "cannot find existing Sonos system" .Yet a scheduled playlist I set up years ago on Plex still regularly plays at 7:30 everyday. How is it that Plex can connect to Sonos without a hitch to but the official Sonos app fails. I had plans on buying a Sonos for every room of my house, but that would be a waste of my time and money.I have tried Sonos support and I'm tired of being told it's my WiFi that is the problem. I have superb WiFi. The app fails to connect even when I plug a network cable directly. You have lost my business Sonos. Congratulations on your total failure.
I have one Xgimi Horizon, but the picture quality didn't satisfy me, do you guys have any recommendations? I wanna change my Horizon to horizon pro(4K version). Any Screen suggestions BTW.
I am looking for a solution that would allow me to use headphones, preferably wireless along with the Sonos Arc
I currently have a play 3 in my bedroom and it’s great for music. I’m going to upgrade the sound on my TV so I’ve considered buying a Beam. How is the Beam compared to the Play 3 for music? If I buy a beam I will move the Play 3 to another room. Will the sound quality for music on the Beam be comparable to the Play 3? If not I’ll just buy a lower cost sound bar for the TV and keep the Play 3 for music. Thanks
Hello; I’m using a Samsung TAB A for my Sonos 2 controller, version 13.3. I want to upgrade to a Windows 10 or 11 Surface Pro 7 Notebook, so will the Sonos 2 controller load and work on a WIN 10 or 11 device? The online results are contradictory & not clear, nothing new there! Thanks, Stef 11
Hi all , I currently have a Yamaha sound bar that's rated at 120watt power output , ideal listening volume is near 80 on the volume slider , my living room is about 13ft X 12ft and I sit about 10ft away from the TV , I'm worried that if I get the gen 2 beam that it won't be as loud because Sonos don't specify the power output , does it go fairly loud ??? Considering the size ??
Hi all , I'm thinking of getting the beam 2 but I need to check a couple of things before I get one , I know it doesn't have Bluetooth but 1 ... can I play music files off my phone on the beam gen 2 ???? And2 ... can I play internet radio stations via the app ??? Thanks
So… since Sonos decided to cease support for the play 5, Connect etc. My Sonos system with legacy products is now so very unreliable. Utter Rubbish.I used to be so very positive about Sonos and their products. I now really have NOTHING positive to say.It has got to the point now where I regret buying this expensive rubbish.Dont get me wrong, when it works it sounds great but that’s if you can control it!
Hi, I currently have a surround sound setup that consists of 5 speakers (centre, 2 front and 2 rear) wired through a receiver. With universal remotes being phased out and smart TVs recognizing inputs we are finding it more and more complicated to maintain this setup. I am considering purchasing a sound bar and if I understand correctly I can then continue to use my wired rear speakers if I also purchase an amp. I actually have an older connect amp that is not getting much use (that is currently set up in a different room). What I am wondering is if I can use this connect amp with a new sound bar or is this not possible because it is on the old Sonos ‘system’ and a a new sound bar would be on the new app/system?thanks
