Dropouts after moving speakers

I have 8 devices and mostly the system is robust.  However, for parties I may take a couple of speakers from upstairs and place them downstairs to provide full house ground floor coverage and play them grouped together.

Never seems to work.  Some of the speakers seem to play for a minute or two and then stop and then randomly start and stop again.

I am all Wi-Fi and all updates been done

Pay 5 Gen 2 Stereo pair with Sub, Era 100, Move Gen 1, Play 1 and 2 x Sonos 1

Are there still app issues with grouping?

Wifi and lots of people crammed together is not a successful combination - does the problem also happen when you test the system when there’s nobody around except yourself?

Check the Networking section of your Settings  it gives a status of your connection there.

Happens all the time, but I do have an update.   The same problem also happens when I group ‘everywhere’ i.e. all speakers,

Yesterday  I had Sky TV engineers in to sort out some problems with my multi-room minibox losing satellite signal. He chucked everything at it,  New Q box, 2 new boosters etc. and spent 2 hours.  One think he did was to split the 2.4 and 5 Gig frequencies into seperates.  So now Sky can use the 5GHz and not interfere with Sonos using the 2.4Ghz range.

This sent Sonos into a tailspin, especially after I turned my phone to the 5Ghz wifi temporarily.

Everything disappeared and wouldn’t come back. Eventually a full power recycle recovered everything but took hours !

ANYWAY, BACK TO TOPIC.

I was testing this morning and the dropouts happened again when grouping.  One speaker didnt even show anymore and that carried on playing - had to power off !

So I restarted and set the main Stereo Pair/Sub playing and then added 1 speaker at a time, leaving 5 minutes or so before moving to the next one.  All worked fine until the 6th and last speaker, THE MOVE (Gen 1).   As soon as I added it, drop outs everywhere, all products disappeared from the app (came back l8r).

Reset and repeated the exercise with the same results.

The MOVE is the culprit.

Might take the trade in for a gen 2
