IKEA SYMFONISK Gen 2

Picked up a Gen 2 lamp yesterday.  Can someone confirm if it is S2 only or can be downgraded to S1 to work with my other speakers please? It is not clear on the compatibility list, there is no Gen 1 or 2 noted against the lamp. I don’t want to set it up if I need to return it.
