So I am new to Sonos. Have always used a Receiver - front, surround and rear speakers. With the Pioneer Elite receiver - I could isolate and hear the test sounds of each individual speakers. Now with the ARC soundbar - the front and center speakers are physically in the sound bar. Is there a way to test the working ability of the individual front speakers and the center speaker? ThanksBHB
Hey guys… this may just me being particular… but it seems since the latest upgrade that the center channel is a bit on the low volume side. Seems I have had to turn down the surrounds and raise the volume to have it to really hear voices without being washed out. I have the sub/ones/arc setup. not a huge deal and maybe be just me… but just curious if anyone else may have noticed this. Thanks
I have single-sided deafness so don’t need the full surround sound experience. I would however like to add one single Sonos One to my ARC+Sub Gen 3 setup. The app doesn’t seem to only let you pair surrounds as a pair. Any way to pair just one?
Sometimes like today I got up turned on the TV and tried to play something from my Apple TV which is connected to my Sony X800H tv. The Sony via hdmi and ARC port are connected to my Beam. Several times the app would not see the Beam. Turned iPhone 8 off and on, powered off the tv, the Beam (not in order), using the Sony remote switched to Internal speakers, then to Audio system or external speakers. prior to this morning i had put the Apple tv to sleep, not off, and did not power off the tv. in the middle of all this I wiggled the hdmi cable connection to the Beam. Aftr all that I have audio on my Beam from the Apple Tv app through the Sony ARC port
Please can you confirm for the sonos arc what the following settings should be on for the Sony bravia oled TV with sonos arc and sub:Volume offsetDolby dynamic range (standard or compressed)HE-AAC Dynamic Range (standard or compressed)HE-AAC audio level, if choose compressed A/V Sync Auto/on/offEarc mode auto/offDigital audio help auto 1/auto2/pcmDolby digital plus output (dolby digital plus or dolby digital)Pass through mode Auto/off
Mounted the new Sonos Arc yesterday … sound is amazing. That said, the Arc replaced a Sonos Playbar that fit nicely just under the 75 inch Samsung TV allowing optical and power cable to be pretty much hidden behind the TV itself. Now with the new set up I have a 4 inch gap between the TV and the new Arc with the two cables (power and HDMI) hanging down from the TV to the Arc. As users know the Arc has a specialized flush magnetic mount plate which is pretty slim … so I’ve looked online for solutions but not sure any would work work well with the Arc and be hidden and aesthetically acceptable. Can anyone suggest a workable wall plate or other solution to hide the cables running around 4-5 inches from the TV to the Arc?
After some digging, I found that the Beam’s Audio In: under About My System was blank. The Beam is wired, Sub is wireless. I also have 2 One SLs that are working fine. The Beam plays just fine, but the sub doesn’t. I ran a diag as well, here it is.1183078865I currently have a mixture of ax and ac access points, so I’m toying with power levels to get everything evened out. I’ve tweaked power settings since taking that diag, so wifi noise may be present in the diag, but the sub is connected to wifi with an excellent signal. Thanks
The arc system loses audio if the channel is changed or paused or going between TV and netflix or any other service. Streaming music through the app does not elicit this issue. It seems that if the arc does not get active sound from the tv it goes into hibernate mode and is not activated when the sound comes back on. I have reset the system, unplugged, etc... I am working on a boost directly connected to my router. This is not a wifi connection issue, it is a tv tobarc input issue. The arc is connected by hdmi-arc input/output. Diagnostic# 700124150 Would appreciate any help.
I have been waiting for the Arc to be available on the Sonos site but shipping keeps getting pushed back. I see they are available at many retailers though.
How do I remove something from my account that I no longer want to upgrade. Thanks
I just recently purchased two Fives to replace my Ones that I have been using for just music. The new Fives don’t sound as good as I expected and they are in the same place that I had my Ones. The Fives don’t have the depth and clarity like the Ones do. I have done the TruePlay set up and it only made a very minor difference. Any suggestions?
Hello all,Going to buy a playbase (decent sale going on) over beam, but upon checking my TV’s I/O realized, it does not have optical out but only a digitial audio out. Can I use the HDMI optical cable supplied with the beam or the arc to out HDMI from TV and optical in to the Playbase will it work? or I need some HDMI splitter to optical out? Thanks for your help.Cheers.
I have a Sonos surround set up in my living room (Beam, Sub (Gen 3) 2x One SL’s) Panasonic Viera TV. Recently replaced a Bose Lifestyle system that had given up after 15 years of exceptional service. The Sonos offers good surround sound but I can’t work out how to switch back to the TV’s own speakers? Having cinema quality surround sound is great when you’re watching a Hollywood blockbuster but frankly, I don’t want cinema surround sound all the time. If i’m watching breakfast TV, the news, a soap or cooking show the surround sound is actually quite distracting and frankly overkill, I’d like to switch between the Sonos beam and the TV’s own inbuilt speakers for everyday ‘regular’ viewing. Without having to unplug anything or switch off at the mains how do I toggle between the Sonos and the TV’s own speakers for everyday viewing?
I thought that the new S2 App would have sorted this out. Am I missing something here? I don’t really care if this is an Apple issue or Sonos issue - it is a massive drawback. Any other suggestions for how to work around this apart from looking for an artist’s ‘Essentials’ playlist?
1st post so apologies if this has been answered. I have a Samsung TV that had no Arc on the rear. I have bought a cable to give me optical out to HDMI. The Amp is out of site of the TV and any IR signal from the remote. Music working perfect but not TV sound control. My Tv does not allow me to turn sound up if I put the TV speakers to external as per App instructions. Is there a way around this or is the TV just not up to it? The only option I can think is turn TV volume down and use the app for control. Thanks in advance
A couple of the Sonos products in my system are out of date and need to be “updated” (replaced). One of them is the Connect Amp in my den. The reason I originally got the Connect Amp was to integrate a pair of bookshelf speakers that I already had, and that I really like. For the upgrade, I think my options are (1) replace the Connect Amp with the new Amp and continuing using the bookshelf speakers, or (2) buy a pair of Sonos 5’s, ditch the Connect Amp and sell the bookshelfs. Option 2 would cost me several hundred dollars less when netting out the money I’d get from selling the bookshelfs. I guess my questions are: (1) Are there advantages to going with a 100% Sonos setup, versus having some third-party speakers and an Amp? (2) Sonically, how do the new Sonos 5’s compare to high-end bookshelf speakers running through an Amp? (3) Anyone interested in buying a pair of Proac Tablette Reference 8 bookshelf speakers….?
I have searched enough and saw people who asked ‘how to turn off’ questions got a weird ’low power consumption’ answer with no further explanation. I dont want a new task in my life 5x times a day (multiply with 3x device) to plug off arc, sub, one sl power cables. What’s the logic behind this? Stability issues? Why does a company prefer forever (low or not) energy consumption?
Hello everyone, please forgive me if my question is answered already but I search for somedays now and I cant manage to find an answer.I have two Sonos port. Each one connected to a stereo amp with HI-FI speakers in different rooms.I want to listen the music coming from a CD player that is connected to my first Sonos port(A) line in, simultaneously to both port (A ) and port (B) outputs. So play the line in from port (A) to the line out of both port (A) and port (B).I cant manage to do that.Is it possible or I am trying something that is not supported? From the app S2 I select the line in on the port (A) that the CD is connected then I try to play that to both port (A) and port (B) and nothing comes out.Is it also possible if I want to listen the CD to the room of port (B) and listen a radio station on the port (A) even when the CD is connected to the port (A) ? Thank you in advance for any suggestion
My mum has Alzheimer’s and her hearing is not great. I want to set up a system for her that will give her great sound in her small sitting room when she watches tv. I want it to be easy to use so hopefully she can just turn on the tv and the speakers come on automatically and work from the tv remote. I haven’t purchased the tv yet either so need to know what features it needs. My thoughts were to have a couple Play 1’s on stands beside the couch. Is that the way to do it and if so what else do I need? I know I can’t connect them directly to the tv. Thanks so much. I’m really hoping this improves her tv listening a lot and I really want to give her this gift. Cheers!
Nee er zijn wel degelijk in-app reclames. Met Dolly Parton o.a. En inderdaad stop ermee. Als dit zo doorgaat verkoop ik al mijn Sonos-spullen en stap over. Ik heb hier nooit toestemming voor gegeven.
Can you tell me when I can epxect Apple Music to become available as a Music Service in Iceland}
Why can’t I get an ARC? Distributors, retail stores don’t have them.
What are the easiest and most inexpensive options to sync additional speakers in your house to a Sonos One?
Hello Sonos community, I recently added a second sub to my living room home theater system. This consist of the following.…play base, two play 3’s as rears and two subs one on the right and one on the left.I haven’t really watched a movie to really notice the difference, what I have noticed is that the bass is more noticeable.Any ideas on movies to watch to give the two subs a workout?
I purchase the Sonos 5’s pair and a 5.1 entertainment set. Both of which are on backorder. any idea when those items might be shipped?
