I have spoken to a clever guy at Sevenoaks sound and vision and explained my problem and tested the playbase in the shop .He did a factory reset and a hard wire set .This found the chime but the playbase would not find the controller .So they exchanged it for a new one .What he said was that the software which updates the Sonos system is not always compatible with the controllers and might need a hardware set . Sonos need to get their software compatible after updates .It would appear in my case even after all this the play base was faulty .

I now have the same issue!! Can you guys help?
I "lost" my playbase. Worked fine in November but following the GA of last Beta it disappeared from controller and I am no longer able to use it at all. I have all the other speakers in living room (SUB + Play1 Left+ Play1 Right) but no playbase. performed factory reset and remain unable to even add playbase into controller again.
