Looking for a 2025 response - I have managed to use an extender to have one room in my kitchen while the rest connect to the router. For a variety of reasons I am considering trying a Powerline Extender (Netgear to be the same as my other devices). I would switch the extender into Access Point mode. I should then have the same single network SSIDs (not new ones from the Extender). I am thinking this should help if the Powerline works. Live in a cement house so can add ethernet easily. I read many posts from years ago and wondering if anything has change or any views on this in today’s world with the current S2 app etc. Thanks in advance.
I put a DVD on last week and the sound coming out of the Playbar is fantastic [as an aside i have a Beam attached to the tv in the other room and the Playbar sounds so much better] I then tried to add in the two Play 1 [set up in stereo mode in the kitchen] speakers I have to the Playbar so i could continue hearing the soundtrack to the dvd whilst cooking in the kitchen. However the sound on the playbar continued fine but the Play 1’s kept dropping the sound every few seconds I tested it by changing the sound to my Sonos Roam - unticked the Play 1 and ticked the Sonos Roam Same effect - sound dropping from the roam but the playbar held the sound no problem can anyone tell me what is happening here ?
So, seems other people have had the same issues. Trying to log into my app and control my system. I’d like to play my music. App keeps asking to log into. Then says it wants to connect to the website to log into. When I do it takes me to their store not my account. Going back to app it asks me to sign in. I have existing devices but they don’t all show and asks me again to sign in. Yet the app also shows I’m signed in. Every time I try to sign out it’s jumps to an error and timed out pop up. Just keeps sending me in circles. The Sonos app has been having major problems for years now. There’s simply no excuse any longer for this mess. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues connecting and maintaining connections. Last time I spent 3-4 hours trying to connect my system. Your speakers sound good. But if you can’t connect they are absolutely worthless. 1000’s of dollars invested in your system and your app is worse then bad. Sick and tired of it. I’m selling everything.
I want to be able to connect a microphone to my era 100. Can someone send me details of what I need to make this happen.
How do I switch internet services on my Sonos system?
one sonos5 gen 1st plays, but there is a ticking sound at the same time and it disrupts playback
I recently bought a Ray to replace the dying iPod my husband had plugged into a Bose dock. I was told he could stream music ripped from CDs that had been loaded onto his cell phone but apparently that’s only the case for an apple phone. We are an android family. I simply want to access the 28 GB music library we have loaded on our computer in the living room on our ray. I don’t want to keep the computer on. I I don’t know that I necessarily want an NAS as I don’t want other files loaded. Just our music. I’ve read about the various NAS drives and am this close to buying a Synology 2-Bay DiskStation DS223j (Diskless) but I know somewhere in my research I read that an external drive plugged into our router (which does allow for the indexing needed) might be easier/less overkill for a music library of our size? Can someone point me in the direction on making this decision?
When I select Everywhere in the app to have all speakers connect. The Arc does not connect while One and OneSL do !??!
I received my Certified Refurbished Beam (Gen 2) on Friday, unpacked it, and from the first launch the speaker keeps disconnecting once in a while and the flashing white light appears. The speaker dissapears from the app, and the sound that was playing lags and stutters until it connects again. I have tried various troubleshooting steps, from configuring the router and separating 2.4GHz and 5GHz, to factory resetting the Beam, to trying to configure it on a different device. I've been on the support chats two times, today in a different country than mine since the chat for my country is not available today, and at the end of it after trying more fixes (including ethernet to router connection which also kept disconnecting once in a while), I've been referred to contact the phone line with the case number they gave me for further help, since they have more tools at their disposal than the chat. After the chat I realized that in my country there's no cell phone number for Sonos so I can't
Just awful. Can't wait to stop using it. Pos
We have had Sonos speakers for several years, but we keep losing connectivity and have to reset everything. We have a Google mesh system throughout the house, so WiFi is not the issue. We are ready to throw it all out, it’s a horrible experience. How do we fix this?
Hi! Does anyone know if Sonos will ever implement the ability to save volume settings? I balance out speakers throughout the house and then someone uses it making all speakers the same level. Additionally, the ability to have custom presets for the volume would be ideal - Dance Party, Background music, etc., where there are different expectations and volume balance between each speaker and room. This would be easy enough to implement even if it’s a locally stored settings file. Oldest post I found bout this is seven years old, and there are hundreds of others, so clearly not a priority even though it’s a whole home system. Thoughts?
Hie everyoneI have a TV samsung, no 3.5 jack nor Bluethoot, it has HDMI arc and Optical audio, I have Era 300, I tried an adapter USCB-C to HDMI, it does not works, any idea how to sent audio from TV to Era 300?
Peut-on utiliser le sonos Era 300 uniquement en Bluetooth si le wifi de ma box internet est en panne?puis-je l’utiliser en Bluetooth si je la place chez un ami, pour la soirée ?
my Sonos has become so glitchy. It is almost unusable. It goes in and out all the time. Sometimes I get three songs in a row with no problem sometimes I can’t get one song in a row with no problems sometimes certain connect amps sync up sometimes times they don’t I’ve reset routers. I’ve unplugged all the systems. I’ve been having this problem that keeps getting worse. I have six Sonos connect amps a Sonos move and two Sonos play bars. Please help me
I got a new router. I’ve managed to set up my newer products (beam, sub etc) using the Sonos app and WiFi. However I just can’t get the play 5 gen 1 to connect. I’ve followed everything on the S1 app. Connecting over WiFi it stalls after “join Sonos network”. connecting with Ethernet cable it stalls on “hear the chime”. The play 5 chimes but the app doesn’t recognise it. it was working fine on my previous virgin wifi, but just can’t get it going on new Vodafone power hub. The hub output seems to be 2.4hz. please can anyone help?
My Boost has recently died, forcing everything onto my home wi-fi (it seems my Move will share it’s Wi-Fi settings with the rest of the system). Before I realised my Boost was dead I have struggled for months with the Sonos system - every time I used it different speakers were missing and even the ones that did appear would rarely work correctly. Voice assistants have been awful. Now I learn that new Sonos products like the Era 100 and Era 300 don’t use SonosNet!Given the truly atrocious performance of my Sonos system on my home Wi-Fi I cannot believe that future Sonos products are not going to have the option to use SonosNet (mine was rock solid for over a decade - never any problems). Is it possible that Sonos are going to drop the use of SonosNet entirely? If so, I’m afraid they have lost me as a customer.
The app is on Iphone. Pretty sure it never used to do this.
… and yes I have reinstalled the whole system and yes it’s all on one wi-fi network. It’s better than it was a year ago, but it still poops the bed regularly. Is it going to get any better, or is this Sonos now?
No one seems able to help me with this on a Sunday, but I’m trying to migrate all my Sonos speakers from one WiFi network to another. I’ve been on the Chat with several agents for hours. Evert time starting the whole sorry tale over- Chat Bot to real person. One agent told me to unplug the router. Great! So the chat disconnects and start and I over yet again. I live with both dyslexia and dyscalculia, but no alliance is made for this. We are changing our broadband provider from Sky (due to cost and poor speeds) to Pkusnet (will be full fibre etc). To take advantage of the speeds from day one, I have purchased a TO Deco mesh system (3 units) I have the first plugged by Ethernet into the Sky (for now) router. The new WiFi network works perfectly. All WiFi tech is able to join (desktops, iPads, android and Apple phones etc). Now comes the problem. In the Sonos app I was able to get the Beam to join the new network and a SL in a different room. However, very long stor
Hi everyone, I have a Sonos Playbar that shows a solid white light immediately after plugging in the power (not flashing). Nothing else happens — it doesn’t boot or respond. I connected a JTAG interface and it only outputs “NAND Boot…”. It seems like the u-boot bootloader might be corrupted or not starting properly. Has anyone encountered this issue before or managed to recover a Playbar in this state?Would it be possible to reflash the u-boot using a programmer, and if so, what tools or procedure would be needed? Thanks in advance for any help or advice!
One of my era 300 is set up, it works fine, the sound is ok, but the indicator light flashes very quickly (green and orange) randomly, also when this happens, it happens with a sound like a click when the color changes.
I have a play 1 upstairs and a play 1 downstairs. I've had them for years with no problem but then the downstairs one wouldn't update. I've went through all the help advice, reset the play 1, linked with cable and nothing is working. I've phoned sonos who are no help and said I need to phone virgin media. Has anyone had this problem and was able to sort it, thanks 😊
I wanted to share my recent experience with the Era 300 and hopefully get some visibility from the Sonos team. My original Era 300 was purchased brand new, but it developed the common grill separation issue that many users have reported. Sonos support agreed to replace it, but I was surprised and honestly disappointed to learn that they were sending a certified refurbished unit as the replacement — even though my original unit was only a few months old and was a brand-new retail purchase. I tried to stay optimistic, but unfortunately the certified refurbished unit I received also arrived with a defect. The top/back grill is noticeably misaligned and does not sit flush with the housing. For a product labeled “certified refurbished,” this type of cosmetic flaw should not make it through quality inspection. So at this point, I’ve received two defective units in a row: my original brand-new Era 300 the certified refurbished replacement Sonos has sent me a return label for the refurb, but
