I finally got round to getting my parents Sonos system around their house. Its working very well, with one exception : the Sonos Port. It is set up and registered in the Sonos app, with a CD player connected to the line-in connection on the Port. However, I cannot find the right command to play the Sonos Port source via one of the Era 100 speakers. The Port is in the "Lounge" and the line-in on it is called "CD Player", and the Era 100 is in the "Kitchen". I've tried commands like; "Hey Sonos, play music from the CD Player in the Kitchen" "Hey Sonos, play music from the Lounge in the Kitchen" "Hey Sonos, play music from the CD Player in the Lounge on the Kitchen" I've googled, and there isn't much on guidance on the right voice commands to use, and I've looked in the app and cannot seem to get them to work. I can combine the two sources in the app, but the CD Player music still does not play in the Kitchen. Can anyone give me some guidance on this? I feel like I am missing something
While I love the sound of my Sonos, I’m at wits end with it. Without fail it will lose connectivity to either one set or another. Everything is connected to a single network that is always on. But still, ‘we can’t find your system’, restart everything, restart your router, start the $%#@ over. So every week or two I have to set everything back up. Anyone having this issue and find a fix?The routine basically ends up with me having to do factory resets and then put the system together again. This will last for anything between a few days and a few weeks.Would greatly appreciate any help!!
Hi, Why sonos did not put a optical input behind the sonos five devices instead of a 3.5 jack analogic. Analogic create a lip sync delay since opital cable does not. I need to buy a sound bar because that issue.
I recently put my small Sonos system in place on our patio: a Roam that lives outside in a dock in the warmer months paired with an Amp that is hooked into to Sonance speakers. Its a simple system and we are really happy with the audio quality from it.The reason we wanted the Roam paired with the Amp was to give voice control to the system. In a paired group we get exactly what we wanted. Only trouble comes when the power goes out, we have to go back into the amp and manually pair the devices again. I have seen a few posts of users with similar problems. Is there some kind of permanent solution to this? Overall we are very happy with our system, this is one of the few frustrations we have had.A couple of threads I saw:Keep device groups after power cycle | Sonos CommunityKeep the group after a power loss | Sonos Community
Hey all - Just got my Era 100s and working on setting two up as a stereo pair. I have the line in adapter connected to one and am attempting to adjust the delay setting from 2000ms to 75ms in the Sonos app, but when I choose 75ms, the checkmark just jumps back to 2000ms. I’ve deleted and re-installed the app, power cycled the speakers, adjusted the source level setting, nothing seems to make a difference.
Hey everyone,I’m planning to buy a pair of Sonos Five that I will dedicate to music only.I want to connect both speakers to my TV but how is it possible with only 1 jack 3.5mm port on my TV ?I’ve also read on the forum that these speakers are not meant to be connected to a TV as it can cause some delays. Is it a big issue in my case ? I will listen DJ sets from YouTube mainly, will it be noticeable ? Will the sound quality be affected ?I do not want to buy a Sonos soundbar as I already have a Samsung one connected to this TV that I dedicate only for moviesI was thinking of a solution but I don’t know if it’s a good one : Buying a Sonos AMP that I will use to connect my TV through arc and Sonos Five speakers through wifi ? Is it possible ? (it might be a very expensive solution tho… if it’s working) Thanks for your help
I’m in China. My Roam broken but still in Warranty period,So I return it to the manufacturer for exchange according to the instructions on the 400 phone number, but nobody connect me, So I ask express delivery company help to contact, and support replied my email and asked me to wait at 19th.Jul。Today is 23th.Aug, I have sent a lot emails to ask support to reply, but no answer, so I call 400 Complaints Hotline, Shorkingly 400 ask me to sent email to suppoty! The same person I have contacted many times! Endless loop!!!support will never reply email, nor leave any phone number!I don’t know how to deal with, my child really miss his Sonos, but it seems never will come back. Can any other colleagues help me contact support?THANKS A LOT Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
The spouse uninstalled and installed the Sonos and during that process the upgrade to S2 happened and I did not want that to happen. GRRRRR As my play 5 is not compatiable. So, I’ve moved on from that situation/frustration and have decided to continue to use S2 instead of S1 after resetting most of my speaker/sub/boost (which is a lot) and trying to downgrade back to S1. This is where the frustration turns to Sonos! This should not be that difficult. On the to problem:In my effort to rebuild my Sonos environments/rooms in S2 there are two speakers that were working just the day before the spouse unknowingly updated everything to S2 that will not connect to my S2. The reason they are not connecting is because they will not reset…. I follow the steps as I did with the numerous other speakers; however, these two will not turn to flashing green - I still tried to add them anyway and S2 does pick them up and goes through the step to add them only to have a hard stop at the speaker s
I consider to buy Sonos 1 sl to set up a multi room system in my Appartement.i want to fix the Sonos on the ceiling. Do you now if the “standard”wall support are ok for this of so I need to buy special support ? Thanks
I tried a search but couldn’t quite get what I was looking for, so quick question if I may. I have house full of Sonos gear (Arc, 4xPlay1’s, Play 3, Gen3 sub, 2xRoams, and a new Port), however I also have a Yamaha amp, turntable (with external pre-amp) and two wired speakers. I’d like to be able to connect that system to the Sonos sub. Is this possible using the Port. I just can’t get my head around if / how it could work. I’m happy to connect the turntable to the Port if that works somehow.
I purchased two Moves with the intent of creating a stereo pair of portable speakers. Fine on WiFi. Bluetooth is a whole different story. I should have paid closer attention to the specifications - specifically the FAQ. The whole point of getting two Moves was to take my music outside and on the road where there is no WiFi. I am very disappointed in Sonos at the moment. There is an old guideline in product design/development: if you can’t do something fully and completely to what the average customer will expect, don’t do it until you can. To the Sonos engineers and product management folks: engineering a pair of speakers to work as a stereo pair over bluetooth is very possible and has been accomplished many times. I have a pair of very high quality JBL Flip4s which work nicely in stereo mode while connected to my phone in Bluetooth mode. They do this by pairing the streaming device to one of the speakers and then connecting the two speakers to each other so that the one drives the oth
I have 8 Sonos products all first generation (Play1,Play 3,Play 5, Connect etc) as well as one Sonos 1 speaker. I use a Sonos 1 Controller and am satisfied. My Sonos 1 was reconfigured so I can use my Sonos 1 Controller. My wifi was recently changed and my question is: If I factory reset all my speakers except for the Sonos 1, when I get connected to the new wifi can I then add the Sonos 1 without having to factory reset it. I ask this because I think if I factory reset the Sonos 1 it will revert back to it’s original configuration (which will not work with my Sonos 1 Controller. Please advise.
Hi,I currently have a Rega Planar 3, Rega MK5, integrated amp, and Polk R200s. I am looking at the Port so I can connect to other Sonos speakers in my house. However, if I don't want to connect to the other Sonos speakers, is it possible to disable the Sonos Port and have the analog signal maintained to my Polks?
I recently installed several era 100 units for a client. They are all connected to Alexa. 50% of the time when I tell Alexa to play something on a era100, I can see in the Sonos app the music change and start playing but I have no sound. I have to press pause, play in the Sonos app for it to have sound. It’s doing this on all the era100 units. Any ideas? Never encountered this before.
Sometime in the future, I am contemplating either getting a Sonos One SL to pair with my Sonos One - or a single Sonos Era 100. See question above.
Hi guys,I´ve been searching internet for almost a year now and I still can´t find anyone who sells the-best-for-my-daughter´s-room speaker, which I believe to be Play:1. I don´t expect it to be new of course, fairly used and treated will do. Can you point me to a right direction or maybe you sell one yourself?I live in Czech Republic (Czechia now).Let me know, thanks!JJ
So I have had my Era 300 since about April and intially I took a 3 month trial of Amazon musicWas not impressed in the method of finding and identifying Spatial music which is done through the Sonos app. Now that trial has finished I have taken a 2 month trial on Apple musicUnlike Amazon Music there does not appear to be a way of identifying which albums are in Dolby Atmos.Am I missing something. I really was looking forward to this experience and although I love the sound of the Era 300 I find it difficult to find Dolby Atmost music. Am I? Am I missing something?
Why is Sonos such a piece of * system now. I have owes Sonos speakers for several years. In the beginning it was an easy simple set-up and the system was reliable! Every time I plugged in my speakers they were recognized and connected instantaneously. Last year I purchased two more SL speakers to go along with my S1 speakers. They worked fine last summer. Now I cannot connect at all to amy of my speakers. The app tells me that it can not find product or I need to unplug the speaker or I need to reset my WiFi router. Hours upon hours spent to reconnect the same speakers I have been using for years? How could this be - what is so difficult about connecting a speaker to WiFi. How many damn times do I need to unplug my router in order to get these stupid things to work?Sonos has become just like every other Technology company. Keep creating more products and keep changing technology in order to earn as much profit as possible! It is disgusting. In the beginning they just had a
(8/1/23) So I took an offer -for Sonos subscribers- for a 3 month trial of TuneIn Premium. Just by going to services and adding the new Sonos API for TuneIn. There are currently two Tunein API’s I am obviously referring to the one titled “Tunein (New)”.One thing I like about the new Tune API for Sonos is the log in access that has all my favorites (and family favorites) by folder -yes we do listen to a lot of international and niche radio, alt, indie, etc.The bad part (and pain point) as I let Tunein know via Twitter (or X) DM, is that none of the BBC radio stations were working on their Sonos API, including my daily favorite BBC6 “6 Music”. When I was re-adding my Sonos favorites through the Tunein (New) API I made the (so regretful) error of removing BBC6 (the one with the old Tunein API) and guess what? BBC 6 now does not work on old or new Tunein APIs! ...only via airplay (or chromecast) which to me defeats the point, deplete’s phone battery and add little steps plus possible inter
We have an older Sonos Play:1 speaker that I bought for my wife a few years ago, which she uses to play her music (MP3s converted from her CDs) from the SD Card of her Android phone. This has always been our only use for this device, with no interest in streaming services beyond occasional linear radio station listening. We disabled Android app updates via the Play Store a couple of months ago in order to block Sonos's stated intent to deliberately break our purchased product by preventing local file playback, and this seemed to be working fine until fairly recently. What I think has happened is the firmware in the speaker itself has somehow been updated, the result being that all of our phones are now insisting that we need to also update the apps before it will continue - which of course is the last thing we want to do!Web browser interface status report for the Play:1 speaker shows:SoftwareVersion 74.0-43110BuildType releaseSWGen 2SoftwareDate 2023-07-11 16:10:46.995094MinCompatibleVe

I’ve recently changed broadband from sky to community broadband and I’m having difficulty connecting my speakers to the network, can anyone advise?
We just got a new wifi setup, with a new network name. I opened the app on my iPhone and followed the “let’s fix this” instructions per https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network?language=en_US .. I picked one device to reconnect (a Sonos One), pressed the button per instructions, allowed my phone to connect to a “SONOS” wi-fi network, per instructions, and… Nothing. My phone says “can’t connect to network SONOS” or something to that effect. My Sonos setup is already messed up because of a PC reconfiguration, and now my speakers are utterly unusable.
I have just bought nice tall and deep bedside tables for the lamps (the lamps sound much better on these rigid wooden cabinets than the previous flimsy metal ones). I am considering permanently fixing them to the tables, so there is no chance to accidentally knock them off. I just wondered it there was an optimal distance to place them from the wall. I appreciate the sound is modified / enhanced by setting them up with truetone, but if I position them correctly in the first place, sound should be even better. Thanks
