Hi all,I am new with Sonos and just purchased Sonos Beam Gen 2. After using, I am realizing that I am missing the Sub-woofer sound from the same. Can someone suggest me the ways to add Sub-woofer to Sonos Beam Gen 2?thx,Nitin M
I have no problem getting Dolby Atmos from My fire stick Max connected directly to a EDID switch (4 in 2 out). I have set the Blu Ray player to output Dolby Atmos and the Blu ray Player display/audio menu confirms true HD/ Dolby Atmos tracks are playing but I can get no better than A Dolby Digital 5.1 audio on SONOS Arc. The Blu Ray player is plugged in directly beside the fire stick Max on my EDID switch and is connected with a 48GB HDMI cable. Does any one know where my bottleneck may be?
Does anyone have thoughts about which of these combinations to choose? For music/audio, not TV.Price is roughly the same, within £50.
Newb here & couldn’t find the answer to my question: If I have an Amp & use wired speakers for L/R fronts, would I also be able to connect 2 One SL’s (wrong model in title) to use as L/R rear surrounds? I would use the 2 wired fronts for my turntable & then all 4 for TV.Can I do that with a single Amp?Thanks!
Hi Community!I currently have an integrated amp with multiple inputs (turntable, CD player, AM/FM tuner) and multiple passive speaker outputs grouped by room (kitchen, patio, living room, etc.) The speakers are connected to a switcher for each set (room) and connected to the integrated amp via two L/R speaker connections.I am wondering if the switcher could connect to Amp via the two L/R speaker connections (thinking yes). However, I do not know how to solve the component input question. Would I need a preamp? The goal is to take my existing analog/passive system, integrate it with SONOS speakers, and control everything through the SONOS app. However, the speaker switcher would probably be recognized as one channel, right? Would I need an app for each room, then? Thank you!
Hey all,We have just finished our retirement home build and I am looking to install a Sonos system. The builder pre-wired 2 Ceiling speakers and 2 exterior speakers on our lanai all the speaker wires run to a utility closet in our front hallway.I am determining everything I need to buy and wanted to get some advice on that. For the exterior, there will be a TV there eventually, but I initial thought is that I just want to play music through those speakers - so I am thinking I just need an amp and the 2 Sonance exterior speakers. Is that right and does that limit me in any way if I want to add the exterior TV to the sound in the future? For the interior, I assume a need an additional amp, a sound bar, two passive ceiling speakers and a subwoofer to get surround sound. Am I missing anything there? For reference, the utility closet is within 50 feet of both the interior and exterior TVs and speakers and all TV locations have ethernet cables pulled to the closet. Thanks in advance for any an
I revised things recently when my old computer died, which we used as a local server, including a Music folder that we accessed via SONOS. When we got a new computer, we canned the server idea and placed all our files, including our music folder, onto Microsoft OneDrive. Is it possible to stream from OneDrive? What about some other online repository? Or must it be local?
HiI have an lg cx and sonos arc with sub.I wanted to cure a hdmi control issue with my Apple TV 4K box and disabling cec control on my lg cx fixed it.My sonos Arc seems to operate still, all be it I can’t control volume for live tv via tv remote anymore. But app to do that is fine.Basically all I want to know is is there any other issues that could arise from not using hdmi CEC control? Is it an important feature to keep enabled or am I fine having it disabled? thank you
HelloI have beam gen2 plus sub gen3 and would really like to add my turntable to the set up. I’m going round in circles (pun intended) trying to decide between an amp, a port or a 5 with a line in. I’ve tried cabling it up to my tv with the RCA but it won’t play through the HDMI arc, it will play via its own input but I don’t want the tv on whilst playing.A second hand 5 is probably most cost effective but would that work with what I already have? Also tried combining the HDMI into 1 input into the beam but it didn’t like it. Many thanks in advance. steve
Hi,I currently have a Rega Planar 3, Rega MK5, integrated amp, and Polk R200s. I am looking at the Port so I can connect to other Sonos speakers in my house. However, if I don't want to connect to the other Sonos speakers, is it possible to disable the Sonos Port and have the analog signal maintained to my Polks?
Hi I know this sounds crazy, but is there any potential for the above? My Sony Bravia and TV subscription was allowing me to watch UHD/HDR content when available. I was able to check this via the Bravia settings. Somehow, the message on tv screen confirming hdr no longer appears, even when watching enabled content. The only thing that’s changed in my set up is hdmi from Bravia (arc) to Sonos.Would appreciate your advice. Thanks
This would likely apply only to the UK … unless you use a vpn to get BBC Sounds on Sonos. Currently in the USA you can listen to the BBC Radio stations via TuneIn.And not sure that BBC Sounds in the UK on Sonos uses Shoutcast…. but thought i would post it for general informationI heard the announcement today after a news program. the link below is on the BBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/help/questions/recent-changes-to-bbc-sounds/shoutcast-closure The BBC uses several streaming technologies to deliver BBC Sounds. If you are hearing a message informing of this change, you are listening using Shoutcast. The BBC will stop supporting Shoutcast by mid-2023. Why are we making these changes? Shoutcast is an older streaming technology and many connected radio devices in the UK no longer use it. Ending support for Shoutcast will enable us to focus on the two most popular technologies currently used – HLS and DASH. As well as delivering better value, it will allow us to understand more
If playing from Amazon the queue is no longer in use. I can load the queue from Apple music, but cannot find a way to play that queue and stop Amazon….
Trying to search on mixcloud or as users on Sonos search but nothing found, is the service down?
I recently installed several era 100 units for a client. They are all connected to Alexa. 50% of the time when I tell Alexa to play something on a era100, I can see in the Sonos app the music change and start playing but I have no sound. I have to press pause, play in the Sonos app for it to have sound. It’s doing this on all the era100 units. Any ideas? Never encountered this before.
Sometime in the future, I am contemplating either getting a Sonos One SL to pair with my Sonos One - or a single Sonos Era 100. See question above.
I am considering purchasing the Ultimate Immersive set w/Arc but before I pull the trigger, want to see if I can use my existing speakers. If so, what do I need to accomplish this? Would one Sonos Amp connect to all?Fronts= Polk audio RTI70 floor standing speakersCenter= Klipsch RC-52 IIPowered Sub= Klipsch R-12SW If possible, I also have a pair of Definitive AW-6500’s outside that are currently not connected to anything that I would like to connect. Would the Gen2 Sonos connect amp be suitable for these? A Yamaha RX-V675 receive is currently powering them. I don’t care if I lose the receiver as I intend on Sonos (whatever I get)replacing its functionality for occasional FM Music and Movie watching. Thanks for any insight into my question. Victor
When i put my sonos move on the charging base it will automatically connect to content on my phone that i wasn’t even listening to or watching and suddenly it is blaring in my house. OMG is that irritating!! I NEVER want auto play, period. Can they not add a setting to prevent that from happening regardless of what app is causing it to start?? That was a rhetorical question, obviously Sonos could do that. Is there some way of accomplishing what i’m asking about? Please help!
Hi guys,I´ve been searching internet for almost a year now and I still can´t find anyone who sells the-best-for-my-daughter´s-room speaker, which I believe to be Play:1. I don´t expect it to be new of course, fairly used and treated will do. Can you point me to a right direction or maybe you sell one yourself?I live in Czech Republic (Czechia now).Let me know, thanks!JJ
So I have had my Era 300 since about April and intially I took a 3 month trial of Amazon musicWas not impressed in the method of finding and identifying Spatial music which is done through the Sonos app. Now that trial has finished I have taken a 2 month trial on Apple musicUnlike Amazon Music there does not appear to be a way of identifying which albums are in Dolby Atmos.Am I missing something. I really was looking forward to this experience and although I love the sound of the Era 300 I find it difficult to find Dolby Atmost music. Am I? Am I missing something?
Dear all,Hi, I’m a new Sono user.I would like to ask here some questions and search for suggestions, so let’s start:AFAIK TruePlay is configurable only with iPhone. What if I have only Android? Isn’t there another way? Which speakers are compatible with my Sonos Beam Gen 2 to expand my Home Theater System? Are there compatible speakers that are wireless and rechargable? My goal is to use them only when needed, so when I play a movie and then place them somewhere when not used. In case I add two speakers, are then they added as back-left and back-right speaker? I mean on a Dolby audio movie I’ll able to listen the ambient sound coming from behind with the back audio channels? Last but not least, what would you give priority to expand my setup. Starting from a little subwoofer or starting from the rear satellite speakers? Thanks a lot to all!Simon
Hola amigos! Soy de buenos Aires Argentina y tengo una sonos arc en la cual quisiera saber que es y para que sirve el apartado de "Sonido en altura"
There seems to be no possibility to remove the Sonos Radio music service. To my knowledge, this is the only music service that cannot be removed (or disabled, both would do well) I want to remove the Sonos Radio service, because it gets in the way when searching for a radio station. I do not want to use Sonos Radio, because Sonos Radio does not meet my requirements of an internet radio player, which is: play radio station from my region. When using Sonos Radio to stream the VRT radio streams (Flemish broadcasting in Belgium), the stream does only start after 15 seconds. And half of the time, it is the wrong stream (playing “de tijdloze” instead of “VRT Radio 1 Classics”. This i s a known problem to Sonos, according to the VRT website: https://www.vrt.be/nl/aanbod/kijk-en-luister/radio-luisteren/streamingslinks-radio/ (Dutch). But Sonos fails to update their services. As suggested by that website, I’m now using Radioplayer, which starts the stream in 2 seconds and it plays the correc
