Had the Sonos Arc working for a month without any issues using hdmi arc3 on a Sony tv. Randomly today it dropped a the sound and no longer plays tv audio. music services etc all work without any issues. no tv Audi. app shows a fault in the hdmi setup. connected multiple cables. Nothing. Rebooted nothing.
I have the Sonos Arc, sub and play ones connected via eArc to my Samsung TV. When I first got it there was an audio/video delay so I changed the output setting on my tv (the only options are PCM, Passthrough and Auto). It was originally on auto when I was having the delay issues so my question is, what is the best option for my Sonos Arc? PCM or Passthrough? And if anybody could explain the difference to me (preferably in dumbed down terms) I would appreciate it. Will I get fully supported surround sound from both? I’m only using our Xfinity cable box. Thanks!
I have 5 sons one speakers, one doesn't want to play thru airplay from an ATV 2nd gen. Its shows itself on the airplay speaker list and can be selected but only goes for a second or two before pausing video and audio. The speaker works fine with all other airplay devices and later generation ATV 3 & 4 gen. Maybe the sonos one is not compatible with this older version of TVos???
Hi All,I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Arc + Sub combo (I’ve got backorder blues for sure), but I would like to prepare for it by mounting my TV and getting the Arc wall mount and an Echogear in-wall cabling solution installed over the next couple of weekends.I’ll be mounting the TV and Arc above a 31” tall media cabinet, and I’d like to have the bottom of the Arc as close to flush with the top of the cabinet as possible. I can’t seem to find any official information on clearance required by the Arc beyond the bottom of the wall mount.Images in this excellent post make it appear that the bottom of the Arc is pretty much flush with the bottom of the mount, but can someone confirm that? Thanks!
I’ve only had my Sonos Arc and Sub(Gen3) for two days and I noticed something that I can’t explain. Temporarily I have my old PS3 hooked up to play DVD and Blu-Rays and I noticed when I play a Blu-Ray and check the Sonos S2 app, under about system, it shows audio output as only PCM 2.0 but the sound is full and the sub is working so I think I’m getting 5.1 despite the readout on the app. I tried both bitstream and LPCM on the PS3 but the app still reads PCM 2.0. Also, when I played an old DVD (Independence Day) I found that Bitstream produced a much better sound than LPCM and the Sonos app said Multichannel PCM 5.1. Could someone please help me understand this, I expected Blu-Rays to show 5.1 as well. Could it be the PS3 or a bug in the app? Thank you for any light you can shed.
I have a BenQ HT3550 projector on the way and am unsure whether I can properly connect it to a Sonos system (One, sub, arc). The BenQ site makes it read as thought it can (https://www.benq.com/en-us/knowledge-center/knowledge/how-to-connect-external-audio-to-your-benq-projector.html#S2). Scenario 4 would seem to apply to me since my Sony UHD Blu ray player has 2 HDMI ports (Sony - UBP-X800M2 - ) with the sound being routed to the Sonos via bluray (am not using the projector for gaming or cable). But I want to make sure the speaker config works as intended. Thanks!
Hi, I had the same issue 8 Sound interruptions and eArc (Auto) not working. I live in Austria so I have the European firmware. Do you you know if the issue is update ot fixed. Since 4 days my e-arc works with the SONOS Arc and the Samsung Frame 65 (2020). I just made a litte change on my setting. I always had the arc connected via WIFI, and the Frame via LAN cable. Because i had not enough outputs, i bought a switch and connected everything through the switch. So, SONOS Arc an Samsung Frame are connected on the switch via LAN cable. And now it works. eArc is enabled on AUTO and I have since 4 Days no sound interruptions. No idea why :) I don’t know why it works now, bit it does. Maybe someone has news.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for controlling Sonos without using a smartphone or a tablet? For example using the ‘Google Nest Hub’. I did read you can only do very basic commands and not full functionality like the Sonos App (searching, picking music, etc.).The reason I am asking is we want to give both our kids Sonos speakers as well but find both to young for smartphones or tablets to be in their room as a control device. I can limit internet access for the tablet and use-time, etc.. but it goes beyond that and is quite a uphill battle to get things to work well then. We also tried things like turning an ipad in or requesting use of it it. But that's even more of a hassle and error-proof. They are getting to be inbetween the age they can and cannot handle digital media well and aren’t supervised the entire time. My daughter just wants privacy in her own room, read or play, dance, etc. without a parent being there the entire time. But give them a digital device and you en
I recently bought a pair of the Sanus stands for my One SLs but noticed that the power cable can only exit the back of the stand. I plan on putting these behind my sofa that is open to the rest of the room on the back. I want to push the stands partially under the back of the sofa and would like the power cable to come out the front of the stand rather than the back so I can hide the cables under the couch. Before I take back the Sanus stands, does anyone know if any stands have an option to change where the cable exits on the base? Flexson or the Sonos brand maybe?
Will a Western Digital My Cloud Home work to play my MP3 music, on our Sonos One/SL stereo pair set up which is controlled by a Amazon Alexa Echdot. Looking at maybe at getting a 2tb version. Don’t need it for anything else, at present all my music is on pc, and I use iPlayer to put it on our iPod a touch devices. Is there anything I should know about the WD my cloud, is it easy to set up with a Sonos, bearing in mind my skills are limited with computers. Any other suggestions or help appreciated.
I want to ship Sonos as a gift, but there is not gift wrap option and I want to make sure the box doesn’t say what it is...
I need a 3m long hdmi cable for my ARC to replace the 1.5m one that came with it to reach other equipment. I think I've read somewhere that Sonos supply these or would an after market high speed one do just as well?
This is more me being a bit of a neat-freak, but I have been using Sonos for a pretty long time and where I was able to trade in most of my systems my old Controller 100 keeps being listed as being an part of my current setup. I understand I cannot trade it in probably due to it’s age. But is there a way to get it out of ones system (I cannot fire it up anymore, it truly is dead, not even sure where I stored it). This obviously is something only in my Sonos account on the Sonos website. So it’s like the most minor thing ever. But if I can clean it up :)
Is there a way to turn off a Sonos system remotely when you are out of town? My hubs was partying at our beach house and forgot to turn off the outdoor speakers last night. Neighbors were pissed.
Hello, I moved from Singapore to France and bring my Sonos setup (Beam + One + One SL) purchased there with me.I was able to setup the 2 One, but not the Beam. (I did a hard reset for all oh them)I already tried couple of time to reset and restart the process, but the Beam always failed at the « account registration », and finally tell me to contact the support…Any Idea ?
My television is currently 100 ft away from the Roku it uses. There is a single HDMI cable run between them. It’s really not possible to run another cable that distance. Can I run an HDMI splitter from the Roku where one HDMI is the existing cable going to the TV and the other one runs to a Sonos AMP sitting right beside the Roku? If so, are there any special considerations cable wise?
Trying to Calibrate the Sonos ARC and sub with the Sonos 2 app. Nothing on the app about calibration or Trueplay.Thank you
During the day, I usually have a playlist from my library setup to play in three rooms -- Office, Kitchen and Master Bedroom. Around supper we usually pause that playlist, and then watch TV. At bedtime, I have another alarm (do not include grouped rooms) that is set to trigger a playlist in the Master Bedroom only that plays a small “silent” playlist, basically in order to clear the queue (since my other automation s/w seems to ADD to the playlist, but that’s another issue) before my 10:00pm “Night Night” playlist starts. Whenever this 1 minute alarm triggers, the other two rooms start up again and continue playing where they left off. Obviously this isn’t what I want.I can fully replicate this on demand so it isn’t just a fluke.Any ideas on this “bug”?My systems consist of this…Associated Product: 192.168.1.181---------------------------------Play:3: KitchenSonos OS: S2Version: 12.2.1 (build 61183170)Hardware Version: 1.8.1.3-1.2Series ID: A100---------------------------------Play:
I have 2 new One speakers and have added them to my sonos system as a pair. I am trying to add them as surround sound to my playbar but the app does not recognize them for surround sound. They work fine as a pair of stereo speakers in the room but I got them to add for surround sound. Any suggestions?
Just have my first sonos speaker, the move. Thinking of buying a sound bar, a suband another move. Can I play 2 move speaker as seround speakers in 5.1?

Hey, Just bought a Sonos speaker for my daughter and I, but she set it up, and now when I connect to the speaker, under "my Sonos" all her favorit channels are shown on my device as well. Can we some how have our own "my Sonos" (one for each of us) or are we bound to have to mix our preferences and my daughter and I to have no privacy in choice of podcasts and music? Thank you all in advance.
I’m considering upgrading from the Sonos Connect but it is not clear to me whether the S2 update enables the Sonos Port to stream high resolution audio via coaxial digital. I would appreciate any feedback from subscribers to the forum.
Currently, I am connecting my PlayBar with TV via digital audio output I am looking for brand new TV. Is it a must that the new TV must have the digital audio output? Can I use the HDMI-ARC to connect my PlayBar with the new TV w/o the digital audio output? For assistance
