See attached of the opening underneath the TV which was designed for another playbar - its opening is 5" in height. Therefore, currently the only placement option is laying flat. Will this work if placed at the edge of the opening? It has 11" space on each side.
This question is about the need for a Boost. If I hard wired my Play5 into a port on one of my wireless (not hard wired) orbi Satellites, will this do the exact same thing as a boost? Thus I will not need the boost. I'm not sure because of the satellite being wireless. Where the boost will be hard wired into the router.
I have spoken to a clever guy at Sevenoaks sound and vision and explained my problem and tested the playbase in the shop .He did a factory reset and a hard wire set .This found the chime but the playbase would not find the controller .So they exchanged it for a new one .What he said was that the software which updates the Sonos system is not always compatible with the controllers and might need a hardware set . Sonos need to get their software compatible after updates .It would appear in my case even after all this the play base was faulty .
Is it possible?
Classical FM Toronto 96.3 is not working through tunein on my Sonos speakers
Can anyone help me to set up my Sonos one speaker so it can communicate with echo dot speakers in other places in the home?
the amp wouldn't connect. using my iphone x, went through the steps... all good, press and release the 2 buttons... then it times out. does,t connect. so after messing with it for a while, i moved on to a play:1.... connected just fine and plays music great... did the 2nd play:1, and it is having the same problem as the AMP. they are plugged directly into my router, and when i pull up my router's UI from my PC, i see all 3 devices connected to the network. i tried unplugging them for a while and trying again. i have tried restarting my router. Can both be broke? Are they just buggy. why would one of the 3 devices work fine and instantly and the other 2 not work at all. feels they cant both be defective? thanks for any help!
In my living room I have a pair of Play 5s, a sub and a playbar. Is it possible to set it up so when I watch TV I use the playbar and the sub and when I listen to music I use the Play 5s and the sub. So far all I can figure out is to have all of them play with music and with TV.
I bought a Play:5 several years ago and wanted to create a stereo pair, so I just bought a 2nd Play:5, not knowing my first 5 was a gen 1 and the newest 5 was gen 2 and apparently you cannot pair them. Is there any way around this? Very disappointed. May end up returning the newest PLAY:5 if there is no solution.
I'm having a New Year's Eve party and plan to play music outside. The temperature is expected to be minus 18 Celsius and minus 28 with wind chill. I have a single play one that I'm going to have outside against the building under an overhang so it won't get any snow on it. What are my odds of this speaker surviving 8 to 10 hours outside in these conditions?
I have just got sonos play. Can I plug in my iPhone directly into the speaker.
Can the play1 be completely powered off or disconnected from my wifi network? It seems wasteful for it to be on/connected 24 hours a day.
Dear Sonos, I have bought 2x play 1 for in the living room. I want connect the speakers to my Samsung smart tv, is this possible? As I just graduated I am obviously not going to spend a lot of money to buy another Sonos system. If there is no other way, I suggest you figure something out to connect the sonos play 1 to the tv, otherwhise you will lose another customer. To be honest, I can think of a billion ways to make it work. Best regards, Bram
Brand new Play 5 using in my living room to replace the Play 1. I have to turn it up to about 75% to get a decent listening volume. I can easily have a conversation with someone with it turned up this high and my Play 1 seems much louder from the same source. Is this thing defective? Unimpressed.+
Play 5 wifi chip went bad
I have recently started having an issue where some tracks will not play with the error "track not encoded correctly". I have moved my Sonos Bridge away from my wireless router to see if this helps, and although response times are a lot quicker I am still unable to play some music. I have generated a diagnostic report - 4066834. The issue only seems to have started when I installed a new router, so it is very possible that this is causing interference due to the signal being better. My bridge is hard-wired to the router so I have probably moved it as far as I am able. Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Do I need to worry about this? https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/27/16822816/sonos-bose-speakers-hijacked-play-ghostly-sounds
I recently purchased this outdoor speaker: https://www.amazon.com/Innovative-Technology-Bluetooth-Speakers-Rechargable/dp/B00UMVVU8S Is it possible to connect this to my sonos system (wirelessly). I have a sonos connect
New to wireless speakers, still deciding between Sonos, Bose or Heos (favouring Sonos). One big disappointment is not being able to use wireless speakers with any of them. I saw in specifications that not even the output for cabled headphones, on Sonos or Heos. This can't possibly be true can it?
iOS Music App I am considering a Sonos Play 1 but I am not interested in their app. I would like to use the iOS builtin music app, or iTunes from my laptop. From what I can tell the Sonos app does not even update the play counts or the time of last time of play on the songs I’m listenting to. I am also not interested in streaming music. Most of these streaming services don’t allow you to stream at full audio lossless quality (I am aware of the bandwidth constraints and I’m not willing to compress my music as a trade off for using less bandwidth). I have all my music on my laptop and some on my iPhone encoded in lossless format. I would like to just plug in my phone into the speaker and play using an aux input sometimes. Wireless at other times. 50/50 split between the two. Airplay would support the wireless use case since I don’t want to use the Sonos app, but it doesn’t like the play 1 supports air play. I am starting to think this speaker is just not made for this kind of use case
Hi I have just recently bought sonos play 1 and at night in the bedrooms the led glows, however it does turn off when the system goes to standby some hours later. Can the system be put in to standby sooner?
Hi, When I listen to the radio (Tunein) on Sonos, I sometimes get what I would describe as a sort of stuttering, which is particularly noticeable on long-held musical notes. I have a Sonos Connect linked to a Cyrus stereo, where it is acute, but it is also noticeable on my Play1 (now that I am listening for it) Powering down the Sonos system and restarting seems to address the issue, so I'm inclined to think it is not broadband performance. If I switch to another music service, such as Google-play, I don't get the issue. Also, streaming from my local library across the LAN doesn't exhibit the problem either. I've tried copying the native streaming links from the BBC and adding my own radio station, but I get the same issue. I listen to a mix of BBC Radio 6 and 2. Any ideas or help gratefully received. Cheers Mark
Hi Suddenly the play 5 doesn’t connect anymore. The white light stays on but i cannot find the speaker anymore. The play 1 is still connected and works fine
Is it ok to turn off my Sonos One every night? It’s designed to be left on right? The OCD in me wants to save electricity each night.
Moving speakers from one room to another.
