Hi All, I need your advice and help !! as I have recently received my new ERA 300’S to add to my Arc and Gen 3 Sub, The Spatial / Atmos music that comes out through the app ( Apple ) is outstanding and i love the clarity and depth of the music,However i now find after re-calibrating my speakers through the app that the movie sound coming out of the ARC is very tinney and not as good as it used to be, I’ve turned down the treble and it’s still not as i would like it,Do any of you have any recommendations for the settings ??
Hi last year I bought the surround sound set for my living room and I now want to be able to play vinyl, I know I need the turntable but do I need the PORT or the amp ?
Ok so this might be a really bad idea. I have a room that i use only for music currently I have 2 era 100’s and a sub mini it sounds great. I was thinking it would sound even better if I added a single 300 to the set up. I know I can’t pair it to the 100’s but could I just add it as its own thing and turn them all on at the same time and have a fully immersive experience or is that just a bad idea?
Hi, I currently have three Gen 1 Play 5s.To connect them to the Internet I need to have one hardwired to the router. The other 2 then connect via WiFi.If I was to upgrade to two Era 300s and an Arc soundbar, do I still need one unit hardwired?Or will all three work from WiFi. Thanks.
I recently got my first set of Sonos speakers (Amp + Soance + Roam) for my patio. The idea was that I would team the Roam with the Amp to have hands-free control of the system. So far, that has worked brilliantly! One of the few things I was annoyed with was that when I activate Alexa using the Roam, if music is playing on the grouped Amp, the volume does not lower for both members of the group. However, if I use the Sonos voice control, BOTH members of the group lower volume after activating the assistant. This greatly helps with voice commands. It would be cool if Sonos could create the same behavior for Alexa that the Sonos assistant does.
Has anyone compared the new Era 100 with the Amazon Studio?
Spatial Audio/Atmos musicWith the launch of Era 300, Sonos radio HD should really be providing spatial audio/atmos mixed music on the service. Currently it appears that only Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited are providing access to this, and each requires a separate and specific subscription. I’d like to see this coming from Sonos Radio HD as the Era 300 speakers launch this month. Would that be possible? Moderator edit - combined posts
Hello, I have a zp 100. My question is if I can lower it to 3 ohms per channel and it doesn't affect much or at least it works?
How is a secondary search function performed in the Windows App (but the same applies for the iOS)For example, I want to find Bach Concerto for Violin and Oboe performed by Itzhak Perlman. This involves two different fields (Song and Artist) - yet only 1 search field is available. If I search on Itzhak Perlman, I get thousands of responses as he has recorded for decades. If I search on Bach Concerto for Violin and Oboe, I get at least hundreds of responses.I would have to manually slog through a lot of search results to find what I’m looking for.
Recently purchased the Sub (Gen 3) and noticed that the plastic at the top of the sub seems to stick out on one side. Is this a common quality problem?
I haven’t found an exact answer on the forums here, so apologies in advance if this appears to be a duplicate post, but I just need some clarification before we start doing some wiring in our house…For aesthetic purposes I am looking for a setup that allows a 5.1 setup to run on Sonos. The TV is going above fireplace within a recessed area and we don’t want a mantle for a Sonos sound bar (Arc) to sit on top of.As I understand it, there is no way to get a 5.1 setup with Sonos if you’re not going with an Arc (or Beam) and pairing with Sonos rears (Eras, One, Fives, etc.) or passive ceiling speakers powered by a Sonos Amp that is then paired with the Arc. It seems like the best I could do is a 4.1 setup with no center channel if I went with a pair of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers - each powered by a pair of Sonos Amps, is this correct?Alternatively, if I had a 5.1 setup connected to an AV receiver could I connect a Sonos Port? If so, what is required to easily switch between TV audio and
Hello to.all, I purchased 2 Era300 and 2 Era100 for a comparison with a Beam 2 gen and Mini Sub on a home theater system. My impressions:I played a Dolby vision + Dolby Atmos demo of.the tv:Seems more detailed the sound coming from the 100's.And I played later a movie badged "Dolby Atmos" on Netflix. On a scene where there is an helicopter flying from the left side the sound is very similar to the 3O0's.U don't feel the different effects of the Dolby Atmos.Even thought SonoS app reports me "Dolby Atmos". I also moved through different places of the room and, still, do not feel the sound difference from the 2 types of speakers. Anybody has the same impression?Shame i can't up load here the registration of the sound comparison
Seems like the Sonos application does not support Spotify audiobooks at this point; in late 2022, Spotify added support for purchasing and listening to audiobooks on their platform. Does anyone know if Sonos is planning on supporting Spotify audiobook playback anytime soon?
Hello I have the arc. Mini sub and two Sonos ones . The ones are on the wall at the rear however my sofa is against the wall as well. I have no way of placing them behind me. if I replace the ones with the era’s would they still work not being behind me?they would be placed on stands right in the rear corner of the room. mid this would still work how should they face ? Into the room or at 45deg into the room or turned to face me on the sofa.also I have never had great success with atmos movies with the arc and ones I would hope the eras would fix this.
Hi everyone! I currently have the Kenwood KR-A4070 and speakercraft amp operating our built in speakers. We have 6 speakers. Can we replace the kenwood receiver and speakercraft with the sonos port? The system is pretty outdated - we added a bluetooth connect, but the sound is pretty inconsistent and we’re looking for an upgrade. would y’all suggest a sonos amp? Any suggestions appreciated! By the way, this is just used for music and is currently tucked away in a cabinet.TIA
I discovered today Apple Music Atmos music tracks downgrade to non-Atmos when at least one non-Amos speaker or set is added to the playing group. The tracks John Coltrane's Blue Train played in Atmos when grouping an Arc + Era 300 surround set, Era 300 stereo pair, and Beam Gen 2 + Sonos One surround set. When I then grouped a Sonos One stereo pair the music dropped very briefly, the Atmos logo disappeared from the Sonos app Now Playing screen, and the music resumed in stereo. The difference was definitely audible and a downgrade. It's disappointing to have to downgrade to the lowest common denominator if I want to have music playing throughout my home.I'm going to read through the iTunes Package Format documentation, not sure if it will provide any insight. What's weird to me is Atmos music will play in my Beam Gen 2 + Sonos One surround set, which includes two non-Atmos speakers. This gives me some fleeting hope Sonos may be able to address this limitation via a software update.Have oth
I have been trying to connect a BeoSound 9000 CD Player to a Sonos Amp. First I used a 5 Pin DIN to 2X RCA male cable to connect the BeoSound AUX to the Line In on the Sonos Amp. Just got very faint sound even with the volume turned all the way up. Checked on this Forum and realized the cable I had was probably wired for Line Out and the faint sound was cross talk between the pins on the DIN socket on the BeoSound.Next, I used a Kenable 5 Pin Male Din Plug to 4 x RCA Phono Male Plugs Audio Cable that I bought from Amazon. I used the black RCA plug in the left Line In channel and the yellow RCA plug in the right Line In channel on the Amp. I have tried the DIN plug in the AUX socket and the second Powerlink socket designed for connecting powered B&O speakers to the BeoSound. No sound out of the AUX socket. with the DIN in the Powerlink socket, I get mono sound only out of some components of my Sonos system but not the speakers or sub connected to the Amp the BeoSound is connec
For home theatre surround sound. I currently have the arc and 2 subs…. i just bought the sub today on my way to work, i have yet to install it… i have an open layout… living room and kitchen is all open space, pretty big space… ill put up pictures later so u can have a better idea… im having trouble on where to place the 2 back speakers though, i dont want stands and my only option i feel is towards the back walls that face the tv… my concern is that they might be too far back and i wont achieve the proper sound.Idk if i should get the fives or the 300s though.... i asked the employee at best buy and he didnt hesitate to say the 5s… when i researched ive seen mostly pictures of people having the 300s in their recent purchases for surround sound, so now im conflicted. What do u guys recommend?
I use Samsung Smart Things to turn on my smart tv, without a soundbar connected everything works perfectly - the TV turns on / offAs soon as I connect the soundbar through the ARC port with Anynet+ turned on, the TV stops turning on, not only through Smart Things, but also with the help of Google Assistant in the soundbar itself. What could be the problem?
I would like to add additional sonos products that will allow audio output in my fitness room. Currently my setup includes arc, sub 3, 2 era 300 speakers and an port in the family room. I would like to tie in an sonos speaker and/or soundbar or other product that will allow me to play the audio from my treadmill and rower. Also to play audio from the TV and DVD player. All while being connected to the main sonos system. What would be the sonos product or products that can cover my fitness room needs. Thank you
HiDoes anyone know if either of the above services have more Dolby Atmos tracks than the other? I'm an Amazon girl but wonder if Apple have more tracks?
hi,have ARC connected via 2.4Ghz(only uses 2.4Ghz) if i purchase a sub mini can i use the 5Ghz or does it have to be the same 2.4Ghz ?.thanks
Hi allHaving switched to Sonos, My collection of Logitech squeezeboxes has been sold. I now have a Sonos unit, which I adore, but I'm itching to upgrade to a beam. The question is if I will detect a noticeable improvement over my Yamaha YHT S400, which is ten years old. Side-by-side listening comparisons will be challenging, if not impossible.I appreciate it.
I am beyond done with my Sonos Roam. It has always had issues connecting and staying connected to my network. I have experienced the same issue with Bluetooth. Every month or so I try it again but to no avail. I will step through the troubleshooting process – restarting the device and ultimately my router. Nothing works these days. It shows up in my Sonos app as not connected, and after all the troubleshooting I’m told to try again another time.I spent hours on the phone with Sonos support early on. They admitted this is a known problem that they are working to fix. It’s been close to a year and still no progress. I could not return or exchange it because I got it from Best Buy and discovered it’s uselessness after the return window. IMO, Sonos should not be selling defective products period. I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so in an effort to warn others. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
Sorry I am new to the world of Sonos.. just bought a house that has a compete sinks system. I want to input sound from a firestick. What I thought I would do is get a hdmi splitter that outputs a RC cables. Then purchase a Sonos PORT which then would allow that sound to be broadcast on all the other sonos speakers . Is this correct ??
