questions regarding beam 2

Hi all , I'm thinking of getting the beam 2 but I need to check a couple of things before I get one , I know it doesn't have Bluetooth but 

1 ... can I play music files off my phone on the beam gen 2 ???? 

And

2 ... can I play internet radio stations via the app ???

  1. What kind of phone? If it’s an Apple, yes, AirPlay 2 will work. if it’s a Android, yes as long as their both on the same network.
  2. Yes, it’s a Sonos speaker, so all the features of the Sonos ecosystem will apply.

 

Just as a small correction, it does have BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) for setup purposes only, not for music carrying purposes.

Thanks for your reply , I use an android phone . The Yamaha app that I use for my current sound bar has a section for choosing which location and genre .

The Sonos software allows you to “play from this device” for Android, assuming the music is stored in the “standard” location, and not on an SD card or other “non-standard” place.
