Hi I’m looking to see what I need and any recommendations for equipment? I’m looking for Arc and Sub plus 2 x monitor audio ceiling speakers as well as ceiling subwoofer? What other equipment do I need? I also have wired internet connection to amp and anything else that needs it. Ty
Only just found out about the 14.16 update allowing Roams to be able to stay stereo paired when being used with Bluetooth (while at home and on a Wi-Fi connection at least). Been testing it out today as I have 2 of the coloured Roams in my kitchen which are used to BT from the PC and my phone. Yes before, I could group them but could not stereo pair them as a long term thing without constantly re-pairing them again and again.Nice that I can stereo pair them now and also use them how I used to. But now of course, I can play tunes via Wi-Fi when not being used with BT.Happy about this!
I have connected 2 turntables thru a mixer via the RCA outputs into a Play 5 line in. I was not expecting to have a 2 second delay and would like to know if a pre amp tape output or some other fix might help?
Just got a second Roam to use as a stereo pair when not at home, looks like for whatever screwed up reason this is not implemented (yet?), any chance it will be added soon?
Although we are satisfied with the product and it’s quality, I have lived with the very disappointing news that I cannot play my songs stored in my phone. when we purchased the product, this was the one reason we purchased Sonos because we could play the music we have purchased from Apple I tunes. This was the feature we enjoyed most about using Sonos. After being able to do this for a number of years, Sonos and Apple changed there strategies and now the only way we can play our music is with a subscription to Apple Music. This was the only option Sonos offered us to restore our original level of service, allow us to play our music in I tunes from our phone or unless a stand alone Mac PC with I tunes was on in WiFi. Has any one else been disappointed or know of a way to restore to original service? Thank you
I really like the aesthetic of the speakers and would like to great a surrounding room of speakers with them.I would like to also use a mix of speakers including the picture frame and light models with the IKEA collab.I would Ideally like a 9.3.6 setup.3 subwoofers… one of the bigger one and two of the smaller ones at the rear of the sofa. Then the wall speakers for the celling. The thing is, I do understand there will be now speaker timing added to this so I was thinking maybe they could bring out a unit one day that allows a user to connect whatever setup they have and include a multi direction microphone to tune a timing alignment setting to the setup.Because also, Atmos music in the producer community is starting to rise, we will eventually end up with Atmos music mixes as a standard at some point.Food for thought Sonus?I’m a producer and mix engineer myself also… any plans of studio monitors?… (side note that isn’t that important)
I’m using Sonos v. 15.1.1 on macOS Ventura on an M2 Mac Mini. I have a music folder under a OneDrive folder. I’ve given Sonos read/write access to this folder under File Sharing and Sonos is turned on under Accessibility, but when I try to add the folder in the Sonos app, I get an error message that “Sonos was unable to add the music folder. Access to the shared folder “//MY_NAME-Mac-mini/Music” is denied - check the username and/or password” I created a music folder outside of the OneDrive folder and there’s no issue adding that folder, so it must have something to do with OneDrive. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sonos too. Appreciate any suggestions!
I am based in Ireland and I usually use my Sonos to listen to BBC 6 Music.Recently the stream is intermittantly interrupted with a message saying that in mid-2023, I will no longer be able to stream BBC via Sonos. It says to contact the manufacturers of my smart speaker for more information. It’s not clear if the issue it with BBC, Sonos/Sonos Radio or TuneIn (I’m aware there are other BBC/TuneIn issues).Do we know if BBC have any plans to make BBC Sounds available on Sonos outside of the UK?
I have an Arc, sub mini which are connected. There’s a move in the room also and I’m getting an Era300, will I be able to do a 5.1 set up with the move and Era300?
Located in US. BBC Sounds is not in my list to add a service. Yet all recent support says it should be. I would love to llsten to BBC,,, Any ideas?
What sample rates for FLAC files work with Sonos Music Library. I have music from a variety of sources, so they tend to vary.Sonos documentation does not specify: https://support.sonos.com/en-ca/article/supported-audio-formats-for-sonos-music-library, since I’m using S2 - 24-bit should work and this list should mention sample rates is some aren’t going to play.I get the unsupported sample rate 24b96000Hz and 24b192000Hz errors. 44100Hz seems to work, but that’s 16 bit? Before I go downsampling my entire music library this would be good to know. I’m aware I could host a server to do the work or use Plex.
I just finished my AV setup as follows: TV w/ HDMI cable to Sonos Arc, plus Sonos Sub and Sonos Amp connected via ethernet (and wifi). I have a turntable and CD player going into a switch that’s connected to the Amp’s line in. I also have 2 satellite speakers connected to the Sonos Amp.I’ve been able to get the satellite speakers to work as surround by putting all 3 devices in 1 “room” on the app. I’ve also been able to get the turntable and CD player to play through the line in by creating a 2nd “room”, assigning the Sub and Amp to it, and then enabling both room1 and room2 during playback. To go back to watching TV, I have to reassign the Sub and the Amp to room1.My question is this: Is there a way to save these 2 configurations in the app, or some alternate setup, that makes it easy to switch between the two? Having to reassign the products to different “rooms” each time you want to switch between the line-in media and TV is quite cumbersome.
I have a strange problem. In one room I have 2 sonos five in stereo. After trueplay is done, they are out of balance. I have to slide the balance 5 points to the right. If i toggle trueplay on off, it is very noticeable. with trueplay off balance is in center 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway to fix this without using the balance control?
Why can’t sonos and Spotify get along anymore? It used to be seamless, and then Sonos changed their software. You are a speaker company. You should be able to play my damn music! Regret purchasing.
For starters, the soundbar itself sounds good. That was the main reason I went for this soundbar, the sound quality has high reviews. I was able to listen to one in person before purchasing it and it sounded good to me.I got home and set it up and was extremely confused after plugging in power and signal and didn't have a working speaker like i've done for the last 30 years of my life. I had to make a sonos account, install an app and enable bluetooth, location, and microphone access to this app, and I needed to connect the beam to my wifi. All just to use a hardwired speaker that has a direct signal being fed to it via the optical to hdmi adapter that was included. Why is all this necessary just to use the speaker with a hardwired signal? I can use a smart tv without ever connecting it to the internet, just give it a signal and it works. Can I disconnect the beam from my wifi? Can I remove the app on my phone and still have a working speaker? If the answer is no then i'm likely returni
My living room is 800 sq feet. With 2 Sonos One and a Sub I cover part of it . Increasing volume or going for 2 Sonia Five wouldn’t change so much as I willl have a size too loud and the rest too silent . With Sonia Era 300 and spatial audio , any possibility to place 3 or for units and have Trueplay finding a way to fill the entire room una an optimized way ?? Thanks ! giovanni
Hi. I have scoured all the boards here and the web and cannot rectify this issue. Everything on the Sonos FAQs cites is 10+ but with 13 all sorts of stuff changed. I have a library on a usb-connected drive on my Mac desktop. This library was connected to my system previously no issues. Upgraded to Ventura, cleared everything and tried to add the library back, it goes through all the steps then says “Sonos was unable to add the music folder. No paths could be added as a share.”firewall is open for sonosdisk permissions open. file sharing open. can’t even get mobile app to recognize the computer to try and add it that way Anyone else have this and solve it?
Hi - I just bought the Roam - I will be paring it with mt Sonos One speaker in my main home. I also have a holiday home - what happens when i bring the Roam there? Do I need to de- pair it? Do I need a new app for the second location? Thanks
Hi all I currently have a sonos one and am of the understanding that there is no bluetooth connectivity to connect a device for audio playback. I'm wondering if there is a work around to this. I know I could look to purchase a move or roam and link this to my existing system, seems a bit of a pricy investment considering the cost of One. I was wondering however if this same principle will apply using an alexa device, an echo dot for example witch allows bluetooth playback, with this will I then have the option to mirror this audio on my sonos one? Any help will be appreciated
Hello, guys!I am owner of a Beam Gen 2 for a month.I am fine with the quality of the sound of it. I didn’t expect so much, but I it’s fine for a soundbar costing 350 euro (purchased in on Black Friday for 350 euro). As I am fan of the bass, I wanted to purchase a sub for the Beam.Today I purchased Sub Gen 3, trying to fix the lack of signficant bass of the Beam :)I connected the devices and then……Tried to listen some music - terrible… The bass produced for the songs I played was toooooo powerful, while the sound quality was poor… The heights were so poor… I have pain in my ears now ….Tried any kind of settings but noting improved the sound quality. Then I tried fo check the quality of watching movies - OK, finally a good match, but I want to listen music with better quality and with heights… So, I will return back my Sub Gen 3 tomorrow, as I am not satisfied with it.In terms better music performance, do you expect that Sub Mini can produce better and clearer music sound? I forgot to say
I have sonos port connected with a turntable, can I also get a cd player connected to this setup?
Hello - will the Pro-Ject T1 turntable connect with Play 3 through Denon receiver? I have Play 3 and the sound bar. Thanks!
I have an already existing turntable set up of a Fluance RT 82 (which doesn’t have a built in phono preamp) > Phono In of a Sony STR-DH190 amp > speaker wire to passive speakers. The family room is next to my set up is going to have ceiling speakers installed with a Sonos amp (primarily used for TV sound).I’d like to be able to sometimes listen to my wired set up as described through my wired speakers and other times, play my turntable through my sonos amp in the family room.l’ve read there are a few options (using a port, a Connect G2, or a Bluetooth transmitter + Roam), but I’m not sure how all the connections work and in what order and how to change the output to toggle between the hardwired output and the Sonos. I do see on my amp, input 4 has both IN and OUT, but I don’t see how to switch between the speaker terminal out and the input 4 out.And if all of this is possible, any guidance of pros/cons between the port/connect G2/BT+Roam options would be appreciated. Thanks!
Does Sonos publish frequency response charts for their speakers anywhere? He’s my conundrum, I just updated my home office, and right now I have one Play:Five Gen 2 in here. I’m considering either putting in two Five’s or two Era 300’s. I tried out spatial audio with Apple HomePod’s and found them less than thrilling compared to the single Five. My fear is the Era 300’s will be the same way. But I did like the spatial audio quite a bit in my space. So what I’m trying to figure out is if adding a Sub Mini or Sub would fill the gap in frequency response that some of the early reviewers have mentioned the Era 300 has in comparison to the Five. Or if I really need to get the Five’s to get the high-fidelity music at the expense of spatial audio.
I cant updating my play 5 Sonos to change to wifi connect. How to play my sonos 5 without eithernet cable connect to my home wifi network
